One of the better Emmeritus flicks

An artillery squad gets high and accidentally shells their own men during the vietnam war. One soldier survives and he's out for revenge, tracking a group of the culprits to a paintball game. As the group plays, the psycho uses a modified gun to pick them off one by one...

In the mid-80s Canadian television studio, Emmeritus churned out about 20 TV movies produced by Lionel Shenken. Many are largely bad actors talking about stuff and one or two 'action scenes'.

Commando Games follows the usual formula but the set up provides more fun than usual. Like Blue Murder, it is a slasher premise mixed with another genre. Here the minor subgenre of paintball-action is used.

Unfortunately the film does get bogged down in the middle by a lot of talking, mostly annoying wives complaining about the game but there is a high enough body count and fun yet formulaic third act that fans of SOV should enjoy this and it's one of the better Emmeritus films to get started with.

If however, you are not a person who enjoys shot on video fare, Commando Games isn't going to win you over - seek out the similar 80s film, Master Blaster for a quicker-paced paintball slasher.

You killed my buddies!

Warning: Spoilers
I love this movie, One of my faves! Dude goes after the artillery unit that killed his buddies when they screwed up the coordinates! He brings a real gun to the paint pellet game and starts taking people out. He kills people that had nothing to do with it, which is funny in it's own way! Great concept! One of the best cheesy movies I have ever seen! Only if the fight between Paul & the main character couldn't been as little longer, that wouldn't made this an instant classic in my opinion, still great as is though! Also wouldn't liked to have seen what the survivors did after they left the commando game site at Canusa park and lodge. This movie is a must see for any lover of shot on video action thrillers!
