This is one of the best "best of" (well, same concept in the opposite direction) episodes S&E ever did. Why? It got to the heart of how these disparate films didn't work, it was funny in spots, and the way that both Gene and Roger were left saddened and disgusted by I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE is still great TV almost four decades later. I've watched this one several times and haven't gotten tired of it. RIP, Gene & Roger, no one's taken your crowns away from you.

WHEN TIME RAN OUT, Charlton Heston's THE MOUNTAIN MEN (and THE AWAKENING), THE BLUE LAGOON, FFOLKS, CAN'T STOP THE MUSIC, WINDOWS, CALIGULA, THE FINAL COUNTDOWN and I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE are the films that make the list as The Stinkers of 1980. If you're a fan of the show then you know how great these episodes were because it allowed the critics to attack those films that really offended them. I must admit that I thought THE FINAL COUNTDOWN was a very good movie and I think there's some mild appeal that can come from stuff like CAN'T STOP THE MUSIC and WINDOWS. With that said, if you're a fan of Ebert then you know about his hatred for I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE and it was picked by both critics as the worst film of 1980. Personally speaking, I thought both critics were way too hard on the film but at the same time it's easy to see why they hated it.
