Mediocre: Not as Good as the Previous 3 Episodes

Warning: Spoilers
In this episode we get to see more about Mother Mayhem's backstory, her involvement in the Organization and her relationship with Trigon. I think that exploring our villain's past is definitely interesting and a nice touch, much needed. Her story is tragic, she ''failed'' her mission by giving birth to a boy instead of a girl and they just got rid of her, took her son and put her in an asylum, that's brutal and a good origin story. I love how shocked Sebastian was when he realized that Mother Mayhem is his real mother.

Finding the tape recordings with all the information they needed was too convienient though lol. Mother Mayhem sent a small army of ''zombies'' to fight against the Titans. We get to see more of Jinx's powers, she was able to immobilize the ''zombies''. They didn't really look like zombies to me, I don't really get it, more like braindead random people. They had the chance for Gar to transform during the fight but didn't do it, I guess the CGI budget isn't much. We get more gore in this episode with Rachel beheading a dude, im really happy about that. Deathstroke zombie? What? Things just got really weird.

How did the blade pierce Superboy's skin? Was it a magic blade maybe? So Superboy beheaded Zombie Deathstroke and he came back to life but Jinx stabbed his eye and that's it? He is ''dead'' dead? ... yeah sure. That makes no sense! My theory is that Mother Mayhem used a spell against Conner, that's probably why we had that scene with the snake in the toilet, interesting! So the first ten minutes of the episode were pretty solid, the rest it felt a bit like a mess. The whole thing with the ''zombies'' was bad but I guess they really wanted to include some action sequences so yeah. It would be better to not have any action in the episode in my opinion.

Not every episode needs action scenes to be good. This episode wasn't as good as the previous three. My rating is 6.5/10.

Good, It Gets the Job Done

A good episode; I've been pleasantly surprised by the writing so far. Still sceptical that they can stick the landing, but you never know. We got some insight into the backstory and driving forces of the witches. Jinx was alright, and her caustic banter with Dick made me chuckle: "What are you, an iPhone 7?" The reveal towards the end left me eager to see what will happen with Superboy's character in the upcoming episode. As a minor critique, it is questionable that the show is trying to pass off Joseph Morgan, despite his genetic advantages, as only 24 years old. Two episodes in a row referencing Constantine; might this be a precursor to his appearance? To sum up, it was a good episode that propels the story forward while being entertaining along the way.

Outstandingly stupid writing

Warning: Spoilers
I rarely take the time review an episode in a show, as I prefer to form an opinion on a season as a whole, but compared to the previous 3 which were pretty well written.

I mean half of the episode was alright, but as soon as we get to the zombie fight of the episode, I'm pretty sure the writer and director had some sort of combined brain aneurysm or something, because it was just poorly thought and as well as badly directed.

I mean we're being told from the get go, that the Titans are fighting literal zombies, that are somehow immune to Starfire's energy projection, and by default I'm guessing Connors heat vision as well.

They all start out pulling their punches for some reason until Rachel finally decides to decapitate one with a chainsaw.

Then we also realize that Connor's been waiting for Dicks approval to start hurting the zombies, because he had no issue punching off Deathstrokes head in 1 shot ... WHY?

To top that off, he somehow got stabbed by a knife, which as far as we know had no magical properties ...

I have no clue what I just watched ...

Huge flaw

Any kind of a regular zombie cannot pass through superboy when he holds the door :/ The problem of this show is the lazy writing in general. The cast is good, the main story is good as well as the connection to the other DC characters. They build a good story but they don't pay attention to the details. Sometimes it gets ridiculous as in this episode. I can focus and watch episode after episode mostly. Then, something funny happens like this and I lost my enthusiasm. Come on guys, you can find other ways to where you want to go in the story. Just, be careful a bit and give this show what it deserves.
