- Gameplay consists of completing a variety of combat missions to progress the story.
- The player character frequently battles enemy soldiers with a variety of weapons such as assault rifles, shotguns, sniper rifles, rocket launchers and grenades.
- Melee attacks can also be executed, where the player character can kill enemies at close proximity by slitting their throats, stabbing them in the chest or neck, and twisting their neck.
- The player can also command a robotic drone to aid in combat by attacking enemies or deploying a shield for defence. There are also some sequences where the player can use mounted turrets in combat.
- Violence and blood splatter effects occur frequently during game-play, but strong details such as mutilation or progressive wounds are not depicted.
- An interrogation scene depicts the player character being tortured with an electric rod.
- Other scenes depict a man shooting himself in the head, and characters being executed offscreen.

- One faction's planet was irrevocably damaged and irradiated during the previous war, and the other offers the survivors refuge on the planet Vekta.
