Sex & Nudity

  • Some talk of sex (for example, Gannayev mentioning use of his powers to pick up women), but the actual act never appears.

Violence & Gore

  • Many fight sequences but nothing particularly realistic (the game uses a similar engine to Knights of the Old Republic and isn't capable of much). Violence by sword and spell, primarily, and unlike the first Neverwinter Nights people never explode when killed (using Turn Undead in that game with the gore slider at max could be quite hilarious). The game is rated T for Teen, however.

Profanity

  • Some uses of "damn" and "hell" (though the latter more often refers to the Nine Hells of Baator, an actual plane of existence in this setting). The game more often favors more esoteric oaths along the lines of "Cyric's blood!"

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Alcohol is purchaseable at some vendors but has no actual purpose in play other than making your character wobble for a bit after drinking it.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Mask of the Betrayer is much darker and edgier than the original Neverwinter Nights 2 campaign, and the multiple sequences taking place on the Plane of Shadows could potentially be quite frightening. The Electron engine's graphics aren't really up to scaring you, however.
