Wow! What a story. Glad Katrin is back

Warning: Spoilers
Christiane Paul is outstanding as Katrin Jaeger. Compelling, exudes force and intelligence. We learned more about her back story, truly added to the story. Helped make the murderer more believable and helped us see why they might be driven to the actions taken.

The remaining characters were solid, well played as usual.

Plot rtght, fast paced, no slow spots.

Really felt for the two children. Tough challenges. Made sense they investigated the story behind their parents.

The microdot was classic. Loved that element, adding layers within layers.

Started to figure out the likely ending about mid way through. No other candidates really.

Good to See Katrin

Warning: Spoilers
As much as I love Smitty but that miss Katrin. She was like the mother figure the team that has in the need for. And how that Katrin called out at times over in Scott's arrogance and what I miss about her as she could out talk Scott and to a lesser extent the team.

As a German ambassador found dead not from a suicide despite it being a hanging. But found out that the suspect that is making these people being killed is revenge over in their loved ones being killed.

The suspect is the son over in one of those victims and that innocent people like that over in another person who's wife was killed when in fact, the son was after the husband. The son wanted those he felt wronged him and his family and others like them, to suffer for what they did.

Katrin we see some backstory. And that a friend and mentor over in the Europol also has a shady background. We see her disappointment. Miss you Katrin, come back!

The pseudo-science is strong with this one
Windrider616 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Ridiculous science!

This fictional FBI has a magic computer algorithm (program), that takes a voice and turns it into a face. Apparently, the magic computer knows how far apart a person's eyes are based on the sound of their voice! Then they use that magically created face in facial recognition to identify the suspect.

The fake science in this episode makes it clear why the average person is so gullible in the real world when it comes to science. The average person "learns" more about science from fiction than from real life.

Other than that, this episode features a standard theme of someone getting revenge on former spies.

The Stasi never made mistakes? Really?
commandrew-1045122 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Whilst claiming that the Stasi never made any mistakes, SA Cameron Vo reveals that she found 2 periods after a paragraph and that the second period was actually a collection of microfiche files hidden in the file. If the Stasi truly never made mistakes, why didn't the producers of this show portray them as only having one period after the sentence like people normally do and have the microfiche files hidden in that period?

As others have said, it was good to see Katrin Jaeger again and get a bit more of her back story on how she grew up in East Berlin before the Wall came down. The woman who plays the character of Katrin Jaeger was very compelling in this episode.
