Intriguing cutout-animated comedy
TheLittleSongbird20 September 2013
Soviet animation has seen some really interesting stuff and there are many great ones and a fair few are masterpiece status. Go There, Don't Know Where isn't a masterpiece, but it is most intriguing and definitely well worth seeing. The cutout animation is expressive and really beautifully crafted, while the music score is quirky and very Russian-folk-tale-sounding, a most striking sound. The story is simple but engrossing and not too thin and never dull, while the narration is nobly delivered and the comedic dialogue is funny and witty. The characters are engaging and fit well within the story, and the voice actors stick to their character traits, like the narration the voice acting is noble and theatrical. Overall, beautifully done and interesting, recommended. 9/10 Bethany Cox
