Tuttle is dead and a ghost confirmed
salim-alzeen2 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Love the show, descent episode. But did they just confirm that Al Tuttle is dead and a ghost? I believe tuttle had been dead for some time now. And that the family just sees his ghost every now and then. Thats my theory at least, hè is in the episode where Stan goes in the tv and ends up in that black and white tv-show with the jazz music. That keeps airing the same episode over and over. Stan starts to lose his mind and nobody else believes him or had ever seen that tv-show eccept for tuttle I believe tuttle is allready dead at this point and that Stan just made him up to not go completely crazy or its tuttles ghost. I think tuttle dies in the episode with the father son camp activitys. Where tuttle pairs up with snot vs Stan and steve. And tuttle gets eaten by that Huge fish monster I believe tuttle dies here and when they kill the fish and supposedly get him back at the end I believe that that is a halucination because they cant except that tuttle died because of there fuede. And every time after that, that you see him hè is a ghost or a halucination.

You Are Here

Warning: Spoilers
I really wanted to like this episode and for a pretty good portion of it I did. They poked fun at malls and hit most of the right notes with stunning accuracy in their takedown. And you cannot go wrong with mocking the concept of documentaries and how they can be both good and bad at the same time.

Then it just got really weird though. They brought in an absurd ghost concept, they did not even know what to really do with things or how to wrap it up at all.

This episode made me laugh for sure, American Dad rarely fails to do that, but the story was simply too absurd and one that should have been left on the cutting room floor.

Why The Low Ratings?
koepfer17 November 2022
The beginning of the episode had a strong whiff of Rabid Ears, one of my all time favorites of Seth MacFarlane's shows. Unfortunately, the pace changes quickly, but the story remains rooted in the realm of surrealism. Overall, it's a solid episode with plenty of laughs with the former American center of social life - the mall - getting its final eulogy.

Generally, I'm beginning to like American Dad more than Family Guy. At least because of the absence of partisan political tropes that nobody is interested beyond US borders - or what is left of them. *buuuurn*

While Family Guy repeatedly fails to stand beyond the day-to-day business of opinionating, American Dad stories are of a much broader character portraying the effects of the ongoing downfall of the USA as a nation and cultural realm. It highlights the failing individual trapped inside and believing in a system with multiple individual failings.

That is where Family Guy most often fails, but American Dad more often than not can excel - and this including this episodes.

Why don't you look into my glowing red eyes?

Warning: Spoilers
The recent American Dad seasons have been excellent but this one really made me laugh. It is absurd but very funny. And I loved the joke about American Dad viewers being stoned students. The food truck names were very funny too.

"Before he was here" "You were here" "And so was I" "To my surprise" "I was hypnotized" "By your glowing red eyes" "You are here" "And so am I!"

"Steve, are you sure you don't want to even glance into my glowing red eyes?!"

"Condos?! The worst of all residences!"

"Evil bankers!

"We're trying to get back to the heyday. The hey... Day... Oh! What about a hay day? We give everyone who comes to the mall free hay! Maybe we're too bound by hay. Do you think we could maybe open it up to ideas beyond hay? What am I saying? Hay's our bread and butter!
