Rude, arrogant, mean spitited, & demeaning
vancurren11 October 2018
Show is an interesting concept. Sadly the sales agent is a bit of an egomaniac and mean-spirited. How about constructive criticism & helpful suggestions instead nastyness. And what's with those two just walking into people's home without knocking and starting to denigrate the homeowners, highlighting what s/he didn't do or did not do "right". No wonder the show is no longer on the air. Very un-Canadian!

It's so interesting to see the changes, but sad for the losers. We even watch the reruns.

Fun Show!!
wisteria-3274122 January 2022
I liked catching this show on Ion. What I like about it is the families have to raise their renovation budget on their own. Not like a network that pays vendors to come in. It's up to them and how bad they want it. I like the hosts and they are pretty knowledgeable in their fields. I'm always amazed when people don't put in the effort or don't listen to advice. If you're selling the house you need to make it desirable for new buyers not your taste. You had your chance now you want to move on. I also like when families and friends support the contestants so wholeheartedly. It gives you a great feeling.

Former "Home Owner" on the shows rating!!
gwenstaltari15 August 2021
This is the first time I have stumbled onto these reviews and it makes me so sad to think that the show appeared as if the hosts were being mean or rude to the homeowners. I can obviously only speak for our episode but nothing could be further from the truth!!!

Paul and Penny were two incredible people that are both experts in their given fields. I guess a lot of what was just Penny and Paul's "friendly" banter was mistakenly interpreted as being mean to us!! God no!! There was a lot of humour... that obviously didn't make "the cut".

We (as a family) had the most amazing experience doing that show. Every single person we worked with on camera and behind the scenes were nothing short of SPECTACULAR!!!

The hardest thing about that show was the actual physical work of the renovations... although, in our episode they will have you believe I was very lackadaisical when it came to doing the actual "renos" Lol 🤣

We did the show in 2013 and here I am in 2021, on here looking for info as we still talk about it and still have people that want to watch it!!

I confidently speak for my entire family that we all learned so much and had so much fun doing that show! If it didn't come across that way... that's a real shame because it was an experience we will all remember for a life time and have a great story to tell the grand kids about how we we on one of the early "reality tv" shows!!

A shame

I really want to like this show. It's a good premise, but they really try hard to make you hate it with their cutting, negative, and insulting banter with each other.

Depressing and rude
subwayco-5220518 August 2018
I think this show can make people feel depressed. These homeowners try hard and are rudely reminded by the host that they are doing this and that wrong while trying to improve their homes to make him happy. There should be prizes or monetary compensation for both sides no matter who (WINS?).

The show is anything but uplifting and compared to shows like Weekend Reno which tries to make owners happy and is fun the watch All for Nothing and the host are the real losers!
