Unfortunately I haven't seen series 1, 2, 3 and 5 of Spiral, but I'm watching series 4 for the first time, and I am very impressed. I don't speak French (apart from a few words like croissant, Eiffel, deja vu) but the English subtitles and the French acting, storyline, and directing, are superb.
Give due credit to Marc Zinga for his outstanding role as Moussa Koné, who was arrested in a bank, when he was I think attempting to open an account with his pregnant wife. The bank employee who interviewed them managed to call the police and before you know it Moussa was facing deportation. Thankfully he's represented by lawyer Joséphine Karlsson (the incredibly beautiful Audrey Fleurot).
We learn later that there may be a link between a militant squad, one of whose members had his arms and other body parts blown up, probably by a defective bomb. Anyway, his two comrades despatch him, nearly dead, in a remote area. No funeral rites I guess for him in furtherance of the cause.
