- When Seth takes a job on a fishing boat in Alaska and fails to return or make routine contact, Justine becomes extremely worried and decides to go look for him. Jack is offered a freelance reporting job and invites Olivia to travel with him on a weekend away.—Greensteam
- Justine is excitedly preparing for Seth's return from Alaska. That excitement turns to frustration to fear when Seth doesn't return as he said he would and she can't get any answers from anyone who should be in the know in Alaska. Justine has to decide what to do, in light of the fact that there is no evidence whatsoever that Seth is indeed missing. At the art gallery, Maryellen gets a larger than usual collection of works by John Bowman, which she learns is his effort to make ends meet in light of the fact that he lost his bread-and-butter job as a chef at a Tacoma seafood restaurant. Maryellen does whatever she can both to find out more about his life - especially if he is married - and to help him with the job issue. With the former issue, the harder she tries, the less she finds out as the more he clams up about himself. Jack receives news that he has gotten a freelance sports writing job covering the Mariners. This news is bittersweet for Olivia, who is happy for him, but she can't help but think that this may be the beginning of the end if he gets more and more of these jobs, taking him out of Cedar Cove forever. But their immediate future is even uncertain as he asks her to accompany him into Seattle for the weekend, she not sure if she can even take this step with him. And Grace gets a proposition of sorts from Cliff, which she evaluates considering that she just got out of a long term relationship.—Huggo
