I was watching this Childrens Film Foundation Film set in a costal town when all of a sudden the scene switches to our former town hall in Hendon. It is unmistakeable.\it was built in the twenties and is a grade two listed building. The committee scenes are set inside the town hall. I have been inside many times and recognise the staircase, oak panelling and art deco light fittings.
The film itself is an engaging comedy witha serious environmental message with some quite disturbing scenes near the end. Everything being more valid today than when the film was first shown.
Molly Weir makes a brief appearance as grandma.
