After string of flops for Vijay Deverakonda, this was his try to redeem his stardom but sadly box office numbers decided to go against him. A family movie where the young architect struggles to make his ends meet to support his family only to change all of that when a girl enters in his life. How she writes a thesis on him which puts him in a spot, and he gets into revenge mode and what ensues between them is the rest of the story.
First half establishes the character and the premise, but it goes on for longer than required. Once, the main tussle between the leads start, it sets the narrative going fast paced and interesting. But the logic at many points takes the backseat and all the development is merely carried on with high number of cinematic liberalities.
Vijay has performed really well, and he is apt for the role. Also, Mrunal has done a fairly good job. The characters are not complexed and hence it does not require them to do anything extraordinary either. Their chemistry should have been the highlight, but the screenplay does not give them any chance to build so, and it is a missed opportunity. The music is average and none of the songs are something you will remember after the credit roll.
The other actors with their minimum screentime are good too. The movie is a good timepass for sure and apt for OTT viewing with family around. It does not bore you for sure but with 10 minutes shorter in the first half, it could have made the movie bit better. Give it a shot on a lazy afternoon. #pranureviews #thefamilystar #thefamilystarreview.
