Electronic money transfers require a minimum of two people to effect, and usually three or more for large transfers, as no firm with access to this system utilizes software that allows a single user's information to both request and approve a transfer as a condition of access to the system. In addition, the wire system closes at 4pm Eastern Time and so a transfer could not be completed late at night. Finally, transfers cannot be "paused"; they are instantaneous and either happen or don't happen.
