A nun without a heart, a dissected unknown person, a murdered tailor. Workers are renovating the Dominican Church's walls when the wall collapses. Through the gaping hole, an ancient staircase leads to a chamber of secrets. The local priest and curators dare to descend into the long-forgotten crypt, where 264 dusty and cobwebbed coffins lie hidden in the depths. The biggest shock is opening the coffins and finding not skeletons but mummified bodies. Babies, women, and men in elaborate dresses and lace eye patches. The researchers begin to investigate. How could the bodies have survived so intact? Who were they? What did they die of? The adventure continues across two timelines. The movie transports the viewer back to the 18th century, where, as it turns out, the fates of the mummies are intertwined. Murder, secret love, and deadly disease are tied together in a present-day investigation. It is only at the end of the story that the solution is solved when the threads come together as a result of the study. Mysticism, secrets, mummies.
