The "Royal Canadian Mounted Police" do not wear the classic red serge jackets, that's only for special events and even there there's only a handful of them. The "mounties" on duty in the movie should be wearing normal police style uniforms in dark colors. The production had the uniforms completely wrong and almost comedic.
Upon discovering that their fellow CBP officers were killed, the proper protocol for the two officers who discovered the murders would have been to immediately draw their firearms to safeguard against a remaining potential threat AND to radio or phone for backup. The backup that arrived would have been substantial in the form of a sea of CBP officers and Border Patrol agents, with state, provincial, and local police arriving on "both sides of the border" to begin canvassing the area for the dangerous suspects. Instead, the two officers violated CBP's departmental protocol by not calling for backup, and pursuing the assailants by themselves through a dark forest. Not surprisingly, this ended up being a costly mistake.
At the end of the movie when Henry is chasing after Xander, through the trees you can see cars headlights as they are driving. They are on an island with no cars.
When Clay tackles Kayla on the pier -at the end of the movie, the gun Kayla is holding rolls close the end of the pier.
Some rumbling' and the gun is underneath Clay.
King Island borders New Brunswick Canada and Maine, United States in the Saint John River - not Quebec, Canada. Also King Island is very small and would not house a ranger as it would be too small for housing due to the water saturating the grounds in winter and destroying the house or station.
The area of King Island is less than 20 meters (60 ft) in length and roughly 50 meters (150 ft) from the New Brunswick border where RTE 144, a highway system runs beside the river. King Island is roughly 200 meters (600 ft) from the Maine border with the closest town of Bellefleur, New Brunswick - about a mile away.
