After its initial reveal last year, developer Deklazon had dropped a new story trailer for their upcoming alien abduction title They Are Here: Alien Abduction Horror. The trailer focuses on journalist Taylor Fox, who is investigating an alien abduction involving the Sherman family at Grayswood Farm, and the consequences of him looking a little too far into someone’s business.
Wearing its obvious inspiration from The X-Files on its sleeve, They Are Here also draws from films like Signs, Dark Skies, The Gracefield Incident, War of the Worlds and others. The game follows journalist Taylor Fox, who is contacted by a farmer named Peter Sherman, who tells Fox about terrifying, inexplicable phenomena occurring on his farm. Fox heads over to investigate, but finds the home deserted. The animals on the Sherman farm are sick, infected by some parasite. From a note, Fox learns that the farmer’s daughter Megan had disappeared.

Don’t know if you’ve heard but Netflix is doing pretty well with their local language releases. Now, with its list of new releases for September 2021, Netflix is leading with one of its biggest international hits.
Season 5 of the worldwide smash Money Heist is set to premiere its first half on Sept. 3. This Spanish series (called La Casa de Papel in its native tongue) about a group of geographically-named thieves found new life on Netflix to become a global phenomenon. Other international series of note this month include Sex Education and Jaguar.
Netflix’s roster of originals in September 2021 is pretty packed even beyond that. The final season of Lucifer premieres on Sept. 10. That will be followed by He-Man and the Masters of the Universe on Sept. 16 (not to be confused with Masters of the Universe: Revelation) and Mike Flanagan’s next horror series, Midnight Mass, on Sept. 24.

Netflix has confirmed that 47 new original movies, series, documentaries and specials will be debuting on the streaming service in June. Leading off the lineup are the debut of “Da 5 Bloods,” a film by Oscar winner Spike Lee about four Vietnam vets revisiting their past, and the second season of Ryan Murphy‘s satire “The Politician.” And just in time for Pride is season 5 of “Queer Eye.”
The documentary slate is filled with such varied films as “Spelling the Dream” about the Scripps National Spelling Bee, “Lenox Hill” about the staff of the famed New York hospital, and “Athlete A” about the sexually abuse scandal that rocked the Us gymnastics team

Are you still feeling a little bummed out that almost all of the Tremors movies are leaving Netflix at the end of June? It’s a shame, to be sure, but rest assured that the streaming site won’t leave horror fans hanging, as they’re adding some great films that you won’t want to miss next month.
June 1st will be a huge day for the platform, as the long-awaited arrival of The Silence of the Lambs should bring in tons of viewers. The 1991 classic – based on the Thomas Harris novel of the same name – marks the second on-screen appearance of the infamous Hannibal Lecter, a brilliant but disturbed psychiatrist who’s been imprisoned after his cannibalistic serial killings. When another killer needs to be apprehended, the FBI consults Lecter to help them understand and track down the psychopath.

Netflix’s new releases for June 2020, however, are highlighted by a couple of high profile finales.

This most-unwonderful, cancellation time of year gets us thinking about the genre of TV shows that most often is given short shrift — sci-fi (or science fiction, if you’re being fancy)

Radio host Art Bell, whose nationally syndicated paranormal, supernatural and conspiracy themed show Coast to Coast Am kept many awake at night – for good reasons and bad – died at his Pahrump, Nevada home on Friday the 13th. Bell was 72.
During its peak in the 1990s, Bell’s show was broadcast on approximately 500 North American radio stations, airing from his isolated hometown of Pahrump on Knye 95.1 FM, a station he founded.
According to the Coast to Coast Am website, Bell became an FCC-licensed radio technician at age 13 and once set a Guinness World Record for broadcasting solo for 116 straight hours while working as a DJ at Ksbk in Okinawa, Japan.
Bell retired several times in his career, which included a short-lived show on SiriusXM satellite radio in 2013. His leaves always sparked rumors as to the “true cause” of his departures among the conspiracy minded.

“All the films in this book share an air of disreputability… I have tried to avoid using the word art about the movies in this book, not just because I didn’t want to inflate my claims for them, but because the word is used far too often to shut down discussion rather than open it up. If something has been acclaimed as art, it’s not just beyond criticism but often seen as above the mere mortals for whom its presumably been made. It’s a sealed artifact that offers no way in. It is as much a lie to claim we can be moved only by what has been given the imprimatur of art as it would be to deny that there are, in these scruffy movies, the very things we expect from art: avenues into human emotion and psychology, or into the character and texture of the time the films were made,...

In the not-so-good old days, summer used to be a break for more than just students. It was time off from great TV, as broadcast networks aired reruns, sports, and reality competitions while they assumed people were outside having fun. But since the new golden age began, all these TV shows have had to fit in somewhere, and many networks chose to run them during the less competitive summer months.
That’s led to a boon of TV’s best shows popping up when no series dared debut before. Every week, IndieWire asks a select handful of TV critics two questions and publishes the results on Tuesday. (The answer to the second, “What is the best show currently on TV?” can be found at the end of this post.)
This week’s question: If you could give one canceled show one extra season (if only to wrap things up in a better way), which would it be?
Daniel Fienberg (@TheFienPrint), The Hollywood Reporter
It wasn’t that we were watching “Hannibal” just to see Bryan Fuller and company get to the events of “Silence of the Lambs,” but that was sure a fun thing looming on the horizon. The “Manhunter”/”Red Dragon” arc was probably the show’s most conventional, but it was all the more intriguing for that odd disconnect, of a frequently told story going through the mind of one of TV’s most original storytellers and...

There’s a fun looking horror anthology film coming out soon called Holidays. The movie is described as a “uniquely dark” film that puts an “original spin on some of the most iconic and beloved holidays of all time. The film challenges our folklore, traditions and assumptions, making Holidays a celebration of the horror on those same special days’ year after year.”
There’s a lot of great talent that came together to create this movie. It looks like we’ve got more new Nero on our hands!
The UK trio has released “Dark Skies,” another track from their upcoming album Between II Worlds. Due out August 28th, the album will be their first full-length effort in roughly four years and they’ve already been letting tracks from it trickle out.
“Dark Skies” deviates slightly from what we’ve already heard from the group. The powerful, trance-y synths similar to other Between II Worlds tracks have remained, but a short vocal sample contributed by Alana Watson replaces the longer verses in the others. A brief, melodic breakdown with samples of police sirens breaks up the somewhat repetitive flow of the rest of the track before a final buildup takes the listener home.
The song definitely matches the sound of the other tracks we’ve heard from Between II Worlds so far, but what’s come before has been stronger.

Admit it, millennials: When the news broke Tuesday that FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully would be returning to the Fox network for a six-episode reboot of "The X-Files," many of you said, "Who are Mulder and Scully?" After all, the show has been off the air for 13 years. Since then, Gillian Anderson (Scully) moved to England and did period dramas, while David Duchovny (Mulder) became that creepy old lech on Showtime's "Californication," and "X-Files" creator Chris Carter went Mia and was apparently abducted by aliens.
Still, even if "The X-Files," its stars, and its creator haven't been pinging the cultural radar much in recent years, the return of the show with its original cast and showrunner on board is a huge deal. Much of what we now take for granted in pop culture -- especially on TV and online -- owes a tremendous debt to the 1993-2002 sci-fi drama series.

Subscription video-on-demand service Stan expects to announce at least two more development deals with Australian producers in the next couple of months.
The platform co-owned by Nine Entertainment Co (NEC) and Fairfax Media sees Australian original content as a key point of differentiation with competitors Presto Movies/Presto TV and with Netflix, which is due to launch in Australia/New Zealand on March 28.
The number of Aussie projects it will commission will depend partly on its ability to raise finance from other sources including international broadcasters or co-producers.
.We have a fixed amount to spend so the key will be to find overseas partners for co-funding at an early stage,. Nick Forward, Stan.s director of content and product, tells If.
.That may mean more reliance on international cast or co-commissions with subscription VoD and premium cable players who make a lot of this sort of content..

While it didn't quite return Will Smith to his former box office glory, Focus (2015) still easily took the top spot on a quiet weekend at the box office.Kingsman: The Secret Service and The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water held on to second and third place, respectively, while The Lazarus Effect got off to a so-so start in fifth.Focus opened to $18.7 million this weekend, which is a bit lower than Crazy, Stupid, Love.'s debut (that's the last movie from directors Glenn Ficarra and John Requa). It ranks in the bottom half of Smith's movies; it is at least ahead of Seven Pounds ($14.9 million), though that movie's December opening held is back a bit. Seven Pounds wrapped up its run with $70 million, which is a number Focus is going to have a tough time matching. The lower-than-expected haul could be placed on Smith's shoulders: Mib 3 and After Earth...

On another quiet Friday at the box office, newcomers Focus (2015) and The Lazarus Effect both started off a little bit slower than expected.Opening at 3,323 locations, Focus took first place with an estimated $6.47 million. That's nearly identical to Crazy, Stupid, Love. ($6.58 million), which was the previous outing from directors John Requa and Glenn Ficarra. It's also generally on par with star-driven, adult-friendly thrillers Limitless ($6.6 million) and The Adjustment Bureau ($6.7 million).Still, it puts the movie on track to finish just below $20 million for the weekend, which is a tad disappointing when considering the star power involved (Will Smith and Margot Robbie) and the pervasive marketing effort as of late.Playing at 2,666 locations, The Lazarus Effect opened to an estimated $3.8 million on Friday. That's a bit higher than Dark Skies, a Blumhouse horror movie that opened to $3.1 million around the same time in 2013. Still, it's noticeably lower than last Spring's Oculus...

Back in October 2014, Netflix announced a pact with AwesomenessTV to bring the popular 1950s comic strip Richie Rich to the streaming platform as a kids’ TV show. Now, the updated retelling has ten episodes available on Netflix as of February 20, 2015.
The original Richie Rich featured the titular character as the son of rich parents, but Netflix’s version finds Richie (played by Dark Skies’s Jake Brennan) as a self-made entrepreneur. The youngster became a trillionaire after selling the green technology he invented because he stashed away his dinner vegetables instead of eating them.
Now, Richie now drives a mini Lamborghini around the huge house he shares with his father (Kiff VandenHeuvel), sister Harper (Lauren Taylor), friend Murray (Joshua Carlon), and friend Darcy (Jenna Ortega). There’s also Richie’s female robot assistant Irona (Brooke Wexler).
“He still lives in a big mansion, and he's surrounded by his family and his close friends,...
