Dr. Bellamy's Dirty Blond Hair
lavatch17 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
It was a case of fertility fraud.

Instead of using the sperm of Dylan Graff, Dr. Preston Bellamy used his own in order to father the child of his patient, Jessica ("Jess") Graff. The film opens with a graphic demonstration of the fraudulent in vitro procedure.

Jess becomes suspicious when she sees the son of another patient, and the little boy has the same striking "dishwater" blond hair as Dr. Bellamy and her little boy, Henry. Jess then enters into a conspiracy with the other patient, Sarah, in order to disclose the truth about the doctor with such a monumental ego that he wants to pass on his DNA to create a mini master race. It was too bad that Sarah became collateral damage in this case.

There were solid performances and good dramatic tension throughout the film. It was only troubling that Jess kept her husband Dylan in the dark about her investigation of Dr. Bellamy. While she didn't want to hurt her husband's feelings about not being the biological father, she nonetheless should have recognized that it was not healthy to withhold secrets.

The climax was a wild chase scene with Jess and Dylan in combat with the mad, needle-wielding blond doctor. The televised version was punctuated with commercials about the most extreme pro-abortion law in the country in Minnesota. The ads were just as horrifying as the film.

It was not a terrible movie! But I didn't like it either

Warning: Spoilers
Interesting concept. But could've been done better. Basically Dr. Preston Bellamy owns a fertility clinic. But it's soon revealed that he doesn't use the child's father's DNA but instead HIS own DNA, resulting in all his patient's children looking exactly like him. Yet not a single one of his patients batted an eye about it when they saw their kids didn't look like them nor their father.

Dylan should have already suspected years ago that Henry was not his, when he and Jessica saw blond hair when both he and his wife were brunette.

As the other reviewers said, the husband character was absolutely not needed! All he did in the movie was whine and accuse his wife of infidelity with Dr. Bellamy. After seeing the paternity test results. Jessica could have easily been a single mom who's husband passed before the movie's events. No shade towards the actor though.

And why was Jessica being so secretive towards her husband? She could have just came forward with her suspicions about Dr. Bellamy, Sarah, and the fact that all the other patients kids resembled their fertility doctor.

Dr. Bellamy gave off evil mad scientist vibes, especially with his appearance. But ultimately came off as awkward at times.

I was sad when Sarah died though. I was hoping that she'd stick through to the end. I really grew to like her.

One of my pet peeves in LTM's and in movies in general, is when the couple has a child, whose obviously old enough to speak, but doesn't even so much as say "hello". This could easily come down to the fact that Henry was shy, and didn't like talking to people, but he didn't even talk around his parents most of the time. But what do I know? I don't even have any kids of my own, so how am I supposed to know how they act?

And can we stop using names like Sarah, and Jessica, PLEASE? They are plenty of names out there that are much more appealing. I'm just surprised that none of the characters last names were Miller, Jones, and Johnson.

The ending was the typical Lifetime type climatic ending. No twists or turns or anything shocking and surprising.

Overall, I'm rating My Child Has My Doctor's Face a 7.3/10. As I said in the title it was not horrible but I didn't really like it that much either.

A typical Lifetime movie once told before, check out Seeds Of Deception or The Babymaker with Melissa Gilbert.

Anyway.. Why did the wife not just inform her spouse of the situation regarding the doctor, instead of drawing suspicion to herself such as being unfaithful especially due to why they needed IVF.

Than to add further stupidity on her part as her spouse is leaving with bags packed because,he assumes the worst she again doesn't inform him.

For how minimum hubby's part was to this plot except as a time filler, she could of been a single mom trying to uncover facts & so forth.. She didn't deserve him, seemed to involve others over a loving spouse addressing it anyway. Ugh!

It was cast and acted basically average at best, music a few times was drowning out dialog.

Dr. Cullen.. Oops wrong movie, wasn't menacing just awkward. Lol.

Full of clichés,plotholes,it dragged in spots but again.. Lifetime.

Not on my list for rewatching, but ok if really bored on a bad weather day.

As mentioned.. Watch the version mentioned above, you will see the differences.

My son has my doctors face (Lifetime movie)

Warning: Spoilers
This is the dumbest movie I have seen in lifetime. This dumb woman has not follow through and she is presented as a follower. Come on LIFETIME YOU CAN DO BETTER YOU HAVE DONE BETTER. I feel like it is a waste of time to watch this movie. She has all the evidence and does not give to the people who can arrest this idiot they should have come up with a different plot and a better storyline. I have seen better on lifetime and have watched this channel for over 10 years what in the world has happened to this Network are you all getting lazy this is by far the worse movie I have struggled to watch.

Not worth your time watching

Warning: Spoilers
This movie has a premise that's been done before, so you'd think that the writers would try to make it more unique.

Nope.

The husband character was honestly not needed. All he did all movie was think his wife was unfaithful and get knocked out numerous times. The writers could have had him team up with his wife and the other mother to take down the Peter Facinelli/Carlisle Cullen-looking doctor. But no, it's better for the wife to let her husband think she's cheating and to stand by as he leaves her and their son at a critical time of need.

In the end, this movie could have really tweaked some things to make it at least more interesting than what we got. The actors did their best, but the writing was doing them no good.
