Henry Cavill pretty much had and maintained that muscular physique right from the start, which must be one of the major reasons behind his casting and fitting perfectly as Superman in the Dceu. But things unfolded differently for David Corenswet, who will play the next Clark Kent in James Gunn’s reboot of the Dcu: All because he didn’t possess that superhero physique from the start.
David Corenswet in Hollywood.
Needless to say, this one factor affected fans’ approval of him in the role as well. However, being the absolute jaw-dropper that he is, Corenswet has surpassed everyone’s expectations through his recent revelation of how much he has beefed up to play this respective character. And unsurprisingly enough, this revelation should be enough to put his comparisons to Cavill to rest with ease.

The Monday, April 22 live episode of “American Idol” Season 22 proved to be the end of the road for two fan-fave singers: Jayna Elise and Roman Collins. They were the only artists in the Top 12 that failed to earn enough votes from viewers to make it into next week’s all-important Top 10. Host Ryan Seacrest delivered the unfortunate news in front of judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie. The guest mentor for “Billboard #1 Hits” night was Meghan Trainor.
Throughout the competition, Jayna sang tunes like “The Climb” (Auditions round), “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now” (Showstopper round), “Confident” (Top 24 round), “My All”, “All I Wanted”, “I Have Nothing” (Top 14 round) and “Diamonds” (Top 12 round). The 22-year-old performer from Washington, D.C. actually began her journey last year on “Idol,” but was eliminated prior to the Season 21 live shows. The good news is that she made it much further this time around.

Director Ed Zwick has been talking about making the film Blood Diamond in his new memoir – and it marked a sad turning point for Warner Bros.
Director Ed Zwick has recently published his memoir of sorts, going by the name Hits, Flops And Other Illusions: My Fortysomething Years In Hollywood. It’s a really entertaining and also quite candid account of a directing career that’s seen him steer films such as Glory, About Last Night, The Last Samurai and – relevant specifically to this story – Blood Diamond.
You might remember that one. Starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Djimon Hounsou, it was released in 2006 to reasonable success. Costing around $100m of Warner Bros’ money to make, it grossed $171m worldwide, earning five Academy Award nominations in the process.
Yet as Zwick reveals in his book, the film was not just a turning point in his own career, but that of Warner Bros too.

The romance genre is rare in that even the most conventional films can land extremely well. Somewhat fittingly titled, The Greatest Hits feels like an amalgamation of all the familiar beats of the romance genre. Nevertheless, writer-director Ned Benson and his cast infuse the movie with so much charm and humanity that the result is something incredibly charming and very special.
In the film, Lucy Boynton plays a woman with a mysterious affliction: every time she hears a certain song, she is literally transported back in time to the last time she heard it with her late boyfriend. It’s a high-concept blend of sci-fi and romance, and while it goes through a lot of conventional motions, it’s consistently lovable.
The characters’ arcs play out in pretty much the exact way you would expect. The protagonist has to learn to love again after being hurt by tragedy, and she finds a handsome,...

Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon’s Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya opened at 7.02 crore at the box office, and it has entered the list of top openers of Valentine’s week releases in the last 13 years. Since 2011, 17 films have been released during Valentine’s Week, and Tbmauj is among the top 10 opening films of Valentine’s Week.
However, this might not be a very welcoming move for Tbmauj since most of the films released during Valentine’s Week have not earned a hit status. In fact, even in the top 10 openers, some films flopped at the box office, including Sara Ali Khan & Kartik Aaryan’s Love Aaj Kal.

An Elvis Presley tribute album could feel incomplete without a cover of “Suspicious Minds.” Regardless, Glenn Danzig declined to record the track for his album Danzig Sings Elvis. The rocker explained why he did that and how Elvis changed his life.
Glenn Danzig didn’t cover Elvis Presley’s ‘Suspicions Minds’ because he followed his gut
Danzig released Danzig Sings Elvis in 2020. During a 2020 interview with Rolling Stone, the “Mother” singer was asked to name the first Elvis song he attempted to sing. “The first Elvis song I sang, probably in a garage band, was, like, ‘I Can’t Help Falling in Love With You,’ ‘All Shook Up,’ ‘Hound Dog,'” he said.
Danzig Sings Elvis includes covers of a few famous songs, such as “Fever” and “Always on My Mind.” Despite this, most of the tracks on the album are obscure. Danzig was asked why he steered clear of...

Elvis Presley‘s “One Night” played into the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll‘s image as a sex symbol. Ironically, it was a rewrite of a song about sexual shame. Here’s a look at what a songwriter thought when Elvis changed his track.
The 1st version of Elvis Presley’s ‘One Night’ was inspired by a schoolteacher’s desires
Numerous Elvis hits were originally by other artists. The first singer to record “One Night” was rhythm and blues singer Smiley Lewis. The tune was penned by Dave Bartholomew, who also wrote Chuck Berry’s “My Ding-a-Ling.”
During a 1985 interview with the Los Angeles Times, Bartholomew discussed the inspiration behind “One Night.” “There was a very nice young lady who lived in Mobile, Alabama, a schoolteacher,” he recalled. “I used to go with her sister.
“At dinner one night, she mentioned — out of a clear blue sky — she had only...

Elvis Presley‘s “(Marie’s the Name) His Latest Flame” is one of his best hits that’s sadly neglected by oldies stations today. Tom Petty heard demos of “(Marie’s the Name) His Latest Flame” — and he felt the song was originally a mess. However, Petty had a different attitude toward the finished track. Regardless, he still criticized the “Heartbreak Hotel” singer.
Tom Petty said Elvis Presley’s ‘(Marie’s the Name) His Latest Flame’ is ‘beautiful’
During a 2011 interview with Rolling Stone, Petty named “(Marie’s the Name) His Latest Flame” as one of the songs by the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll that inspired him. He explained why the tune meant so much to him. “An acoustic guitar and a snare drum played with brushes carry the rhythm, but when the six-string bass comes in and the piano goes up to the high register, the whole thing jumps out of the speaker,...

Box Office: Animal Fails To Surpass Sanju’s Returns (Picture Credit: IMDb)
The year 2023 was a fantastic one for Ranbir Kapoor. While his Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar did decent business, Animal ended up causing a volcanic eruption at the Indian box office. However, despite being the highest net grosser in Ranbir’s career, the Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial failed to overtake Sanju’s dream returns. Keep reading to know more!
Ranbir has always been a risk-taker when it comes to experimenting with scripts. Doing an A-rated film, and that too with a controversial director, was a dicey decision, but it has paid off really well. Not just an extraordinary start, but the film ended up being a historic success at the Indian box office.
Animal’s historic run, budget & box office returns!
Animal has earned its position as the 2nd highest net grosser in the history of Bollywood after Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan.

It has been an odd year for Disney at the box office. The studio has had more misfires than it has had successes — and even some of those successes were pretty muted. "Elemental" is perhaps the prime example as Pixar's latest seemed straight-up doomed on arrival before having a miraculous turnaround, leading it to a $496 million worldwide take against a $200 million budget. Most of the studio's other big-budget films haven't been quite as lucky. To illustrate that point, James Cameron's "Avatar: The Way of Water" actually remains one of the studio's highest-grossing movies of 2023 despite the fact that it was released in 2022.
"The Way of Water" hit theaters on December 16, 2022, capping off a 13-year journey for the sequel. It made a ridiculous amount of money before the calendar rolled over to 2023 and ultimately wound up as the third biggest movie of all time with $2.32 billion to its name,...

The producer revealed Elvis’ people almost didn’t compensate him properly for his work on the song. Fortunately, someone else resolved the situation.
Elvis Presley sang ‘Suspicious Minds’ late at night after playing ping-pong with a producer
Chips Moman produced both Mark James’ original version of “Suspicious Minds” and Elvis’ far more famous cover of it. During a 2017 interview with Elvis Australia, Moman said Elvis wanted to listen to “Suspicious Minds” repeatedly and he learned the track on the spot. “We finally got around to recording ‘Suspicious Minds’ after midnight,” he said. “I had a ping-pong table, and Elvis was pretty good at it.
“He used the same arrangement on Mark’s single and most of the same American Sound studio musicians,...

Elvis Presley‘s “Burning Love” is such a famous and beloved song that it’s tough to imagine that Elvis wasn’t the biggest fan of it. That might have had more to do with Elvis’ personal life than anything about the song’s lyrics or composition. In 2015, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra released a version of “Burning Love” with the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll’s vocals and a new instrumental arrangement.
Elvis Presley preferred ‘Separate Ways’ to ‘Burning Love’
According to a 2022 video uploaded to the Elvis Presley YouTube channel, the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll wasn’t interested in recording “Burning Love.” His recent divorce from Priscilla Presley made him more interested in recording sad ballads, such as the forgotten classic “Separate Ways.”
However, producer Felton Jarvis wanted to help Elvis record a new big hit. After all, none of Elvis’ tunes had reached the top 30 in two years.

Elvis Presley loved one of his songs that was written specifically for him. Despite this, the tune isn’t famous today. It might surprise the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll‘s fans to know it was a No. 1 hit for five weeks.
The writers of ‘Hound Dog’ and ‘Jailhouse Rock’ wrote 1 of Elvis Presley’s favorite songs
Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller were a famous pair of songwriters known for penning Elvis hits such as “Jailhouse Rock,” “Hound Dog,” and “Don’t.” During a 2020 interview with Elvis Australia, Stoller revealed the origin of “Don’t.” “‘Don’t’ was written for him by request,” he said. “One afternoon, it was a Friday, while we were doing the filming [of Jailhouse Rock], a lot of which is ‘Hurry up and wait’, he said, ‘Hey Mike, why don’t you write me a real pretty ballad?’

Some movies are so iconic it’s hard to imagine that they were originally going to be radically different. Elvis Presley‘s movie Jailhouse Rock once had a completely different title. One of Elvis’ regular songwriters revealed why the film’s initial name was abandoned. In addition, he discussed what he thought about Jailhouse Rock.
Elvis Presley’s movie ‘Jailhouse Rock’ could have been called ‘Ghost of a Chance’
Mike Stoller co-wrote several Elvis tunes, including “Hound Dog,” “Bossa Nova Baby,” “Little Egypt,” and “Jailhouse Rock.” During a 2022 interview with Variety, Stoller revealed the first title of the movie Jailhouse Rock was abandoned in favor of the title of his song.
“I think [the original title] was Ghost of a Chance,” he said. “That changed, I think, as soon as they heard the initial recording. Which is not the one in the film, because the one in the film was blown out and had a bigger orchestra.

It’s not always the most tasteful trend, but technology is now allowing artists to make music with singers who died. Lisa Marie Presley released a version of Elvis Presley’s “In the Ghetto” with her vocals added in. She had a righteous reason for doing that.
Lisa Marie Presley’s recorded a duet version of Elvis Presley’s ‘In the Ghetto’ for charity
Several times in her career, Lisa Marie recorded virtual duets with her father, editing her vocals into preexisting Elvis tracks. Some of the songs she recorded as virtual duets included “In the Ghetto,” “Don’t Cry Daddy,” “Where No One Stands Alone,” and “I Love You Because.” During a 2012 interview with Goldmine, Lisa Marie discussed why she chose to cover “In the Ghetto” and “Don’t Cry Daddy. “‘In the Ghetto’ was done for charity for Presley Place, which was a transitional housing program.

The sinking of the SS Andrea Doria remains one of the most infamous shipwrecks of the 20th century and, somehow, it collided with the career of Elvis Presley. One of the survivors of the disaster co-wrote Elvis’ “Hound Dog” and other hit songs. During an interview, the songwriter said he received major news about the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll after surviving the shipwreck and making it back to land.
The writer of Elvis Presley’s ‘Hound Dog’ went on an infamous boat after getting paid
Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller were one of the most influential songwriting duos from the 1950s. They are probably most known for writing Elvis songs such as “Bossa Nova Baby,” “Love Me,” and “Hound Dog.” They also wrote tunes for The Coasters, The Drifters, and Ben E. King.
During a 2020 interview with Elvis Australia, Stoller discussed why he was on the SS Andrea Doria.

Elvis Presley‘s “Good Luck Charm” is one of the many Elvis hits that the world forgot. Notably, the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll felt two songwriters were his good luck charms. They had nothing to do with the song, which became a sad demarcation point in the singer’s career.
Who wrote Elvis Presley’s ‘Good Luck Charm’
Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller wrote many Elvis tunes. During a 2020 interview with Elvis Australia, Stoller discussed Elvis. “He respected us,” Stoller recalled. “We came to know what a great talent he was very quickly after starting to work with him. Elvis Presley‘s “Hound Dog” wasn’t originally by Elvis. The tune was written in 10 or 15 minutes. Subsequently, one of the writers of the song said it had to be performed in a specific way.

Fat bottomed girls might make the rockin’ world go ‘round, but they won’t be helping Queen sell more albums, as the 1978 song has been axed from a recent greatest hits collection aimed at children.
Released on Yoto, an audio platform directed at a kid audience, Queen – Greatest Hits Volume 1 is nearly identical to the 1981 album – the best-selling album in the U.K. ever – with the exception of “Fat Bottomed Girls”, which used to be between “Killer Queen” and “Bicycle Race”, ironically the song it shared a double A-side with upon release. Together, the single hit #11 in the U.K. and #24 in the U.S., going on to become double platinum.
The website has the following disclaimer to accompany the Queen release: “Note: Please note that the lyrics in some of these songs contain adult themes, including occasional references to violence and drugs. These are the original and unedited recordings.

2021 was unquestionably the Summer of Cena, as John Cena appeared in "Fast 9," "The Suicide Squad," and the truly delightful "Vacation Friends." The latter was, in this writer's opinion, the first comedy film since "Blockers" that truly knew how to play to Cena's comedic strengths as a leading man, and pairing him alongside Lil Rel Howery ("Get Out'), Yvonne Orji ("Insecure"), and Meredith Hagner ("Search Party") was a recipe for comedy gold. The film was a huge hit on Hulu, snagging a sequel greenlight less than a month after its debut on the Disney-owned streamer. Less than two years later, the foursome is back for "Vacation Friends 2," reuniting with writer-director Clay Tarver in the process.
The sequel picks up a few months after the first film, which saw Ron (Cena) and a pregnant Kyla (Hagner) finally tying the knot, doing so with their new friends Marcus (Howery) and Emily (Orji) by their side.

Dolly Parton is not ready to retire and she recently opened up that she doesn’t plan on ever doing it. In fact, Parton talked about how she would like to do and she hopes it happens while she’s performing.
“I would never retire,” she told Ken Bruce during an interview on Greatest Hits Radio. “I’ll just hopefully drop dead in the middle of a song onstage someday, hopefully, one I’ve written. But anyway, that’s how I hope to go because we don’t have much of a choice in that.”
The singer continued, “As long as I’m able to work, as long as my health is good and my husband is good, the only way that I would ever slow down would be for that reason.”
Parton then added that “In the meantime, I’m going to make hay while the sun shines.”

In most Accused episodes, there is someone to place blame on, whether in part or wholly.
That was a hard thing to do on Accused Accused Season 1 Episode 15, where Billy struggled to ensure that he left a great musical legacy while ensuring his son didn't ruin everything he'd worked so hard to achieve.
What made this a hard one to take a stand on was the fact that addiction was involved, and I treat addiction to anything as a disease over which many people have little control.
Yet, on the other hand, there are some actions that addicts take that have real consequences on those around them that make it hard to sympathize with them no matter how much one understands their plight.
What stood out was that we picked up this story too far into the lives of Billy, Leo, and the family.

Adrian Miller is full of stories. Throughout our hourlong conversation in Rolling Stone’s midtown office, almost every name mentioned evokes a colorful anecdote of his experience with them. The ‘90s are reductively branded by rap’s so-called East Coast-West Coast beef; It would make casual followers think hip-hop was siloed into bi-coastal industries. But there were people around like the LA-based Miller, an industry veteran who was around for the early chapters of both Wu-Tang and Death Row Records as a radio host and A&r at Loud Records,...

Ken Bruce has given his first interview since his exit from BBC Radio 2.
The veteran broadcaster, 72, left the station earlier this month, after hosting its mid-morning show for 31 years.
He is moving to commercial station Greatest Hits Radio, with a new show launching there on 3 April. Vernon Kay, 48, is stepping into Bruce’s shoes to host Radio 2’s mid-morning programme.
In February, Bruce revealed that BBC bosses had asked him to leave three weeks earlier than planned, instead of continuing until 24 March, when his contract ended.
Reports at the time suggested that this decision was made in an effort to stop him from publicising his new Greatest Hits show on Radio 2.
In a new interview with The Times, Bruce has now said of the enforced early exit: “I was annoyed because I thought, ‘I’m reasonable. I’m not being difficult. Neither were you…’ I think the idea...

Get ready to once again be hypnotized by John Lurie’s soothing way of working with watercolors, because HBO has renewed “Painting With John” for a second season, the pay TV channel said Tuesday.
Per the official description for the unscripted series, which premiered in January: Season one of “Painting With John” featured musician, actor, director and painter John Lurie ensconced at his worktable, honing his intricate watercolor techniques and sharing reflections on what he’s learned about life. Combining images of Lurie’s paintings, original music and irreverent point of view on tapping into your childlike artist side, his overall ambivalence toward fame, and more, the series serves as a reminder to prioritize a little time every day for creativity, fun and a bit of mischief.
“There’s something so hypnotic and captivating about John’s style,” Nina Rosenstein, executive vice president of HBO Programming, said in a statement accompanying the renewal news.
