For one magical week, everybody with hands anywhere near advertising purse strings is being pampered like royalty — unless, lord help them, they attempted to capture one frame of the Wicked trailer. Because anybody who did that during Monday morning’s NBCUniversal upfront presentation is likely halfway to a black site by now.
“We do have security around the venue with night vision and laser pointers,” cautioned chief content officer Donna Langley from the Radio City Music Hall stage, the room suddenly lit emerald green. The crowd laughed, but she wasn’t kidding. Four people in my immediate vicinity were scolded with flashlights for phone use when the yet-to-be-released full trailer of the Broadway adaptation aired its sneak peek.
There is no need to dissect the irony of a media giant giving one of the most compelling slots in its near-two-hour plea for advertising to a feature film. There’s no...

NBCUniversal showed major love for its film division, primarily the highly anticipated Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande-led “Wicked,” during its 2024 upfront presentation Monday in New York.
While not the traditional venue for touting upcoming movies — as this week is all about wooing Madison Avenue to shell out big bucks for prime ad placement on TV — with film chief-turned-overall content boss Donna Langley on stage for her first upfront, the move was a natural moment for synergy.
Langley teed up a new trailer for “Wicked,” a treat just for those attending the presentation at Radio City Music Hall, and promised it will drop wide later this week.

NBCUniversal is looking to wring more money out of Peacock subscribers, with the streamer set to raise prices this summer — one year after its last fee hike — going into effect for new customers ahead of the 2024 Olympics.
Beginning in mid-July, the price for Peacock Premium (with ads) will increase by $2 to $7.99 per month and Peacock Premium Plus (mostly ad-free) is also going up by $2 to $13.99 per month. Peacock Premium’s annual price will increase from $59.99 to $79.99, while Premium Plus is going from $119.99 to $139.99 per year.
The new prices will be effective starting July 18 for new Peacock customers and for existing subscribers with their next billing date on or after Aug. 17.
The Peacock Premium Plus tier provides ad-free content, the ability to download episodes and live local NBC channels. Due to streaming rights, per NBCU, a “small amount of programming” still contains ads on some Peacock channels, events, and a few shows and movies.

Sean ‘P Diddy’ Combs has recently been the center of several serious and disturbing allegations, all of which the rapper has vehemently denied. Commonly known as Puff Daddy, two of the rapper’s properties were recently raided by US Homeland Security, which is investigating a string of accusations against him.
While he’s well-known in the entertainment industry for his music, he’s also a regular in the gaming industry, having curated the soundtrack for several titles ranging from 2004 (Fight Night) to as recently as 2018. Gamers now want his name erased from all the titles he was involved in, if the allegations are proven.

Faithful Peter’s set quite the trap, but will he catch any traitors?
In last week’s episode of The Traitors, the former bachelor slipped some incorrect info to Ct, Dan and Parvati — three people he suspected were traitors — by telling them that he and Janelle were the recipients of the shields. The goal: To lure a traitor into murdering Bergie or Trishelle, the true shield holders, thereby cancelling the murder. And if the murder was cancelled, then one of Peter’s suspects was surely a traitor.

Plus, Janine tests out some off-brand curse words!
