Somewhere, in the timeless deserts of Rajasthan, a family of nomadic musicians traverse across the landscape, moving from village to village. Led by his father who plays the dholak, Sarwar, 9 years old and full of hope, sings and performs to the village folks, earning whatever little money and water people can spare in exchange. Frustrated with living in such dire circumstances, Sarwar seeks solace in the folk tales narrated to him and his sister Laali by his grandmother under the starry sky. Sarwar soon discovers that the magic and wisdom that lies within these folk tales will help him change the course of his family's fate while unearthing an unexpected truth.
