Justin Timberlake was slated to perform at New York’s Madison Square Garden on Wednesday as part of his continuing Man of the Woods Tour, but he nixed his concert hours before it was to take place on the advice of his doctor.
“Hey guys, I’m sorry to announce I have to postpone the show at Msg tonight on doctor’s orders. My vocal cords are severely bruised,” the singer revealed on Instagram. “I’m gonna make this up to you and the new show will be on my birthday.

Justin Timberlake's Instagram posts are typically flocked with heart eyes and fire emoji comments from fans, but even Jessica Biel can't help but to publicly swoon over her husband. On Monday, the "Soulmate" singer posted a photo of himself attentively working on his laptop. "Doing work . . . on my book. Pre-order in the link up top. #Hindsight," he captioned the picture.
Not long after, Jessica slid her way into the comments section, writing, "My wordsmith at work. Always in awe of your big . . . brain." She also added a kissy face emoji for good measure. We definitely don't blame her, either. When your partner looks That good, it's hard not to say something, even if it is a little suggestive.

February is known as Women in Horror Month, when the spotlight is put on female filmmakers working inside our favorite genre, and many horror sites run pieces about movies directed by women. And that’s great! But there’s no reason why that spotlight should be limited to only one month, particularly when there are so many brilliant and talented female filmmakers working in the genre. Why not use this October to hit up these titles on Shudder and get to know some of the most exciting female voices in horror right now?

ScreamFest La is now in full swing, and I could not be more ready for a week+ of horror movies from some of the best up-and-coming horror producers/directors in the world! I attended opening night on Tuesday and was treated to Epic Pictures & The October Society’s horror anthology Tales Of Halloween. The film included ten short terrifying—and sometimes hilarious—films from the likes of Adam Gierasch (Fertile Ground, Night Of The Demons), Andrew Kasch (Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy), Axelle Carolyn (Centurion, Soulmate), Darren Lynn Bousman (Saw 2-4), Dave Parker (The Hills Run Red), John Skipp (Nightmare On Elm Street 5: The Dream Child), Lucky Mckee (The Woman), Mike Mendez (The Gravedancers), Neil Marshall (Dog Soldiers, The Descent), Paul Solet (Grace), and Ryan Schifrin (Abominable).
There are quite a few horror movies reaching the silver screen this weekend, but Tales Of Halloween is the perfect film for the season.

Axelle Carolyn was a horror fanatic long before she was a horror filmmaker, beginning her career as a journalist for Fangoria magazine before directing a number of horror shorts and picking up small roles in films including two of husband Neil Marshall's films: 2008 post-apocalyptic actioner "Doomsday" and the historical war film "Centurion" starring Michael Fassbender. In 2013, she made her feature directorial debut with the supernatural horror film "Soulmate," which premiered at that year's Sitges Film Festival. No doubt Carolyn's biggest effort to date is the upcoming horror anthology "Tales of Halloween," for which she rounded up a number of fellow filmmakers including Lucky McKee ("May, "The Woman"), Darren Lynn Bousman ("Saw II-IV") and Marshall -- who directs the film's final segment "The Bad Seed" -- for ten tales of All Hallows Eve-themed terror. Not only did she create and produce the film, Carolyn also directed one of the segments -- "Grim Grinning Ghost,...

To celebrate the October 16th release of the horror anthology Tales of Halloween, Daily Dead spoke to the filmmakers behind the movie to discuss the project, their individual contributions and more.
First up is Axelle Carolyn, the writer and director of 2013’s Soulmate, who first spearheaded the anthology and whose creepy, atmospheric segment “Grimm Grinning Ghost” stars Alex Essoe (Starry Eyes) as a young woman confronted by an urban legend in which she does not believe.
As one of the masterminds behind Tales of Halloween, can you give some background on how the project came together?
Axelle Carolyn: I’ve been friends with these guys for the best part of ten years, and had been thinking for a while that it'd be great to work on something together. There's an awesome horror community in L.A., and we all hang together to talk horror, watch horror, eat, breathe and live horror.

Ah, the anthology film. It can very often be a mixed bag of the occasional gem shining among the usually three or four other short films involved. But when done right, especially when there’s a common theme to the segments, the result can easily be an instant classic. Tales of Halloween, which had its world premiere at the 2015 Fantasia International Film Festival with no less than four of its eleven directors there to present it, falls into this category.
There is a pretty tight-knit community of horror film creators in Los Angeles, and one of them, Axelle Carolyn (Soulmate), thought it would be fun if the lot of them made a Halloween-themed anthology film and started gathering the troops. It may only be July, but it can take a while to get in just the right mood for certain annual festivities. So, thank goodness for the early arrival of a trailer for Tales Of Halloween – an anthology horror movie featuring ten different segments, directed by eleven different directors.
“Ten stories are woven together by their shared theme of Halloween night in an American suburb, where ghouls, imps, aliens and axe murderers appear for one night only, to terrorise unsuspecting residents.”
In many respects, an advantage of a horror anthology is the fact that it allows for many filmmakers to showcase their work, giving the whole project a fascinating blend of flavours. However, what is notable about Tales Of Halloween, is that – despite – featuring the work of very individual directors, there is an overall tone that snakes through each one, making it feel very much like part of a larger whole.

The 16th edition of Film4 FrightFest kicks off in skin-crawling fashion with the European premiere of David Keating’s blood-freezing rural nightmare Cherry Tree, starring Anna Walton (Hellboy 2, Soulmate) and rising star Naomi Battrick (Down Dog, Waterloo Road)
Keating, who directed the acclaimed Wake Wood for the revamped Hammer label, offers another provocative and compelling twist on the pagan cult chiller, in which a young girl, Faith (Naomi Battrick), in an attempt to save her father’s life, makes a fateful pact with Sissy Young (Anna Walton) head of a sinister black magic coven. FrightFest’s first Irish event-opener, Cherry Tree, is a Fantastic Films & House of Netherhorror Production, produced by John McDonnell & Brendan McCarthy.

Anthology horror films are a tricky beast. The rule of thumb is, usually only half of the segments are generally satisfying while the remainder leave a lot to be desired (save for the few successes such as Asylum, Creepshow, and Trick ‘r Treat). Epic Pictures Group recently announced that they will help produce a new horror anthology set for release next year around Halloween. The new anthology, Tales of Halloween, is based on a concept created by Soulmate director Axelle Carolyn.

Death is one of the few inevitabilities that we as human beings have trouble dealing with. The idea that we must be alone is one that can force us into impossible situations. The idea of being alone after death is what drives Axelle Carolyn's Soulmate at it's core.
Audrey (Anna Walton) loses her husband in an auto accident. Feeling the wait of her loss, she dresses up, runs a bath, and slices her wrists. There is a knock at the door so she submerges herself underwater to wait for death, but death does not come for her...life does.

Every year, crackling bonfires, a steaming witch’s brew, and the crunch of dead leaves come together for a creepy Halloween night concoction that makes one feel like anything could happen. Michael Dougherty’s 2007 anthology film Trick ’r Treat certainly embraced the magic of this night and now a group of directors collectively called The October Society have begun development on Tales of Halloween.
A film featuring ten interconnected segments from 11 directors, Tales of Halloween begins shooting this November. Horror readers fond of the splatterpunk genre may be happy to hear that John Skipp, co-author of The Light at the End, the sought after Fright Night novelization, Animals, and many more novels will co-direct one of the segments with Andrew Kasch (Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy). Neil Marshall (The Descent),Darren Lynn Bousman (Saw II, III & IV), and Mike Mendez (Big Ass Spider!) are among the other directors.

Horror movie fans have a new anthology film project in development called Tales of Halloween. The offerings on the big screen for Halloween this weekend are pretty weak with the only straight-up horror film in wide release being last weekend's holdover of Ouija. But if you're looking for a fun, thrilling, crazy ride, you should definitely check out Nightcrawler with Jake Gyllenhaal. However, it seems appropriate as All Hallow's Eve approaches that we get news of a holiday centric horror anthology in the works. Following in the footsteps of films like V/H/S and The ABCs of Death, Epic Pictures Group is working on a new collection of horror shorts called Tales of Halloween, with 10 segments from 11 directors. More below! Do you like your horror in easily digestible bite-sized pieces thrown together by a spooky wraparound story? That’s right, you got it, I’m referring to the horror genre’s latest trend – anthology franchises. As V/H/S and The ABC’s Of Death have proven, fans are happily gobbling up this new stylistic angle, and now there’s another one afoot. Deadline reports that the Epic Pictures Group are assembling a new anthology called Tales Of Halloween.
The report suggests that this new approach will enlist a great many horror maestros for the upcoming outing. The biggest names leading the pack are Neil Marshall (Dog Soldiers, The Descent) and Darren Bousman (Saw), who’ll no doubt attract fans who may not be familiar with some of the lesser-known filmmakers. That’s inevitably one of the most promising aspects of this type of film; offering fledgling directors the opportunity...
