The 14th annual Screamfest La film festival kicks off on October 14th, and they've now announced their "Shorts to Die For" lineup of 40 short films from all across the globe. Read on for the details!

The guys at Grimm Up North have announced their bloodiest, best, most brilliant Grimmfest line up yet! This year they will be hosting some of the greatest in horror, sci-fi and cult features and short films from around the globe. Says Grimmfest Festival Director Simeon Halligan:
We always try to make each Grimmfest bigger than the last and I think this year has been really strong for independent horror and genre titles, I’m really excited by what were going to screen at Grimmfest, I’m convinced its our best line up yet!

Last week the opening night events for Grimmfest 2014 were announced, and now we're back with the full lineup, which includes several films we've been keeping our eyes on like Housebound, Zombeavers, WolfCop, Starry Eyes, Coherence, Devil's Mile, Sororal, and Many more!

The Lower East Side Film Festival has announced their lineup, as well as judges and panels, for their 2014 festival, which runs from June 12-22. Documentary film "The Sturgeon Queens," about famous specialty shop Russ & Daughters, will show opening night. Some highlights include "Glass Night," an event hosted by Google that will give guests the chance to see the films created using Google Glass, and "Gay Night," a rooftop pool party that will also host the premiere of "Dragula," starring Cheyenne Jackson and Carmen Electra. Other films showing include: "Home," starring Naya Rivera ("Glee"), "We'll Never Have Paris" with Zachary Quinto and Alfred Molina, "The Visitant" with Amy Smart, the U.S. premiere of "Sidewalk Traffic" and the animated film "The Missing Scarf." Other websites choose not to post about certain genre Kickstarter projects because of the accessibility it gives to aspiring and even established directors. Some view it as a “handout”, I don’t feel that way. Horror has always felt very communal to me. Fans of the genre stick together through thick or thin. There are success stories and there are also horror stories of the platform and rarely do genre sites post follow up posts about the Kickstarter projects they post after the deadline passes.
