- Warehouse 13 has been destroyed, Pandora's Box has been opened, and quite possibly the only hope left in the world lies in the use of a dangerous, evil artifact with the ability to turn back time.
- Previously on 'Warehouse 13': Warehouse 13 was destroyed but Artie (Saul Rubinek), Pete (Eddie McClintock) and Myka (Joanne Kelly) were spared when H.G. protected them from the nuclear blast. Pete thought they'd lost, but Artie's all-knowing, "Not yet" response as he revealed he'd kept his pocket watch in hand. It survived. make It's clear nothing is over.
'A New Hope': Artie, Myka and Pete look at the still-flaming ruins of the warehouse. Pete cries as he looks at what's left of Beatrix Potter's tea set and remembers when he and Myka brought it back to the warehouse. Myka recalls H.G. leaving her the grappler with a note reading, "Keep it. You can owe me." Artie simply looks over all the burning remains of the warehouse. Pete shakes him and asks what he meant when he said, "Not yet" in reference to the watch. He asks if it can bring back the warehouse, and whether it can also bring back Steve and H.G. Artie explains the watch is not a rebuilder. He thinks it might be a "key to what might a fail-safe device." Suddenly Artie remembers something and runs to see a pink cloud rising from the pit created by the explosion. It was a chamber made of lutecium, the hardest metal on Earth, and he hoped it would protect something he doesn't mention. He needs to go to Leena's place and check a television.
At Leena's, Artie realizes Mrs. Frederic (CCH Pounder) is likely gone, having died as a result of the warehouse blast. Claudia (Allison Scagliotti) and Leena (Genelle Williams) are stunned by the news of the warehouse explosion. Artie explains. He says Mrs. Frederic went with the warehouse, as she was organically connected to it. The room falls silent for a bit.Pete tries to rally everyone but it doesn't really work. Leena asks Artie about the chamber. He says it's gone. He runs to the TV, mentioning Pandora's Box was inside the chamber that was designed to survive any bomb. The TV news is reporting massive drops in financial markets, riots and mass suicides in major cities. They realize at the bottom of Pandora's Box "all that remained was hope," so when the warehouse was destroyed, "the world lost hope," Artie says.
Artie presses the button on the pocket watch, which glows for a moment and then turns into a 24-hour countdown clock. They're not sure why. The back of the watch is loose. Artie opens it. Myka realizes there are black diamonds in the back instead of rubies. Artie heads back to the warehouse.
He holds the watch up and waits for something to happen. Suddenly a football heads down from the sky. Pete makes a diving catch. He takes a moment to Tebow before handing Artie the ball. Artie cracks it open and searches artifacts on a computer inside the football. They get enough information to realize they have to head to France, the one-time home of the Brotherhood of the Knights of the Black Diamond, but they still don't know what they're looking for. Artie tells Leena he needs to talk to Mr. Keeler to research and locate an artifact in Warehouse 13 and one they could use to diffuse Sykes' bomb. If they can get a day back in time, they can diffuse the bomb before it goes off.
They set off for France with just over 22 hours to get there, figure out a way to go back in time and diffuse the bomb, and get back to do it. Claudia says she's not going. She says it's already too late. Artie realizes she's talking about being unable to go back far enough in time to save Steve. After some coaxing, Claudia agrees to come. She tells Artie directly, "Don't think this is over. I will remember what I have to do and nothing will stop me from doing it."
In France, Claudia, Myka and Pete are cold. Artie explains it's a physical manifestation of the loss of hope. Their minds are interpreting weather, music, sounds and things in a "duller and darker context." The group realizes they're being followed and jump in a cab. Artie checks in with Leena for an update. She thinks an artifact of pure peace might counteract the bomb.
The group arrives at what used to be the watchmaker's factory and realize they have to get past a lot of guards to get into a heavily protected room. Pete distracts the guards by chatting them up and then starting a fight. Artie and Claudia sneak into a room filled with barrel Artie thinks might contain the failsafe. They move a stack of barrels after cracking a bit of a code and find a hole in a wall. Claudia climbs in and pulls out an astrolabe with Ferdinand Magellan's name inscribed. It's missing a piece. Claudia climbs back into the wall to try to find it. While she's in there, Brother Adrian (Brent Spiner) tells Artie, "That belongs to us." Artie tries to explain, but the man insists Artie put it back and a guard comes toward Artie. Myka and Pete are able to stun the guard with an electric shot from the Tesla. The man throws a dagger that hits a button and drops trap doors to block the hole Claudia climbed into. The man is shot with the Tesla. Claudia is trapped.
Claudia can hear and talk through the wall. Artie, Myka and Pete struggle to figure out how to free her. They think they need to find the missing piece of the astrolabe, which could be anywhere in the world. They next realize the pocket watch is reading a regular time again, and it's 4:18. After going through various combinations of what the numbers 418 could mean, Pete suggests military time, and they think about 16:18, and Myka and Artie think it it's a reference to a book in the Bible. It's Matthew 16:18. The clue leads them to St. Peter's tomb in The Vatican. Claudia insists they all go to find the missing piece.
There's rioting in Rome as the group arrives. Artie finds a restaurant and tries to talk his way in. He says there's a tunnel in the basement leading into the bowels of the basilica. Myka breaks a window to force the restaurant owners to chase her, giving Artie and Pete a chance to go in and look for the tunnel. Myka is arrested.
Artie and Pete wander underground tunnels looking for an elevator. Pete's getting some big vibes, and we soon see why. Just as Artie sees a reflection of the alidade, the two guards from the Black Diamond brotherhood place show up. Pete takes care of them, but the man who was protecting the astrolabe is also there. He and Pete get into a tussle in the elevator. When the elevator doors open again, Artie sees the man stabbed in the chest. Pete is smiling, holding the alidade. Pete soon realizes he's been stabbed in the stomach and is bleeding out. Pete is proud of himself for having found what was needed. Pete's last words to Artie are, "I'm not going to remember, am I?" Artie asks, "Remember what?" Pete's response: "Remember dying?" Artie assures him he won't . Pete dies. "But I will," Artie says to himself.
Artie puts the alidade onto the astrolabe. Checking in with Leena, Artie doesn't saying anything about Pete. Leena thinks Artie's best bet for an artifact that will counteract the bomb is Gandhi's dhoti. Just as Artie about to use the astrolabe, the man who'd be protecting it warns him if he uses it, he will create an evil that will live with him the rest of his days. The man then dies.Artie goes ahead with the astrolabe.
The previous 24 hours roll back quickly in reverse. Artie finds himself in the warehouse with Myka and H.G. Artie tells them about the bomb in Sykes' wheelchair. He sets out to get Gandhi's dhoti. Myka and H.G. wonder how he knew about all this. He says it doesn't matter. Artie throws Gandhi's dhoti over the ticking bomb. It goes quiet for a moment, but soon begins ticking again. H.G. and Myka realize if the hatred fuels the bomb, they actually have to diffuse Sykes (Anthony Michael Hall). Artie realizes Pete is about to push Sykes through the portal, where he'll be lost forever.
Sykes and Pete are fighting. Sykes steps through the portal. Pete is about to close it when Artie catches him and tells him he has to bring Sykes back. Pete does. Artie closes the portal. Myka drapes Gandhi's dhoti over Sykes. There's a glow throughout Sykes' body. The bomb stops ticking. After another flash of light on Sykes' face, we see a young, boy-like version of him who says, "I'm sorry." We see Sykes' adult face again and he repeats, "I'm so sorry." And he dies.
Artie is trying to talk Kosan (Faran Tahir) into having the regents give H.G. an exception to get her freedom. Artie says he knows if she had to, H.G. Wells would give her life for the warehouse. Mrs. Frederic and Kosan confer for a moment and decide to go with Artie's gut on this. Kosan leaves. Mrs. Frederic gets close to Artie and says she knows he's "done something." Artie stammers a bit, then turns around to see Mrs. Frederic isn't there.
Trailor is making Artie feel guilty and he dozes off to sleep, hearing the voice of the man who was protecting the astrolabe, telling him, "You will create an evil of your own making an evil that will live with you the rest of your days."
Artie has a nightmarish flash of Claudia chasing him down a dark hallway and ultimately stabbing him in the chest with a dagger. Just then, he's awoke by a call from Leena, who says Claudia is gone. She disappeared in the middle of the night.
