The Producers Guild of America (PGA) has weighed in on the best of 2023, with nominees announced in feature films, animated films, TV series/specials, limited/anthology series, television or streamed films, and documentaries. The annual Producers Guild Awards are one of the best indicators of what film will take home the Best Picture Oscar, with the guild reporting 15 of their last 20 winners have won Academy Awards.
Last year’s winner Everything Everywhere All at Once not only won Best Picture, but also picked up six additional Oscars in the Best Original Screenplay, Best Director, Best Actress (Michelle Yeoh), Best Supporting Actress (Jamie Lee Curtis), Best Supporting Actor (Ke Huy Quan), and Best Editing categories.

Netflix’s Beckham and season 2 of HBO’s 100 Foot Wave were among the nominees in the outstanding sports program category, while Goosebumps and The Velveteen Rabbit were nominated in the children’s category. Carpool Karaoke season 5 and I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson season 3 received nods in the shortform category.
Winners of these categories will be announced during the week of Feb. 19. Remaining nominations in the motion picture, animated motion picture, television series/specials, limited or anthology series TV and streaming motion pictures will be announced on Jan. 12. The winners of these categories will be announced at the Producers Guild Awards on Feb. 25.

Max is following DC’s lead with its list of new releases for July 2023.
The two big ticket items this month are of the superhero variety. My Adventures with Superman arrives to Max on July 7 after making its Adult Swim premiere the night before. The end of the month sees Harley Quinn season 4 making its long-awaited debut on July 27. Other original TV titles of note are the Steven Soderbergh-directed Full Circle (July 13) and the third and final season of How To With John Wilson on July 28.
On the movie side of things, documentary Glitch: The Rise and Fall of HQ Trivia premieres on July 20. Before that on July 13 is both a fresh reboot of filmmaking competition Project Greenlight and the movie that came of it, Gray Matter. Library movies in July include Pulp Fiction, V for Vendetta, Lethal Weapon, and more on July 1.
