I love this show with all my heart so seeing that the only review under this episode is a 5/10 meant that I had to act. It is a clear 10/10 and most definitely a top 5 episode of the entire show. We see some amazing character moments for both Charlie and Nick. Charlie standing up to Ben and even though I felt a little bad for Ben he didn't deserve forgiveness. And Nick delivering a great and inspiring speech to his family through an astounding performance from Kit. Other than those highlights the whole episode is just perfection, the sun soaked vibes made my countless watches of this episode all the more splendid, and just being with these characters is my comfort.

While the series has been a great inspiration at reflecting the ups and downs of teenage love, both gay and straight, the series has also been quite good at not allowing the bullies to win the day, of promoting peace and grace. In this episode Nick stands up to his bully brother and his absent father in a great speech. The failing of this episode comes between Charlie and Ben, whom I believed gave a heartfelt "Sorry" to which Charlie responds badly. I suspect there is a buildup to a mental breakdown coming but frankly, I was ashamed at how he acted. Don't get me wrong, those who have been bullied may have cause to hold resentments and pinned up hostility but this was so out of sync with the series atmosphere. Season 3 has an opportunity to mend Charlie's attitude because the way Season 2 ends, I'm left wondering if Nick and Charlie are truly right for one another given the teenage hormones between them sputters more than it sparks. I have high hopes Ben gets to be a better man in Season 3 and that Charlie finds comfort and self assurance.
