Hysterical Independent Comedy!
crookbob6 May 2023
This is the perfect movie for all the fans of independent filmmaking and classic comedies. Billy Smith and his cult of followers stumble through a chaotic lifestyle that always ends in laughs. I'm thoroughly impressed by the director Sean Stanley's unique style and creative vision that always keeps you engaged in the film and laughing hysterically. This screenwriting team, Sean Stanley & David Lahti, has a real knack for crafting hilarious and memorable comedies. Their ability to create relatable and lovable characters, witty dialogue, and clever plot twists is truly impressive. They have a talent for finding the humour in everyday situations and infusing it with a unique perspective that keeps audiences laughing from start to finish. Their writing is always fresh, original, and perfectly timed, making for films that are both entertaining and genuinely funny. It's no wonder that their films consistently receive critical acclaim and have become beloved classics in the comedy genre.

Take a trip to Eagle Rock

Really enjoyed this independent comedy. I've always been a fan of Stanley's short films/documentaries and am glad that he now has an original feature to showcase as well. The film is filled with clever flourishes and nods to "Cult" classics. I know that upon repeat viewings I will be delighted by the layered plot devices and characterization. Great job by David Lahti as always. The characters are unique and resonant. You can see moments of amateurism, especially in the lesser cameos, but the core performaances are transportive. The filmmaking is mature, yet jovial. Can't wait to see it again!!!

Terrible

This movie is like a highschool project...with grade 9 boy level humor. The storyline is really hard to follow. There's almost no plot, the audio is bad, the script is bad and the video is sometimes of very poor quality. It's like a group of white dude friends went out and got drunk and high and came up with the idea for this movie and then someone had spare cash they didn't mind throwing away and so they stayed high and filmed and edited and put this out in the world. This movie is 90 mins of your life you will never get back. If you're a friend of one of the actors, sure, watch it. I'm not and I watched it by accident, but you don't have to.
