The concept of Choose-Your-Own-Adventure storytelling isn’t a new one; just ask any ’80s kid who grew up reading the classic book series, where you jumped from section to section based on your own decisions. But Netflix has now evolved the experience off the page and on the screen — taking advantage of the streaming model in new ways for TV storytelling.
The animated young adult series “Stretch Armstrong and the Flex Fighters” recently debuted a special episode titled “The Breakout,” in which the three heroes at the core of the series have to track down a number of escaped villains causing chaos in their city.
“The Breakout” features an impressive voice cast, including Clancy Brown, Yvette Nicole Brown, Gary Cole, Keith David, Will Friedle, Kelly Hu, Walter Koenig, Kate Mulgrew, Wil Wheaton, and Steven Yeun, but more importantly there’s a twist to the action — watch it on your computer or via select devices,...

Leon Corcos, though far from a household name, is a frequent Producer and collaborater with Joe Carnahan (The Grey, Stretch) and most recently Exec Produced Garry Marshall's star studded, swan song Mother's Day. Leon produced Carnahan's debut feature Blood, Guts, Bullets, & Octane, BMW Films Ticker- starring Clive Owen and Don Cheadle, and Stretch starring Patrick Wilson, Ed Helms, and Chris Pine... But, Corcos got his start in the solidly Indie genre of comedic horror a la his first feature, The Devil Takes A Holiday. After cutting his teeth on commercials and political spots in Sacramento, Leon took the plunge on his first feature in 1996 ( which garnered a feature piece in Film Threat magazine) and starred John Carpenter staple Victor Wong, character actors...

Prince Charming: Stephen Chbosky (Wonder, above) will rewrite and may direct a new, live-action version of Disney's Prince Charming. Matt Fogel wrote the initial draft of the script, which is said to be a "revisionist take" on the classic fairy tale character, telling the story through the eyes of the prince's disappointing brother. [THR] Boss Level: Mel Gibson (Daddy's Home 2, above) and Frank Grillo (The Purge: Election Year) are in talks to star in action thriller Boss Level. If things work out, Grillo will play a military veteran who is trapped in a time loop that ends in his death. Joe Carnahan (Stretch) wrote the screenplay and is set to direct. "I busted my bird for 60 years in the business," Don Rickles told Maxim in 2013, "but my grandkids only know me as Mr. Potato Head." The comedian may have been joking—but he wasn't wrong, either. Shortly after E! News confirmed that the insult comic had died Thursday morning at the age of 90, those involved with the Disney/Pixar film franchise shared their grief. Tom Hanks, who voices Woody, was among the first to express his condolences. "A God died today," he tweeted. "Don Rickles, we did not want to ever lose you. Never." Whoopi Goldberg, who voices Stretch, told her Twitter followers he was "one of the all time great men and comics," adding that he was "always a...

It feels as if the more expensive a film is, the fewer risks the studio will allow. There are perks to having a bigger budget, but often, a low budget either allows or forces filmmakers to be more creative. As tentpoles and franchise properties fill up the movie calendar, producer Jason Blum's company Blumhouse Productions has reintroduced a little risk into Hollywood with its tried-and-tested production model.
Blumhouse is primarily known for horror films, but they dabble in a number of different genres, producing independent films on budgets of no more than $10 million, and usually under $5m, and then distributing them through the studio system. Cb is reporting that an inside source has found a director for the future X-Force film, and don't expect to be blown away with his resume. Joe Carnahan has been hired, likely due to the fact that he will willingly work with Ryan Reynolds. Carnahan is best know for directing, producing, and writing the screenplay for The Grey. In addition, he directed Smokin' Aces, The A-Team, 3 episodes of The Blacklist, and Stretch, and also wrote a video short that sounds delicious named Taco Heaven.
Both Carnahan and Ryan Reynolds will co-write the movie, and with Deadpool 2 expected to arrive in 2018, one could assume a 2020 release date, but no further information has been given. At this point, all that is known about the actors appearing in the movie is that Ryan Reynolds will star in it.

Five Against a Bullet: Jackie Chan will star in Five Against a Bullet. Joe Carnahan (Stretch) is set to direct the action movie, which follows five bodyguards who are tasked with protecting a politician in Mexico after his father is killed by a drug cartel. Jackie Chan is set to star in a new action movie called Five Against A Bullet, which is being developed by Joe Carnahan. Carnahan is the absolutely crazy director that has brought us films such as Smokin' Aces, The A-Team, The Grey, and Stretch. The guy has a tendency to do some insane things in his movies, so the fact that Chan is teaming up with him for an action movie makes complete sense.
Carnahan has been working on this project since 2014, and the story is set in a small Mexican town that is under attack by a drug cartel. It follows five "world-weary bodyguards who are signed on to protect a Mexican politician after his father is murdered by a cartel, ahead of an election."
Jackie Chan is set to play one of these bodyguards, and there's no doubt we'll get to see him involved in some incredibly badass fight sequences and stunts.

On July 31st, Syfy will unleash Sharknado: The 4th Awakens, picking up five years after we last saw Fin Shepard (Ian Ziering) battling the titular forces of nature, and with the story heading to Las Vegas this time around, rest assured that all bets are off.
Daily Dead recently caught up with Sharknado 4 director Anthony Ferrante and scream queen Caroline Williams, who has a role in the latest sequel, to hear more about what fans can expect from The 4th Awakens and how Ferrante was able to pay homage to several of his favorite horror movies in this latest installment, including The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2, of course.

Some really cool news has come out of the Cartoon Network camp today. Variety announced that Cartoon Network's Adult Swim has some pretty awesome plans to ensure that their current, future, and past fan bases will all be entertained. One of the steps they are taking is to bring us new episodes of Samurai Jack. Earlier this year, Adult Swim announced the series revival would be coming, but this solidifies their plans, and there are a ton of other new announcements that Cn has revealed:

Aside from raiding his own back catalogue for titles to reboot (ahem, Die Hard), Bruce Willis now turns to Charles Bronson’s. The classic action franchise Death Wish is in Willis’ sights, as Deadline reports he plans to lead the Paramount/MGM remake.
Now, it might be a good idea to take this with a pinch of salt, as a proposed revival of the revenge flick has been bouncing around for years now. In fact, Joe Carnahan (Stretch) was attached to direct at one point – oh, what joy that would have been! Alas, he skipped out, and passed the torch onto Gerardo Naranjo (Miss Bala), who is now being replaced by Big Bad Wolves directors Aharon Keshales & Navot Papushado. There’s no word on whether early drafts by Graham Yost (TV’s Justified) or Dan Gilroy (Nightcrawler) are still in play, but we’ll likely find out soon.

Blowing many people away with the Liam Neeson survival drama and masculinity deconstructionism study that is 2011's "The Grey," filmmaker Joe Carnahan has since kept fairly quiet - helming several pilots and TV episodes for shows like "The Blacklist" and "State of Affairs" along with tackling the little seen dark comedy feature "Stretch".

Carnahan stopped short of confirming those reports at that time. This week though he's shared a pre-vis image from pre-production on the film which teases his likely sitting in the director's chair. If so, Carnahan would take over...

The final chapter of the Paranormal Activity franchise, Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension, was released in theaters on October 23rd. My friend and I planned on catching a late showing the previous night, but to our dismay discovered it wasn’t actually playing anywhere near us. How could the final film in a cash-printing horror franchise not be in even our nearest theater? How does that happen?
Blumhouse, the production company behind the franchise and other low budget horror hits, is making a surprisingly bold move by putting the film on VOD just weeks after debuting it theatrically. When they announced this, several theater chains decided that they would not screen the film, fearing that VOD business would cut into their profits. This caused a significant drop in the amount of theaters that The Ghost Dimension would play in, which would also cause a significant drop in the amount of...

The plight of the over-privileged is becoming one of The most insufferable dramatic tools of today’s current cinematic landscape, and if this year’s The Runner didn’t satiate your appetite for sex-obsessed politicians, Mora Stephens’ Zipper brings more of the same. What’s a political thriller without a bit of secret canoodling, right?
The problem with Zipper is that there’s very little reason for yet another happy family man to turn into some sadistic, objectifying sex-fiend, and even less motivation when considering the defaming implications that could come out of any guilty admittance. But apparently this is what makes lawyers and politicians who they are – sleaziness, dishonesty, abuse, and a need to bang anything that stands on two legs. At this point, it seems less like a poor decision and more like a job qualification, according to Hollywood.

Alchemy has debuted the trailer for the sex thriller Zipper, which dramatizes the sexual urges of a man on the cusp of a bright future. Patrick Wilson stars as a politician on the rise who ends up losing everything "due to his inability to fight off his obsessive temptation for other women." This is a thriller because they really play up the angle of "look how deadly this can be to your life!" with all the endless infidelity. The cast also includes Lena Headey, Dianna Agron, Alexandra Breckenridge, Richard Dreyfuss, John Cho and Ray Winstone. This looks interesting, but at the same time I'd kind of rather just go back and watch Joe Carnahan's Stretch again. Give it a watch. As a fan of Joe Carnahan's work -- Narc, Stretch, Smokin' Aces, The Grey -- I'm pretty much up for whatever he's working on next and the idea of him stepping in for Michael Bay and taking over the Bad Boys franchise sounds like something right up his alley. Word from Deadline is Carnahan has been brought on to take a pass at David Guggenheim's script for a Bad Boys 3 with eyes at possibly directing. The goal is to have the project ready for Will Smith to consider as soon as he's done shooting Suicide Squad with David Ayer. Considering Smith could use a couple big hits after After Earth and the modest returns for Focus, I have to imagine he'd be up for returning to one of his most popular franchise and I think we all know Martin Lawrence is in. In fact, Lawrence was on...

Well this is big news for Joe Carnahan. Word from Deadline is that Joe Carnahan, who last directed the film Stretch, is looking at taking over Bad Boys 3 in development at Sony Pictures. They say that Carnahan is "in early talks to do a quick pass to possibly direct". That means that he's going to revise the script, and maybe direct, Bad Boys 3 next for the studio. The first two Bad Boys movies starring Will Smith & Martin Lawrence were directed by Michael Bay, produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, when this group was actually delivering great action movies. We're been hearing about a Bad Boys 3 for a while, with Lawrence saying it's close to happening as of late last year. This might be the final piece of the puzzle, with things moving fast. The original Bad Boys first hit in 1995, and 2003, eight years apart. And they're actually awesome action movies,...

For those who are unaware, the comic revolves around a philanthropic billionaire who uses his technological prowess and bags of cash to fight for what’s right! And what’s right to him is pretty much pursuing every violent and sordid whim to its fullest, without any regard for who gets in the way of his selfish endeavors. There’s a reason the character has been dubbed “Batman meets the Joker.”
At one stage, Joe Carnahan was incredibly interested in directing. He even penned a script that Millar himself showered with praise.

Over a year and a half ago, I talked to super-producer Jason Blum while he was at the press junket for Insidious: Chapter 2. While there, I brought up a little flick called Area 51, which Paranormal Activity director Oren Peli had already been working on for a rather long time. It was at this point that Jason told me that Oren was still “futzing” with the film, and that it was still in post-production even all those years later.
Fast-forward a year and a half, to today, and I had the chance to meet with Jason again to talk Unfriended (which I reviewed last night) at South by Southwest. Of course, I wanted an Area 51 update from the producer. Surely Oren couldn’t still be “futzing,” could he?
Here’s what Jason had to say about the state of Peli’s long-awaited second feature:

Joe Carnahan, one of the most ballsy directors doing his thing at the minute, has decided on his next project after hitting so many stumbling blocks on getting his last movie, Stretch, distributed. Motorcade will see Carnahan return to directing for a studio, namely Dreamworks, in a movie that was probably pitched as Olympus Has Fallen on wheels. When Potus is attacked as he makes his way across Los Angeles, the only person who can save him is a disgraced former Secret Service agent (naturally) who is in the wrong place at the right time. Carnahan's CV suggest he's perfect for this, considering the vehicular mayhem in Stretch, The A-Team and the all out action of Smokin' Aces. If it were up to me I'd throw all of the budget at getting The Rock on board and push for a hard 18's proper action movie. Let us know who you...

Joe Carnahan has been tapped to write and direct Motorcade for DreamWorks, a project that the studio has had in the works for over a decade.
The thriller will center on a Secret Service agent who fails to stop a deadly and vicious attack on the President of the United States as he rides in a motorcade.
Hans Bauer and Craig Mitchell originally pitched the pic to DreamWorks back in 2004, and the studio picked it up for a modest sum. Over the years, writers Ehren Kruger, Billy Ray and Robert Rodat have all circled for rewrites, and Jon Cassar was at one point attached to direct, but somehow Motorcade has yet to be made. Carnahan, though, is expected to take it on as his next project.

Before Tom Cruise decided to star in Knight & Day for James Mangold he was considering several projects. One was The Tourist, which Johnny Depp ultimately took, another was The Matarese Circle, which would have put him alongside Denzel Washington with David Cronenberg directing and the other was Motorcade, a thriller that was, at the time, to be directed by Len Wiseman, who instead went on to direct the Total Recall reboot. Looking at those options, it seems Cruise made the best choice for the time, but Motorcade never really died and Dreamworks is now ready to bring it back to life. It was just announced Joe Carnahan has been brought aboard to direct the thriller which pits the U.S. president against terrorists who commandeer his motorcade on the streets of Los Angeles and Carnahan is bringing along his Smokin' Aces star Ryan Reynolds to play a disgraced Secret Service...

Coming off issues getting his insane action comedy Stretch out into the world (and having more success producing and directing TV shows), Joe Carnahan is adding another studio film to his list of potential movies. According to Variety, he’s now made a deal to direct Motorcade for DreamWorks. The plot for the high concept thriller finds a disgraced Secret Service agent in the right place at the right time when terrorists attack the Us President’s motorcade in Los Angeles. Though it sounds like someone watched Olympus Has Fallen and thought, ‘hhhm… I wonder if we could do that… But in a car!’ Motorcade has actually been stalled in development for years, going through various different versions since at least 2008. At one point, Tom Cruise was attached to star, and Ryan Reynolds briefly flirted with the idea back in 2009. But producers Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald have stayed the...

Michael Bay’s predilection for explosions will be shifting their focus from the robo-orgy leanings of his Transformers franchise to a serious adaptation of real life events. 13 Hours is based on the Libyan shootings of September 2012, which left the U.S. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and three other Americans dead after Islamic militants attacked a U.S. compound.
Bay’s movie will chronicle the story of six members of a militarized security team, who attempted to rescue the Americans stationed at the U.S. State Department Special Mission Compound in Benghazi. Already enlisted to play the security team are John Krasinski (also of The Office), James Badge Dale (Stretch, Parkland), Max Martini (Pacific Rim) and Pablo Schreiber (Orange Is The New Black).
Fresh off a stint on Parenthood, which recently wrapped its final season, and a small, supporting role on True Detective season 2, David Denham will join the above crew.

Thanks to video-on-demand, films never go away any more – so when I tell you to watch a weird Austrian cowboy movie, I expect you do it. This week
Netflix and video-on-demand and Hulu have created immense new pressures on hardcore movie lovers. In the olden days you could tell a friend, “You just have to see House of Games; it’s the best scam movie of the year!” or “I will not stop badgering you until you see Nine Queens! It’s the best South American scam movie of the year!”
And back in the olden days people would reply: “Yeah, sure, I’ll get to it when I get to it.” But then the film would end its theatrical run, so your friends had a legitimate excuse to ignore you. They would assure you that they would get around to seeing that Argentine movie about the bank robber with...

As Craig Zobel’s adaptation, Z For Zachariah, gears up for its debut this weekend at the Sundance Film Festival, a peek at the first footage from the movie has landed in the above clip. Courtesy of Hitfix (via Live For Films), the brief segment offers a look at the leading trio – Margot Robbie, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Chris Pine – having a laugh in a post-apocalyptic America.
Zobel, who previously helmed the eerie Compliance, adapted the movie from the 1974 novel by Robert C. O’Brien. Set “in the wake of a disaster that wipes out most of civilization,” Robbie plays Ann Burden, a young woman who has spent a year following that disaster alone in a valley untouched by its devastation. After a lone scientist kitted out in a radiation suit stumbles upon her homestead, she is forced to deal with his arrival… until a second man turns up and further complicates matters.

One of the movies that has a ton of heat already focused on it even before the Sundance Film Festival begins is "Z For Zachariah." Chris Pine, a brunette Margot Robbie, and Chiwetel Ejiofor co-star in this story that takes place "in the wake of a disaster that wipes out most of civilization," according to the official synopsis. "Two men and a young woman find themselves in an emotionally-charged love triangle as the last known survivors." Craig Zobel's last film that played here, "Compliance," was a cold-blooded and intensely well-made look at a true story that still gives me chills when I think about it. I am a huge fan of his first feature film, "Great World Of Sound," as well, and I am excited to see anything Zobel makes. Today, we've got an exclusive debut for you of the first clip from the film. It’s a great twelve-month stretch when my enthusiasm for the best films of the year outweighs my anger at its most awful, and so in recognition of that, I’m about to count down my top 20 best films of 2014, having added a highly deserving extra five titles on top of my previously planned top 15.
2014 was a year in which the movies provided a rare surplus of optimism, standing in much-needed contrast to the grim headlines that demanded our attention. Beheadings and bombings, missing airplanes and Middle Eastern massacres, heightened racial tensions and heated protests – 2014 was in many ways a depressing year for humanity. Even Hollywood was effected, between the unexpected deaths of Philip Seymour Hoffman, Robin Williams and Joan Rivers (among others) and shocking moments like the nude photo leaks and the more recent Sony hack. So, it was relieving for many to be able to escape the world...

This is the year that we must now accept that action movies aren't just dumb fun, but that they can be considered legit contenders alongside the typical dramas that usually dominate annual awards editorials. High fives to directors Adam Wingard, Matt Reeves and James Gunn for helping to elevate action movies to a whole new level in 2014. #10. Stretch Joe Carnahan's Stretch deserved a theatrical release. Patrick Wilson plays a limo driver who ends up on a hellish journey through the underworld of La while a bearded Chris Pine plays devil on his shoulder in a movie that combines elements of The Hangover and Carnahan's highly underrated Smokin Aces. This film is hilarious, star-studded and one of the director's best. Bonus: David Hasselhoff turns in his most memorable cameo of all time. #...

Chris Pine may be famous to most for his role as Captain Kirk in J.J. Abrams's rebooted "Star Trek" series (and, possibly to a lesser degree, as Jack Ryan in Paramount's attempted rejuvenation of that franchise), but lately he has been interested more in stretching his comedic side, in films like "Horrible Bosses 2," Joe Carnahan's "Stretch," and, most recently, Disney's lavish musical "Into the Woods," where he plays a Prince that is definitely not as charming as he ought to be.
He absolutely steals the show in "Into the Woods," which is a pretty impressive feat considering the high wattage movie stars she's surrounded by (including but not limited to Meryl Streep, Anna Kendrick, Emily Blunt, James Corden, and Johnny Depp). During the post-screening Q&A, Pine was drawn to the character's "two-dimensionality," and when we sat down and talked with Pine, he opened up about what he was nervous about,...

The sequel to Horrible Bosses is too content to rest on the first film's laurels, rather than doing anything of any real note...
It's not often that we reasonably expect a sequel to win over new converts, especially those who hated the original, and in that regard, Horrible Bosses 2 does not disappoint. By the same token, anybody who loved Horrible Bosses will probably find stuff to like here too. On the other hand, there's no way to tell how you will react if (like this reviewer) you had mostly forgotten about the original.
Director Seth Gordon and lead actors Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis and Charlie Day enjoyed a surprise critical and commercial hit back in the summer of 2011. Their hapless Strangers On A Train-style plot to murder each other's loathsome employers won over cinemagoers, particularly with a comedic chemistry that made them something like the Three Stooges for the modern R-rated comedy audience.

Horrible Bosses 2 would be more aptly titled Terrible Criminals 2. Jason Bateman, Charlie Day and Jason Sudeikis are back as the three sorriest excuses for wannabe felons the big screen has ever seen. Luckily, their failed criminal exploits are the subject of great mirth, and this sequel is a worthy follow-up to 2011's original surprise box office hit.
Bateman, Sudeikis and Day once again play Nick, Kurt and Dale, who this time are trying to start a business of their own. They want to be their own bosses for once, and they create a product called the Shower Buddy. They appear on a local morning news show, where they're seen by Chris Pine's character Rex Hanson. When 2011's "Horrible Bosses" came to an end, did you find yourself wondering (aloud), "What happens next?" Well, you're in luck, because this week "Horrible Bosses 2" is going to answer all of those questions (and then some).
"Horrible Bosses 2" has Jason Sudeikis, Jason Bateman, and Charlie Day reprising their respective roles from the first film, and this time the hapless trio gets involved in a scheme to kidnap the son (Chris Pine) of a rich entrepreneur (Christoph Waltz) who has screwed them out of a big deal. Yes, they've downgraded from murder to kidnapping. Hey, times are tough all over.
But does this sequel bring the yuks? Or should you skip this one and instead just go to town on Thanksgiving leftovers? Read on to find out!

With that in mind, there are a few noteworthy options. Stretch calls to mind a spate of '90s comedies set over the course of one increasingly chaotic night. It's weird and a bit out there, but Patrick Wilson and Chris Pine really stand out. Then there's the middle-of-the-road movies, The Expendables 3 and The Giver. Stretch I don't know what happened at Universal when it came to Joe Carnahan's Stretch, but they really decided to bury it. They didn't market it, delayed it's release date, tried to dump it, finally released it as a streaming only title and now it comes to DVD (no Blu-ray) without any notice. I didn't know it was coming out today until ten minutes before posting this article. As anyone that reads this site regularly knows, I liked this movie. It's a batsh*t fun good time, give my review a read and see if it's up your alley.
The Giver I just have no interest in this film and that's a little weird I think considering it's directed by Phillip Noyce and stars the likes of Meryl Streep and Jeff Bridges, but I just can't bring myself to be interested.

Joe Carnahan's Stretch reminds me a lot of Michael Mann's Collateral. The operating word there being "reminds" as in this is the B-movie, bat-sh*t crazy, balls-to-the-wall red-headed step child of Collateral. And I mean that in the nicest way possible. For anyone the least bit familiar with Carnahan's work, Stretch will come as no surprise. Carnahan could easily be described as a director interested in masculinity. He's a "tough guy" cinema director, making the movie equivalent to beef jerky. I like beef jerky and I like Carnahan's films. I like the outlandish nature of his movies, the "anything can happen" narratives, and he consistently brings actors along for the ride that are just as willing and excited about starring in something crazy. While his films such as Narc and The Grey show he can also delve competently into serious cinema, his movies such as Smokin' Aces and...

“Are you a firestarter?” That’s the deceptively flippant question repeatedly leveled at Patrick Wilson’s in-over-his-head limo driver by batshit billionaire client Roger Kairos (Chris Pine), who lands the poor guy – named Kevin and nicknamed Stretch – in a whole world of trouble over one crazy night during this wildly entertaining action farce (simply titled Stretch).
Although it takes a long while to figure out an answer, audiences should already know going in that there’s at least one firestarter involved in this production – director Joe Carnahan. Throughout his career, the helmer has delivered more than his fair share of stylish flicks winkingly infused with genre tropes and over-the-top, testosterone-fueled action. Whatever project he’s working on, Carnahan goes at it with equal parts intensity and intelligence. Back in January, Universal Pictures announced that it was shuttering plans to theatrically release "Narc" director Joe Carnahan's micro-budget comedic thriller "Stretch." It was uncertain when (and if) "Stretch" would see the light of day, with THR commenting on "Paranormal Activity" producer Jason Blum's overstuffed "movie morgue," filled to the brim with movies that were finished but remained unseen. Now those movies are getting out there, through home video and VOD channels, for the whole world to see. They aren't exactly being released, it's more like they escaped. And the first of these movies happens to be "Stretch," a wild, wooly movie that would have been way more enjoyable stretched across an actual movie screen. In "Stretch," a never-better Patrick Wilson plays the titular hero, a failed actor and current limo driver, who has had, in the past few years, developed a problem with booze and drugs and.

To Live and Drive in La: Carnahan’s Trip into Hollyweird
In an unprecedented and surprisingly brusque move, Universal chose to dump Joe Carnahan’s latest film, Stretch into a sole VOD platform release, bypassing a theatrical run completely. While this signifies the studio’s lack of confidence in the title, it’s most likely a herald of things to come for filmmakers working within the system. The rule of thumb in the film industry used to be that you’re only as good as your last picture, but Carnahan received some of the best notices of his directorial career with 2012’s The Grey—it no longer seems to matter just how well your last picture performed. In defense of the eclectic director’s tastes, his latest is a bizarre romp through Tinseltown that never adheres to a particular mold, making it a rather tough sell but pleasantly offbeat feature,...

The team behind Joe Carnahan’s action comedy Stretch are having a blast with a marketing approach that’s equally as esoteric as the movie’s content. Following on from a stream of clips, behind-the-scenes footage and the first trailer, treat yourself to a gander at the glorious red-band trailer. The normal MPAA titlecard has been scuppered in favour of a custom-made version you can see above. Beware, it’s Nsfw, or as the Stretch YouTube channel puts it: “Not appropriate for the office, depending on where you work, I guess…”
In the film, Patrick Wilson stars as a limo driver who’s up to his eyeballs in debt, so he begrudgingly takes a gig chauffeuring a wealthy chappie (Chris Pine) who turns out to be a trickier customer than he imagined. It looks like an absolute blast, cramming in a ton of one-liners, amped-up action and the charismatic Wilson.
