The episode is interesting. A classic puzzle that Patrick solves masterfully. I can only think of two sad ting: first, a hotel security guard who comes to a customer with a complaint, armed with a tool to forcefully break into a room. I would not recommend that hotel to my friends. Second: Cho again falls for an emotionally aggressive, pushy woman. This seems to support the theory of men having to be domineering and powerful in the workplace, but wanting to be humbled and bossed around in their private lives. A nice moment was Patrick's trick with the spying device.

Overall, a good episode, dynamic enough and with a reasonable amount of emotional background.

When the famous gym coach Chad Parkman is found dead in his hotel room, Lisbon and Patrick Jane are assigned to investigate the crime scene. Soon they learn that Parkman was stabbed and was a member of the Visualize, and they are forced to accept Jason Cooper and Ray Haffner to receive information from the CBI investigation. Meanwhile, the CBI agents find another man murdered nearby the hotel indicating that the murderer is the same, but there is a contradiction since the crimes were committed practically in the same time. Cho investigates the gym academy and a woman apparently harasses him, going to the CBI office to visit him. Soon Patrick Jane finds who the woman is and that she might know Red John while solves the murder case.

"The Red Tattoo" is another one of the best episodes of "The Mentalist", with Patrick Jane having a leverage over Red John for the first time and a short list of suspects. Now the identity of the infamous serial-killer seems to be near to be disclosed. My vote is nine.
