The lost sexploitation masterpiece, Big Hair, Long Lashes, was recently found in a film lab in East Iowa. It was painstakingly restored and released over the weekend on Amazon.com! A mondo erotic explosion of neo-grindhouse sensationalism and poetic lore.
From the tortured mind of horror director Jared Masters (pioneer of Post-Camp), who brought us the modern cult classic, 8 Reels of Sewage, now delivers the newest, grooviest, throwback film yet, with more black lace, chiffons, nightgowns and bed jackets than ever before! With twice the phones of Tarzan! These women. These girls. Expect the unexpected, in this true story of a girl group gone wrong, turning a classy Hollywood hotel into a classless brothel, starring Danika Galido (Slink), Julie Barzman and Lauren Taler (Deadly Punkettes).

I have been following the career of exploitation filmmaker Jared Masters for quite awhile now, and he seems to be on a real roll, because earlier this year I wrote that Deadly Punkettes was his best film to date, but just over six months later I have to revise that statement. Club Lingerie is Jared Masters' best film.
Jared Masters is a filmmaker whose work is inspired by the nudie cutie movies of the late sixties and early seventies, and most heavily inspired by the work of Doris Wishman. The Director once told me that Wishman's film Nude on the Moon is the movie that first made him want to become a filmmaker.
What makes Masters' films stand out from the glut of exploitation themed cinema we are currently experiencing is a deep love for the genre, knowledge of its history, and a...

Galactic Film Festival 2014
I have always wondered why, with all the horror festivals in La, there isn't a dedicated science fiction film festival in the city. Well, I now have to wonder no longer, because on August 9th I attended a cool science fiction film fest, The Galactic Film Festival, a presentation of The Academy of Film Festivals, the same institution that brought us last year's horror oriented Rip Film Festival.
Horror and science fiction have always gone hand in hand, and there were some great horror themed shorts and features that played Saturday.
Deadly Punkettes
I have been singing the praise of director Jared Masters' exploitation and trash cinema inspired films for some time, and Deadly Punkettes, his newest feature, is also his best. Masters warned me before the screening that I was going to see the "clean" version, and that there is a dirty...

On rare occasion, every few hundred thousand movies or so, you may come across a captivating mystery thriller with so much life-changing meaning, such realistic nerve curdling emotion, such awe-struck wonder and curious disbelief, through tears and through laughter, the viewer is transformed into an entirely new being, for the better, and will live on under a new persona for the rest of their life, reflecting on that specific motif of entertainment.
Jared Masters, the surrealist who helmed recent horror melodramas Slink, Teachers’ Day, and Deadly Punkettes, now has his new film, Club Lingerie, also known as Passion Show, halfway in the can.
The motion picture is his most serious, intellectual, genre defying and most challenging project yet. The story is compiled of colorful characters whose mannerisms project into on screen tensions that simmer to a boil and will explode into an aggrandized cinematic trend setter.

For the first time ever, an incredible ballet of bloodshed will commence on screen.
The story is simple on the surface with a sinister subplot that will not be revealed to the naked eye as twelve innocent souls fall prey to the sentimental slaughter. Jared Masters made it up.. Although the story will unfold against a backdrop of Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake as in Black Swan by Darren Aronofsky, the film just might take on more of a tone similar to Dario Argento's Susperia, while delicate dancers perform their last.
Ballerina Massacre Aka Ballet of Blood is in its early stage of pre-production and is scheduled to film this year. Densely poetic and tribal, the film will feature explicit gore, rumored to be a thirty-gallon picture (Slink, also directed by Masters, used five gallons).
There’s not much we are allowed to tell you about this disturbing film, but...

We’re back with another edition of the Indie Spotlight, highlighting recent independent horror news sent our way. Today’s feature includes VOD release information for Armistice, multiple teaser trailers, a Q&A with Matt Thompson from Bloodline, and a preview of Dept. of Monsterology:
Dept. of Monsterology: ”Officially, it’s the Department of Cryptozoology, Mythological Studies, Parapsychology and Fortean Phenomena. But to the rest of the students and staff at the Dunsany College, baffled by the cloak of secrecy that surrounds the Department and its affairs, it has another, more dismissive, name: The Department of Monsterology. Funded by the mysterious Hampton Foundation, the Dept. operates several field teams that roam the globe on extended research expeditions.
Their brief: to investigate the dark and unexplored corners of our world – the places we’ve forgotten, lost or believe to be mythical. And to study those things that may still be lurking there.

Somehow, someway, the award winning bowlegged poet-turned-filmmaker from Midlothian, Virginia, is now getting his 7th feature film produced, Deadly Punkettes. The film will depict the gritty Neapolitan rise and fall of 4 prissy teenage punk-rock princesses, who’ll have to maintain well-rounded riots even after a founding member mysteriously dies, and haunts their act!
The picture might just be the first of its kind, melding an all-girl group novelty with paranormal terror. The plot twists hardly promise to be tame, and the predictability of this particular writer’s track record could convince us the story will be chock full of sassy, silly, and seductive female characters.
Meet the band… On bass guitar and vocals … the daring and diverse D’Lannie Brown, as Aspen, a simple girl who’s about to become enchanted by a new set of illusions in her life … and death. On guitar … the delicate and dear … Claire Gordon-Harper,...

Masters recognizes real talent in choosing D'Lannie Brown to fill the bill, which might also feature some of the rising pop star's hit tracks. She's Photogenic's definition, and a synonym of grace. D'Lannie is also the star of the hit new reality show Raising Fame. Skylar Ripp was was also cast because she is dynamic and marvelous on and off screen. The film is also set to star Claire Gordon-Harper, if an actress was any sweeter she'd be on daytime television.

The Slink Special Edition DVD, from Frolic Pictures, can now be brought home from Amazon, with a full hour of bonus material, including the uncensored deleted scenes (that were too controversial to be included in the theatrical version). Also on the disc is nearly a half hour of Behind the Scenes (which feature the intimacies of the cast and crew at work), plus 3 Slink Trailers, and Red Carpet coverage of the Hollywood Premiere, hosted Kamuela Kim on the Kam Kim Show. Total runtime: 2 hours!
It has been said, that no new idea in cinema really exists, that is why the folks at Frolic Pictures in Hollywood think ya’ll should know about an unoriginal, but stellar American slasher-comedy, that’s about to drop so hard in December on VOD and BluRay, you don’t even know. Teachers’ Day.
He's been referred to as the Ed Wood of the 21st Century.
