This article contains casting spoilers for all eight episodes of Fallout.
The Fallout gaming franchise presents a big storytelling universe to play in. And that’s exactly what drew showrunners Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner to the Prime Video TV adaptation in the first place.
“It’s more creatively interesting to be able to build our own story in the world that they’ve carved out for us,” Wagner told Den of Geek. “That’s historically been the trajectory of Fallout. It’s traded hands many times, with different creative teams taking it over. It’s kept it fresh, kept it relevant. We chose to just vainly look at this as our Fallout.”
Of course, a big storytelling universe also requires a big cast to fill it up. Prime Video’s Fallout isn’t wanting for compelling lead characters thanks to Lucy MacLean (Ella Purnell), Maximus (Aaron Moten), and The Ghoul...

It’s an interesting month ahead on Hulu, as the streamer rolls out some of the series it’s been keeping in its back pocket for the holiday season.
On December 15, the first season of Such Brave Girls will arrive. The sitcom follows a dysfunctional family – and we mean dysfunctional! – that includes real-life sisters Kat Sadler and Lizzie Davidson. British comedian Sadler has previously written for The News Quiz, Hypothetical, and Mel Giedroyc: Unforgivable, but this is her first big TV project. “Everything we joke about in the show is from a place of lived experience,” she told Funny Women. “I wish I could say this is a heart-warming show about overcoming trauma, but that would be a lie. It’s about three toxic, damaged egomaniacs manipulating the world and each other for their own personal gain, vengeance and glory…just like in Little Women.” Sounds good!

Everyone has a high school movie that rings uncomfortably true to their own experiences as a teenager. For some, it's a bitingly satirical portrait like "Heathers" or "Mean Girls," while for others, it's a brutally honest dramedy like "The Edge of Seventeen." But for me, there's only one film that really captures what my time was like as a non-Mormon attending a predominantly Mormon high school in a small Utah town in the early 2000s, and that's "Napoleon Dynamite." True, writer/director Jared Hess' 2004 cult hit takes place in the filmmaker's hometown of Preston, Idaho, but ... well, let's just say that if you know anything about small-town Utah and Idaho Mormon culture, then you know they weren't exactly worlds apart when the film was made.
I was fortunate enough to have graduated from high school literal weeks before "Napoleon Dynamite" arrived, which spared me from having to listen to my...

Zach Galifianakis, an American comedian and actor, has gained recognition for his notable roles in the film industry. Who doesn't love Owen Wilson? In the late '90s, the blond star burst on the scene in Wes Anderson's "Bottle Rocket," snuck into big productions like "The Haunting" and "Armageddon," and then hit the big time when he teamed with Jackie Chan for the blockbuster "Shanghai-Noon" and its sequel. Since then, Wilson has expanded his portfolio with instant classics like "Zoolander," "Wedding Crashers," and "Midnight in Paris," and continues to show off his knack for lighthearted comedy in films such as "The French Dispatch," and the Marvel Disney+ series, "Loki."
Wilson even has his own animated franchise, Disney/Pixar's "Cars," in which he plays Lightning McQueen, a role he's returned to various times, including the California Adventure theme park ride. There's nothing he can't do, and his careful project selection typically ensures quality despite a small handful of duds during his nearly three-decade stay on the Hollywood A-list.

Jason Sudeikis is arguably most recognized now for his award-winning work in the acclaimed Apple TV+ series "Ted Lasso," but the actor had a strong start in the entertainment industry before that. In 2003, he started working as a writer for "Saturday Night Live," and he went on to work on the beloved live comedy show as both an actor and writer for the next 10 years before his departure in 2013. After he gained popularity on "SNL," Sudeikis appeared in other shows, including "30 Rock" from 2007 to 2010 and "The Cleveland Show," which he voice acted for from 2009 to 2013.
Following his success on TV, Sudeikis turned his attention to movies, notably starring in comedies like "Horrible Bosses" alongside Jennifer Aniston and Jason Bateman, "The Campaign," and "We're the Millers" in the early 2010s. Disney’s live-action “Lilo & Stitch” movie is beginning to shape up with the casting of Zach Galifianakis.
Galifianakis takes on an undisclosed role in the new movie, which is planned for release on Disney+. Dean Fleischer Camp — whose “Marcel the Shell with Shoes On” is nominated for best animated feature at the upcoming 95th Academy Awards — is directing the adaptation, from a script by Chris Kekaniokalani Bright.
The live-action movie follows the hit 2002 animated family film, which grossed 273 million at the global box office. Written and directed by Chris Sanders and Dean DeBlois, “Lilo & Stitch” centers on 6-year-old Lilo and her teenage sister Nani, who live in Hawaii and adopt an adorable — though sometimes a little destructive — blue extraterrestrial creature nicknamed Stitch. While the movie featured catchy songs, like “Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride,” it also introduced audiences to the concept of ohana, which means family — and as Stitch instills in the group,...

Sony Pictures Television is teaming up with corporate sibling the Game Show Network for the companies’ first joint upfront presentation to advertisers.
Live viewing and game shows’ capacity for brand integration will be two key areas of focus, an announcement said. In addition to staples like Jeopardy and some new programming, the pitch will also feature The Good Doctor, a marquee Sony property coming to the off-network syndication market in September.
Game Show Network, a highly penetrated linear channel with an active digital presence, says it boosted production last year by 32% over 2020 levels, reaching 350 hours of original programming. In an on-demand world, much of what it puts on the air is seen live, which the network sees as an advantage. Its most-viewed title is People Puzzler, a Leah Remini-hosted series based on People magazine’s crossword puzzle. Other staples include America Says, Master Minds and Chain Reaction.

When Leo Gorcey and Huntz Hall grew too paunchy for their Dead End Kid personas they simply switched gears and became the Bowery Boys—older and far dumber versions of their former street-smart selves. Low-brow and low-budget, the Boys took a Stooges-like slapstick approach to their adventures and 1949’s Master Minds is one of their most polished efforts. It’s a horror comedy featuring a mad scientist bent on swapping Hall’s barely functional brain with a hulking monster played by Glenn Strange (who does a great Huntz Hall imitation).

‘Run Hide Fight’ Review: Glib Cinestate Thriller Turns a School Shooting into a Clichéd Action Movie
You might not expect Cinestate — the right-leaning Dallas production company responsible for “Dragged Across Concrete,” “Brawl in Cell Block 99,” and allegedly enabling a pattern of sexual abuse by producer Adam Donaghey — to create a sensitive and thought-provoking film about America’s epidemic of school shootings, but even if you lowered the bar down to the ninth layer of hell the company’s latest and least defensible effort would still manage to slink under it. An unholy cross between “Elephant” and “Die Hard” that depicts an armed attack on a Texas high school with all the realism of Dana Loesch’s wet dreams, “Run Hide Fight” is . It’s a movie made by someone who’s seen too many movies, and now made at least one too many as well.

Despite being considered something of an accompaniment to the main attraction when it was originally revealed last year, Resident Evil Resistance has proven to be a surprise hit among fans. Included alongside Capcom’s terrific Resident Evil 3 remake, the spinoff mode, developed externally by NeoBards Entertainment, is an asymmetrical affair that pits a team of four survivors against one near-omnipotent Mastermind.
As civilians embroiled in the Umbrella Corporations’ heinous experiments, the former is tasked with escaping whatever prison they start the game in while the latter – able to utilize traps and spawn various monsters created by the T-Virus – has the sole objective of ensuring their captives never see the light of day again. Balance and matchmaking issues aside, NeoBards has stumbled upon a winning formula and Capcom, clearly recognizing the potential for expansion, has already greenlit an entire season of free Dlc.

Resident Evil Resistance may not be the main attraction included with next month’s Resident Evil 3, but it’s certainly shaping up to be a welcome addition.
The multiplayer mode, which pits one team of survivors against a single Mastermind, aims to capitalize on the success of other asymmetrical titles such as Dead by Daylight, though from what we’ve seen so far, Capcom’s taken the extra steps to ensure that Resistance has plenty of meat on the bone compared with other games in the genre. Along with multiple maps and nefarious Masterminds to choose from on launch day, each of the latter boasts their own repertoire of unique abilities such as being able to summon Resident Evil 2‘s terrifying Mr. X and William Birkin.

Multiplayer survival horror experience Resident Evil Resistance is shaping up to be quite the welcome accompaniment to Resident Evil 3‘s upcoming remake.

Thanks to the long-awaited reveal late last year of Jill Valentine and the fearsome Nemesis’ return, however, we now know that not to be the case. For that reason alone, fans have been infinitely more receptive to Capcom’s decision to continue trying its hand at new ideas and fortunately, early impressions point to it being a worthwhile venture indeed.

Struggling to contain your excitement over the upcoming launch of Resident Evil 3‘s long-awaited remake? Unfortunately, we haven’t brought you the news that Capcom has pushed up the title’s release date, but it has revealed the next best thing.
Making the announcement over on Twitter earlier today, the developer has confirmed that fans will have the opportunity to experience Jill’s reimagined escape from Raccoon City and the fearsome Nemesis ahead of April with a playable demo. Sadly, no mention is made of the specific arrival date, though with the full game now just a few weeks away from hitting the shelves, we’re willing to take a stab in the dark and say you can likely expect it to drop on consoles and PC within the next fortnight or so.

While longtime fans of the series will already know exactly what to expect of Resident Evil 3 remake’s reimagined campaign, the same can’t be said for its accompanying multiplayer experience.
An asymmetrical affair that pits four survivors against one all-powerful Mastermind (all player-controlled), Resident Evil Resistance is shaping up to be an excellent accompaniment to Jill Valentine’s struggle to escape Raccoon City and the clutches of Nemesis and today, Capcom has decided to share a wealth of new details for the mode, including two new maps and aforementioned Masterminds. We’ll get to the specifics in just a second, but first, you can check out the gallery below for a first look at Alex Wesker and the granddaddy of Umbrella himself, Ozwell E. Spencer.
As with both previously revealed Masterminds Daniel Fabron and Annette Birkin, Spencer and Wesker will have access to their own special abilities and playstyles.

“We have to interpret so much pain and make it funny,” explains “Saturday Night Live” star Leslie Jones. In our crazy political landscape, the actress believes the show “lets people who don’t really watch news know what’s going on,” while providing the needed release of laughing at President Donald Trump, even through all his cruelty and instability. Watch our exclusive video interview with Jones above.
See Cecily Strong interview: ‘Saturday Night Live’
Having been with the sketch series since 2014, Jones remains “mesmerized by how the writers can still make it look so good.” Creator and longtime executive producer Lorne Michaels has given them “a little bit more say in what’s going on,” with several young scribes more freely “putting in their opinions now.” All of this, she believes, makes the show feel “fresher.”
This creative renaissance has earned the long-running comedy a new surge of acclaim and awards glory.

“The Upside,” a feel good film about the bond that forms between a wealthy quadriplegic and his caretaker, scored a surprising box office victory last weekend. The movie had to overcome a series of obstacles and setbacks before it topped charts.
In the weeks leading up to the drama’s release, star Kevin Hart had been the subject of countless headlines analyzing whether or not the comedian will host this year’s Oscars. The entertainer was offered the gig, but quickly stepped down after controversy sparked over homophobic jokes he made in the past. A little unwanted press, however, is nothing compared to the turmoil leading up to the movie’s theatrical debut.
Its rocky gestation to the big screen makes “The Upside,” which doubled industry expectations with a $19.5 million opening weekend, all the more impressive. An English-language remake of the French hit “Les Intouchables” was first announced in 2011, and...

Netflix sued Relativity Media on Friday, accusing the bankrupt mini-studio of violating an exclusivity agreement by providing five films to Amazon and Starz.
The streaming service also accuses Relativity of failing to provide the required number of releases for 2017. Netflix is seeking $12.6 million in damages for the exclusivity violations, plus $5 million for each film Relativity failed to deliver.
Relativity declared bankruptcy last month for the second time in three years, as it seeks a court-approved sale to UltraV Holdings. Since emerging from the first bankruptcy in 2016, Relativity founder Ryan Kavanaugh has been unable to raise fresh capital to produce new films.
Relativity continues to have an output agreement with Netflix, first signed in 2010, which Relativity considers to be “one of the crown jewel assets of the estate,” according to the filing. Under the deal, Relativity was originally supposed to provide 15 titles to Netflix in 2017. Following its first bankruptcy, the company revised that total,...

Relativity Media, the beleaguered movie and television studio that’s been running on fumes, has entered into an agreement to sell the bulk of its remaining assets to UltraV Holdings LLC. The studio’s new owner is described in a release as a joint venture among funds managed by Sound Point Capital Management and Rmrm Holdings.
UltraV says it will inject capital into the company so it can begin producing and developing content. It also made a point of stressing that it believes Relativity’s distribution agreement with Netflix is still in effect. Netflix has previously tried to get out of that pact as Relativity’s financial woes have exacerbated.
Weighed down by film flops such as “Out of the Furnace” and “Earth to Echo,” Relativity filed for bankruptcy protection in 2015. At the time it had a book value of $560 million, and liabilities of nearly $1.2 billion. After exiting Chapter 11 in...

No one could just pull off the crime of the decade.
Masterminds is based on a true story about a Loomis Fargo robbery, in which a small group successfully stole $17 million—making it the second largest bank heist in history back in 1997.
The film stars Zach Galifianakis, Kristen Wiig, Owen Wilson, Kate McKinnon and Jason Sudeikis.
Here’s the official synopsis:
David Ghantt discovers the true meaning of adventure far beyond his wildest dreams. He is an uncomplicated man stuck in a monotonous life. Day in and day out, he drives an armored vehicle, transporting millions of other people’s money with no escape in sight. The only glimmer of excitement is his flirtatious work crush Kelly Campbell who soon lures him into the scheme of a lifetime.
Along with a group of half-brained criminals led by Steve Chambers and an absurdly faulted heist plan, David manages the impossible and...

To this day, even while writing this, I get a stomach ache recalling how prodigiously disgusting “Dirty Grandpa” turned out to be.

Zach Galifianakis’ documentary, “Democracy For Sale,” looks at how bad gerrymandering has gotten in his home state of North Carolina. The film was originally part of Epix’s original docuseries “America Divided,” produced by Common, Norman Lear and Shonda Rhimes, which premiered back in September. Now, according to the News Observer, the doc will be screened across North Carolina in January and February.
In the film, the actor discusses the state’s transformed politics and, per the project’s website, “how the money of a few has come to dominate our democracy.”
A clip for the documentary shows Galifianakis talking with former Democratic North Carolina state senator Margaret Dickson about how the state’s districts have been changed.
“People feel like they’ve lost control of the process and in some ways they have,” she says in the video. “The redistricting is being done my people far away…I wish...
