Quantico mediocrity

Not a good episode, on several levels: on the one hand, Burke's old flame is not convincing. The tension between the two is missing. In addition, the case itself is poorly written and full of clichés and plot holes. The whole "jealous wife"-story is lame, very constructed and coincidence has to help constantly so that there is a solution at all. The plot around the codex is also not good ... The puzzles are unimaginative and illogical. A more exciting resolution would have been possible here. The only bright spot is the charm of the figures. The dialogue between Jones and Neal about Burke and Jill is a terrific highlight. Unfortunately, it doesn't save the episode.

WHO WROTE THIS MESS?

Although every episode that precedes this one were not all eight through 10, nearly all were. Quantico Clousure stands out from all before it as very poorly written, somewhat poorly acted, and easily worst in a very good lot so far.

Worst Episode of the Series

Literally 70+ episodes of Elizabeth and Peter being 100% secure in their marriage and then THIS nonsense happens? She's completely okay with Peter and Sarah faking a relationship and stripping each other to get naughty photos for a case but the second an ex comes into town (during their anniversary dinner, an evening upon which Peter has made it very evident that he's glad to be with her) all bets are off? Ugh. The characterizations of Peter, Neal, and Elizabeth are all out of wack this season. I'll need to remember in future rewatches to skip season 5 all together. Does it recover from this point?
