Tim Did Nothing Wrong
trexdrew-35-40560429 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
In the last episode's conclusion we had Tim and Lucy fighting about a conversation in which Lucy blamed him for all of her anxiety and negativity while also saying he undermined her. Tim was desperately trying to say and do the right thing for Lucy who was constantly freaking out about her test but at every turn was thwarted by Lucy. At the very end she blows up on him and he simply removes himself because what she's accusing him of is the opposite of everything he's tried to do for her today.

Flash forward to this episode where things are still on the rocks for these two until midway through the episode Tim sets up a polygraph for Lucy to grill him with. Things are going fine until she asks him if he's ok with her becoming a detective to which the machine lights up like a Christmas tree signaling that Tim is lying. There's many problems with this but one of the biggest being that Tim himself didn't even know that he was lying. Now I'm not an expert but I'm pretty sure if the person in the machine doesn't know it's a lie that the polygraph won't detect it which is one reason why they're not some silver bullet truth teller that Hollywood likes to portray. Not only that but in no way was Tim doing the things she accused him of last episode and it's even mentioned "maybe you're projecting some because of your own issues Lucy?" But no apparently he's the problem even though it was very much self inflicted and not Tim's fault.

The reason the writers have done this is seemingly to set up some epiphany moment where Tim gets over the baggage he's carrying from Isabell. They weren't subtle and you're beaten over the head with this idea multiple times. I understand wanting to show and do this idea but the way it was approached was done very poorly. I really dislike how she went after him for nothing that he did when all he was doing was trying to support whatever path she chose. Instead we make it Tim's fault subconsciously in a major reach by the writers. The rest of the episode was good sans Celina going off on her own to save some drug mule and getting captured, but this Tim and Lucy plot felt egregious.

Get rid of Juarez
cassi_b-128 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Celina is just the worst. She should have been fired on day one. Definitely on virtually every day after that. She has showed extremely poor judgement in every situation, but this is the stupidest thing so far and that is saying a lot. The most dangerous people are people who think they are smarter than everyone and don't have to follow the rules. That said, there will be no consequences for her in this situation, like there haven't been in the past. In real life, she would be long gone - well, not even hired if she spouted her craziness in any of the background interviews.

8 stars because the wedding was fun and sweet. But dear God, get rid of Juarez.

Am i the only one who noticed?
casiversen1 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Am i the only one who noticed that Nolan threw a guy through a window? Is the guy okay? Is that legal??? I can't be the only one who noticed this, right? I feel like I'm on crazy pills!!

Surely it can't be legal!

There has got to be consequences, right?

That being said, the actions of Celina should've been fired long a go with her spewing of crazy, and her reckless action taking without letting any of her coworkers know where she was going or what she was doing.

The show would have been a lot better without her in it and i feel like if they HAVE to have her in it they shouldn't have made Aaron make a move on her, it completely ruined their sweet innocent friendship arc and his character development when he kissed her at the wedding.

A POOR EXCUSE FOR A POLICE PROCEDURAL
lorinfink29 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Looks like this episode is when this show stopped being a show about police work and turned into the Bachelor and Bachelorette show. I stopped watching at about halfway through it. My mind's eyes wouldn't let me continue.

Another thing, in what universe does a police sergeant fight a civilian in the civilian's own home when he hasn't committed an actual crime? And since when can the comedy duo of Bradford and Chen (also known as CHENFORD ) go on 'company' time, at taxpayers expense to retrieve a wedding ring for a colleague?

The Rookie started out being a very good and entertaining show its first year. At that time, I likened it to the old Jack Webb series, "Adam 12". There was some realism. It's gone beyond that. The plots are terrible. I'm afraid they lost me. Too bad. Hopefully, it will be cancelled.

It can't get worse
shuny9 March 2024
The writing for this show couldn't even pass muster for the lowest rated afternoon soap opera that is about to be canceled. It was a cliché of every little thing that could go wrong and then magically fixed. This is allegedly a police show but real cops who behaved like this would not be working for the LAPD. ( I certainly would hope not.) Some people blame this on Juarez, but getting rid of her will not fix their problems.

They have a very large cast and as usual revisit every single member and their individual problems. It doesn't advance the story because there is none. They can't leave annoying characters from the past forgotten in the past. For this episode it was Skip Tracer Randy and the red-headed lawyer who had someone murdered last week. Will it take till next year to send her to prison? If this is an example of what the writers who got a raise after the strike can produce, the studios got ripped off. The writers should be fired.
