Tonight on Total Divas, an unlikely fight breaks out between Brie and Nikki Bella over SummerSlam — in a bakery of all places. It’s yummy “cheat day” for fit-as-a-fiddle Nikki, but the indulgence sees Brie judge her for her calorific goodie fix. Nikki stops and turns on her sister, saying: “Yeah, it’s my cheat day. Can I have fun and not be judged?” Brie acts like she’s slightly offended as Nikki adds: “Brianna, I do what I want.” The pair then sit down and start talking about SummerSlam, appearing to be having a great time. But then things go really south fast....read more...

Maryse gets some upsetting news about her friend on Total Divas. On tonight's season six finale, Maryse is sitting with her husband The Miz when she learns that Eva Marie has been suspended from WWE. All of the WWE superstars are in town to compete at SummerSlam when the news breaks about Eva Marie. "Holy s--t!" Maryse says after seeing the news on her phone. "No way." She then tells her husband, "So I guess Eva failed the drug test, she's been sent home." "She was doing so well," The Miz says. Maryse then says, "I feel like there's a misunderstanding because I know Eva, she doesn't drink, she doesn't smoke." We then...

"Are you joking right now?" Nikki Bella is furious with Brie Bella on Wednesday's Total Divas season six finale. On the episode, Brie asks Daniel Bryan to put in a good word for Nikki at WWE to try to get her a spot at SummerSlam. But when she tells Nikki what she did, her sister is extremely upset with her. "Oh my gosh, I forgot to tell you," Brie says to Nikki. "I told Bryan if he could pitch to put you on SummerSlam. I was like, 'Just do this favor for me.'" That's when Nikki asks her if she's joking, "You really said that? I never asked you to do that for me though. I don't need people's help to get on the show, it's my own hard work and talent...

"That's right! You're looking at a girl who's cleared!" Nikki Bella received some very exciting news on Wednesday's Total Divas. On the episode, Nikki had a meeting with WWE to see if she could return to the ring for SummerSlam 2016. We've watched Nikki work so hard to make her comeback and she said before the meeting that this was a "make it or break it" moment for her. After the meeting, Nikki played a joke on her sister Brie Bella, pretending to not have gotten cleared. But seconds later she tells her sister, "I'm cleared!" "Shut up! Why would you do that?" Brie said. It's been a long journey for Nikki since her neck surgery,...

While she's in the meeting, Brie Bella anxiously waits to hear the news. We've seen on the show that Nikki has already been cleared by her doctor to return to the ring, but at this point WWE still hasn't cleared her. While waiting to get cleared, Nikki has been working really hard on her comeback and Brie knows how upset her sister will be if she doesn't get cleared. "Nicole's worked so damn hard to get to this point," Brie says in the clip above. "And she has so much hope that she's gonna...

Even if you're not a wrestling fan, Cody Rhodes' name will no doubt be familiar to you. He took on Arrow star Stephen Amell as Stardust at last year's SummerSlam, and made an appearance during season five as a drug dealer who couldn't feel pain. Talking to Bleeding Cool to promote an upcoming match at Ring of Honor: Final Battle, the wrestler expressed a desire to return to the DC TV Universe. "I would love to," Rhodes said of possibly reprising the role. "There’s no concrete plans right now. I heard something might be brewing for a future season. What [DC TV producer] Greg Berlanti has done is amazing – he’s made four distinct universes, I think there’s about to be a fifth – with bringing DC to television. I would love to be part of the Arrowverse, Star City, again as Derek Sampson, or even part of something like Legends of Tomorrow.

If you’re a fan of Arrow, WWE, or both, you’ll know that Stephen Amell made quite the impact in the squared circle last year when he took part in a tag team match at SummerSlam. That came about as part of a rivalry with WWE Superstar Stardust (a.k.a. Cody Rhodes), and while it looked like a rematch was on the cards, his departure from the company has made that impossible.
However, the two will once again come to blows in the third episode of Arrow‘s fifth season as Rhodes has landed his first major acting gig since leaving the WWE. He’ll be playing a formidable drug dealer in The CW series who may have some metahuman abilities if the brief glimpse we got of him in that recent trailer was any indication.

Mike Johnson of PWinsider reports that word circulating backstage at the WWE live event at Madison Square Garden this weekend suggests Luke Harper’s injury lay-off could be lengthy.
Apparently the knee-injury is deemed far more severe than initially feared and it’s now looking like he’ll be out of action for up to six months.
The injury occurred during a dark match at this past Monday’s Raw in Philadelphia after the show went off the air. The bout was an eight-man tag featuring all four members of The Wyatt Family against Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, Dolph Ziggler and Sami Zayn. After landing awkwardly, Harper tagged out of the bout and spent the rest of the match lying outside the ring being attended to.

Nikki Bella is undergoing neck surgery this Wednesday, which is set to rule her out of action for the next six months. In cases like this, it could even be considered a career ender if recovery doesn’t go well.
She told E! that her injury is a badly herniated disc, which is proving to be very difficult for her to deal with. “We’re gonna pray that the doctors can get the piece behind my vertebrae with just a bone fusion,” she said.
The pain had reportedly been bad since last July, but she only looked into it in October. After an Mri confirmed the injury, she was officially put out action, and will now get the surgery in an attempt to resolve the issue. To say the year 2015 has been a roller coaster ride for WWE would be an understatement. While there have been plenty of bright spots – the enthusiasm for the WWE Network and increase in subscriptions, Nxt’s surge in popularity, a increase in profits over the previous year – there have been an abundance of lows.
This year has seen an unusual amount of pay-per-view events that failed to build hype and anticipation, and in the cases of the ones that did, many of those fell short of delivering. Too many rematches and controversial booking decisions led to what may go down as one of the worst years for WWE from a strictly creative standpoint.
Now that every PPV is in the books, let’s go back and take a look at the year’s shows and determine which ones were great and which ones were…not so great. No,...

Both Survivor Series and the WWE World Heavyweight Title tournament have come to a close, and the company finally got a new champion – Roman Reigns, who immediately lost the belt to Sheamus after a Money in the Bank briefcase cash-in.

Shhhh! Don’t tell anyone, but Dean Ambrose could be turning heel very, very soon.
Depending on what you read, plans to turn the Lunatic Fringe heel have been in the works for some time with countless online sources predicting that this Sunday’s Survivor Series event could be the tipping point.
**Potential spoiler alert**
Ambrose could turn as part of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship tournament where it is predicted he will either face Roman Reigns in the final, or cost his former Shield brethren by interfering. However, the last few days has seen a shift in the betting market, so to speak, with PWInsider Elite claiming that there was a big push within the WWE creative team for Dean Ambrose to take the gold.
Either way, it looks like a heel Ambrose/face Reigns rivalry will be taking us up to the Royal Rumble and beyond.

Last week’s episode of Nxt was monumental in every sense of the word. Coming off the back of a special event the calibre of Takeover: Respect, you would have been forgiven for expecting the show to be a bit dull given how far the special event’s proverbial ball was knocked out of the park – that’s so often the case, isn’t it?
Triple H et al throw their own proverbial curve ball as they had Apollo Crews win the battle royal for the number one contender’s spot to Finn Balor’s Nxt Championship. What made it such as surprise? Crews certainly has what it takes to go all the way to the very top in the WWE, but the timing is what threw a lot of Nxt’s fans off the scent. Earlier this year Charlotte, Becky Lynch and Nxt Women’s Champion Sasha Banks all made their debut on the WWE’s main roster to spark the beginning of the Divas Revolution. However, despite the fact that the Divas Division is now packed with a number of very talented wrestlers these days the so-called “Revolution” has largely been a failure.
The reasons for this failure are numerous, however it mainly comes down to the decision to put the Divas into random nonsensical factions, a lack of any real storyline and a failure to make proper use of the more talented Divas involved in the Revolution.
As a result the WWE fans have largely lost interest in the Divas Revolution storyline and they made their feelings clear at the post-Summerslam Raw when they hijacked a match between Team Pcb and Team Bella by chanting “Jbl” and “Sasha Banks” and engaging...

It was announced during Raw that there will be two title matches on next week’s “Season Premiere” of Raw: Nikki Bella will defend the Divas Title against number one contender Charlotte and The New Day will defend the Tag Team Titles against the Prime Time Players, who get a rematch since they are the former champions.
The reason that Charlotte will face Nikki on Raw next week instead of at Night of Champions as originally announced is because Charlotte wants to face her just before Nikki’s countdown clock expires for the longest Divas Title reign ever. It’s set to expire during next week’s Raw, so the match will likely take place in the first hour to create some drama.
My guess is that Charlotte wins the match by disqualification when Team Bella interferes, which would lead to a rematch at Night of Champions where Charlotte wins the title.

It was announced on WWE’s Facebook page that on tomorrow night’s WWE Raw there will be the first ever “Beat The Clock” challenge for the Divas.
It will be a competition between Team Pcb members Paige, Charlotte and Becky Lynch to see who can win their matches on Raw in the fastest time in order to determine who gets a Divas Title match against Nikki Bella at Night of Champions on September 20.
A “Beat The Clock” challenge has been used many times in the past to determine a top contender for a male title, but this is the first time for the Divas.
You remember the Divas Title right? It’s the title that WWE has basically ignored for the last two months as this “Divas Revolution” took over the divas division and they stopped having title matches even though Nikki has bragged about the length of her title reign repeatedly.

The WWE Divas Revolution is one of 2015’s biggest screw ups. It is almost a bit like the old WCW Invasion of the WWF, something which sounded great on paper but ended up being absolutely atrocious in practice.
The reasons for the failure are numerous, and you could see just how bad things have got when watching the post-SummerSlam Raw. Viewers were forced to digest a Miz Tv segment with Paige, Charlotte and Becky Lynch. As promos go, this was as bad as anything this year. All three girls were awful on the mic, and the script writers were just as much to blame.
What followed was a match, and this was also simply atrocious. Team Pcb versus Team Bella descended into farce, with the audience caring more about chanting for “Jbl” and doing Mexican waves. Paige and The Bellas later went to social media and complained about the “disrespectful” fans.

On Sunday night, Nikki tweeted about how she wishes that she was at the Teen Choice Awards, but she’s been dealing with a back injury.
Wish we were at #TeenChoiceAwards but rehabbing the back & Bri's at #WWELive We're so beyond honored 2 be nominated 4 best female athlete! N

Dean Ambrose is a part of a big tag team match at WWE SummerSlam as he teams up with his good friend Roman Reigns to take on familiar rivals in Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper. It’s being billed as a “Family vs. Family” match since the four men were a part of The Shield and Wyatt Family stables.
What’s interesting about the match is that it’s tough to pick a winner. Wyatt beat Reigns at Battleground in July thanks to Harper showing up to attack Reigns while Ambrose was nowhere to be found. Since that time, WWE has played up the idea that Ambrose has Reigns’ back and that they can trust each other.
During Monday’s Raw, Ambrose did a promo where he talked about how Roman Reigns was his only true friend in his life. That’s when the sirens really started going...

This week’s Smackdown was taped in Lincoln, Nebraska following an explosive Raw after Battleground. Here are the results for this week’s show.
Dean Ambrose started it off with a promo. Sheamus walked out to confront him which led to a match.
Sheamus defeated Dean Ambrose. During the match, Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper distracted Ambrose on the big screen, which led to Sheamus hitting the Brogue Kick for the win.
Neville was doing an interview backstage when Stardust showed up and started laughing at him.
Neville defeated Adam Rose in a short match with the Red Arrow. After the match Stardust did a promo taunting Neville.
There was a video that aired about Nxt Women’s Champion Sasha Banks.
King Barrett went to the ring to do a promo about how he proved he was the only king of the ring. That was it with no interruption apparently.

WWE’s Battleground is in its third year now, and it’s fair to say that it’s probably never going to be one of the company’s major shows. The name is unimaginative for one, and the cards haven’t exactly been stellar since its recent inception either, with 2015’s edition firmly joining them.
In fairness, there wasn’t a single terrible match on the card, just a lot of passable fare and bouts that didn’t really ignite fans’ imaginations. Still, as ever, there were a ton of hilarious, weird and off-the-wall moments that made it worth watching, from some distractingly horny fans in the front row, to Xavier Woods being Xavier Woods, and of course, the fiery trainwreck that was the main event.
It wasn’t a show for the ages and sadly there weren’t too many memorable signs from the St. Louis, Missouri crowd, but...

The original plans for Sting at SummerSlam was for him to team with Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose against the reunited Wyatt Family trio of Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper and Erick Rowan. That’s not going to happen now because Rowan’s out of action for several months due to a torn biceps.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, the six man tag is likely going to happen with somebody replacing Rowan.
There’s a lot of speculation about who the partner of the Wyatt Family will be with the obvious name being Bo Dallas just because he’s the real life brother of Bray. The problem with that is that WWE may not want to change Dallas because he’s got his own gimmick already. The other side of it is that his comedy heel gimmick isn’t really going to get him that far, so a change could be good for him.

The Nxt diva duo of Nxt Women’s Champion Sasha Banks and Charlotte are booked for Raw and Smackdown this coming week, according to a report from PWInsider.
A few days ago, the story was that they would appear at some point after Battleground to help Paige against the “Team Bella” trio of Nikki Bella, Brie Bella and Alicia Fox. The idea was that it would lead to a six diva tag match at Summerslam. That’s still likely going to happen, but WWE probably had creative meetings to bring the divas up prior to Battleground on July 19.
While there is no diva match announced for Battleground at this moment, the current diva storyline is very lame, so new blood is definitely needed. What they could do is debut Charlotte and Sasha, say they are there to be in Paige’s corner for a Divas Title match against...

Bray Wyatt versus Roman Reigns is expected to be a main event at Battleground and SummerSlam. The angle was shot at Money In The Bank, with Wyatt’s music hitting as Reigns was about to become Mr Money In The Bank.
Wyatt appeared under the ladder, toppling Reigns out of the match. He then hit a Sister Abigail to really put an exclamation point on the shock turn of events.
The idea is that Wyatt is a good worker who can have a series of exciting matches with Reigns. He’ll make the Big Dog look good and ultimately put him over.
However, Money In The Bank was indicative of the way that things could go. Reigns was booed out of the building and Wyatt was cheered for his violent actions. It’ll probably be like that when they meet at SummerSlam, which is counter-productive to WWE’s idea...

After a bizarre confrontation between Stephen Amell and Stardust on Raw recently, rumours started swirling that the Arrow and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 star is training to compete in a match against the man once known as Cody Rhodes at this year's SummerSlam. Amell denied that, but something must be in the pipeline based on the following video posted by WWE earlier this evening. This was shot at a non-televised event, so it's clear that it's a deliberate move to tease fans about them both meeting again sometime soon. This past week was the start of some long term WWE planning for a big Seth Rollins and Triple H feud.
It was noted in the Wrestling Observer that Rollins using the Pedigree as his new finisher as well as Hunter saying he sees the reflection of himself in Rollins, will lead to a feud between the pair down the road. At least there’s talk of it now. Prior to this week, there really weren’t signs of it, so that’s why WWE dropped subtle hints since they probably figure they need to do that match.
This Authority alliance started about a year ago when Rollins turned on his Shield buddies Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose. Rollins was immediately billed as “The Future of WWE” that went on to win Money in the Bank as well as the WWE Title at the end of WrestleMania 31.

It happens every single year. Coming off of the SummerSlam high, WWE falls back into a bit of a funk. That funk usually lasts a few months, leading up to the next year, where the programming and stories begin to lead up to the Royal Rumble. That’s when things pick back up, as everyone gets caught up in the wave of the Road To WrestleMania.
While it does happen every year, without fail, this year seems to be as bad as it has ever been. Even some of the company’s biggest and staunchest supporters are turning on the product these days, saying how much of a chore it is to get through episodes of Raw, Main Event, and Smackdown these days. It’s a sad time for the WWE Universe.
There are a lot of contributing factors to why WWE is in a “down” phase right now.

Recently, the WWE has been trying to drum up more interest in their WWE Network. We’ve all been witness to the constant plugging of the Network’s $9.99 price point. Beyond the shameless shilling, however, the WWE has continued their trend of adding new and original content to the over-the-top platform.
In the days following SummerSlam, subscribers were treated to a new documentary which focused on the three former members of the Shield and their respective journeys to the big time. A similar documentary aired after WrestleMania, focusing on Daniel Bryan, along with an insightful piece on the Ultimate Warrior following his passing.
Along with these docs, the WWE has produced a handful of original shows which air exclusively on the Network. Chief among these shows was the successful Legends’ House reality series. Now, the WWE has delivered on a long-promised series, the Monday Night War. The program...

Earlier this week, it was announced that both Daniel Bryan and Bad News Barrett would be making their returns to the WWE during the upcoming European tour. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that both superstars were added to the schedule of events, set to return on November 5th and 6th, respectively.
News has now come in, however, that both superstars have been pulled from the released lineup for the upcoming events. Daniel Bryan was the first to be removed from the schedule and advertisements. While it was reported that WWE had hoped that Bryan would be able to appear in a non-wrestling capacity, it seems that the injured star will be unable to do so.
The reason for Bryan’s removal from the tour is likely linked to his ongoing injuries and rehabilitation. As previously reported, there’s been a long discussion about whether or...

‘Cm Punk arrested’ is trending right now on social media. If you type Cm Punk into Twitter’s search box, the first automatically suggested phrase to come up is ‘Cm Punk arrested.’
As of yet, there has been no confirmed reports of Punk committing a crime or being arrested. It’s unknown how this search term managed to gain so much traction. We can currently only speculate that it is the work of internet trolls.
Punk remains a top trending topic on Yahoo.com as of Monday morning. He had trended throughout Sunday, with ‘SummerSlam 2014′ as the only other wrestling related topic. It’s certainly unusual for such an inactive wrestler to remain so popular with the audience, but fans clearly can’t stop talking about the exiled wrestler. It’s pretty staggering to think that he was ahead of names like Cena or Lesnar on Yahoo throughout Sunday.

The summer is winding down with SummerSlam wrapping up and the fall season of WWE will soon be here. It’s also the time of year when WWE fans look ahead into the future by trying to forecast who might be used in a feature role at January’s Royal Rumble and then WrestleMania 31 next March.
While a lot of fans like to fantasy book or make predictions that seem unlikely, we’re here today to look at some of the things that seem like they’re inevitable. These are not things that I want to happen. Things I want to happen are for Cm Punk to return as the heel to face Daniel Bryan for four PPVs in a row, but that’s not inevitable. It’s fantasy booking. This is about the things that we think are probably going to happen.
Look at how the Wyatt/Cena feud happened last year.

Things are sure heating up in WWE as we have finally made it to SummerSlam. If pro wrestling was food, we’d have ourselves a well cooked steak. In Tna, things have heated to kind of a medium-rare sort of steak…well, maybe not so much a steak as an under-cooked dollar menu burger. While the company has been surprisingly decent the past month or so, time may be running out for them to make a big play. I’m sorry to say, but I don’t think Team 3D vs. The Hardy Boyz in 2014 is going to be what saves them.
While each company is in vastly different financial situations, it’s an important time for both of them. Tna has to justify their existence quickly, and WWE has Network subscriptions coming up. And if I hear “$9.99” one more time, I’m going to buy pay-per-views at full price out of spite.

A Flag Match is an uncommon stipulation that WWE has decided to bring back at SummerSlam this Sunday. This year’s Flag Match features American “We The People” patriot Jack Swagger taking on “Russian” that is actually Bulgarian named Rusev. At this point, WWE has failed to announce exactly what the stipulations are for it. We just know the flags will be there.
The rules of flag matches have changed over the years in WWE. Some of them have the rule that the winner of the match is determined by pinfall or submission and then after the match is over they get to carry their flag out as a victory celebration. Other times they did the match where a flag was located by the turnbuckle and the first person or team to retrieve it was the winner of the match.
There’s a reason why a Flag Match is so rare in WWE.

Money In The Bank has fast become one of the most important dates on the WWE PPV calender, gaining equal importance to that of the Royal Rumble or Summerslam due to the titular Money In The Bank ladder match.
This year’s was no different, with the WWE fans getting not just one ladder match for that lucrative contract for a title shot, but another for the vacated WWE World Heavyweight championship. An injured Daniel Bryan meant he was forced to vacate the strap, leaving a handful of wrestling’s hottest prospects in a desperate scramble for the top prize.
In a list of great moments from this pay per view, the two ladder matches dominate the list by their very nature, but there are several moments in there from the undercard that were welcome surprises.

This year’s Money in the Bank PPV will be the fifth year that WWE has run a PPV based off the Money in the Bank ladder match. From 2005 to 2010 the match was done at WrestleMania, but it became such a hit that WWE felt the need to build an entire show around the match concept.
It was a smart move by WWE because Money in the Bank has proven to be one of WWE’s best PPVs of the year. It probably trails only WrestleMania, Royal Rumble and SummerSlam in terms of importance. Survivor Series may be older, but it’s not a big deal anymore. Money in the Bank is.
The 2011 edition of Money in the Bank was one of the best WWE PPVs ever. In fact, when I did a listing of the top 20 PPVs ever back in February I listed it as the 3rd...

Update: This article was put together before the revelation yesterday that Aj Lee was pregnant.
Most recently, it was revealed that former Divas Champion Aj Lee could be returning to World Wrestling Entertainment sometime between Money in the Bank and SummerSlam, after marrying former WWE Superstar Cm Punk. This is good news to fans of WWE’s resident Black Widow as it seems that the Divas-oriented program heading into the biggest wrestling event of the summer will more than likely revolve around the longest-reigning Divas Champion returning from her “self-exile” to reclaim the title from the rookie Paige, who dethroned her the night after WrestleMania XXX.
Or so the theory goes.
You see, the WWE has not always capitalized on some of the more obvious moments where matches between two naturally-rivaled forces should have taken place. As true as it is for the Superstars, it’s even more...

Anyone who has tuned in to WWE programming over the past few months has likely noticed that Daniel Bryan has been sporting some new merchandise. On his most popular t-shirt, the WWE World Heavyweight Champion bears a striking resemblance to a certain Argentine communist. History buffs will know that the aforementioned communist is of course Che Guevara.
Much like Guevara, Bryan’s goal since starting the “Yes!” Movement has been to inform the masses and spark change from within. Guevara worked to spread the political ideology of Marxism-Leninism and create a utopian world. Bryan, on the other hand, has been intent on changing the structure of the WWE by allowing fans to have their voices heard.
Both figures achieved considerable success. Guevara was instrumental during the Cuban Revolution that saw Fidel Castro and his allies overthrown the government and adopt a system of communism. Bryan took down the Authority...
