Wish we got more between William H. Macy and Emma Kenney given their dynamic on Shameless for so many years, but at least there was a brief acknowledgment of that.
This felt like a very Roseanne premise leaning into midwest struggles and the issues people deal with when it comes to money. This is something that impacts almost everyone in the world and that hits a little bit harder than most premises on sitcoms these days.
This was not a perfect episode of the show, but it was absolutely decent enough. Season 5 has given us a couple episodes like this that almost feel good enough to have aired in the 90's.
