While held captive by the Romans, Agron is seen having suffered many wounds, one of which is a severe black eye. However, the black eye is not make up or prosthetics. Dan Feurriegel suffered an actual injury to his eye during shooting of the previous episode.
Only 5 Gladiators from the House of Batiatus take to the sands during the games. Spartacus, Gannicus, Rabanus and two unnamed Gladiators. (One of which sparred with Crixus at the beginning of the episode "Blood Brothers." The other was a Retiarius fighter.)
Despite many women fighting in the rebellion, Saxa and Naevia are the only two who take place in the games.
Spartacus' trap for Crassus ended up working on Tiberius solely because of Caesar's interference. Had he not pushed for Tiberius to represent Crassus to Pompey, the ruse would not have worked. Such was the same when the Gladiators slew the Romans in their escape from the House of Batiatus. Illythia commanded her guards to close the gate upon their exit; leaving all inside trapped. Both were instances of unplanned aid from a Roman to Spartacus' cause, for their own interests.
Spartacus' bout during the games is the only time Gannicus ever witnessed his brother fighting as a Gladiator, rather than a solider.
