Deeper layers and convincing play for the musician's eye.

In this film, the composer's struggles are depicted in several, mainly deeper layers. The acting of lead actor Raphaël Personnaz is impressive, as he conducts and plays the piano convincingly.

That's also nice, especially for musicians, who I hope will be attracted by this film.

Maurice Ravel suffers from a brain disease. You get the feeling that time and the world are passing him by a bit. With the exception of certain moments when the composer intervenes if he feels that his music is being neglected.

The atmosphere and decoration of interbellum Paris in the 1920s is fantastic!

Unfortunately, we don't see more of his America voyage and meetings with composers such as Gershwin, Debussy and other contemporaries.

An absolute must, especially for those who like historical music films!
