I realize that the third installment of this may take some time, but having seen the first two, I am very much looking forward to the final movie!
First, as much as I disagree with the poor rating by the only other review I see here so far, I will agree with that reviewer on one thing - Jason Day-Boisvert is a great actor, and I feel his skills in acting surpass his skills at writing/directing/producing/etc. However, I do not feel that he is nearly as lacking as the other reviewer would suggest.
We all do what we can with what we have, and all of Day-Boisvert's films have been made, as I understand from what I've seen on YouTube, on NO budget whatsoever. Given that limitation, I feel that this, as well as his other films, were extremely well done. Are they perfect? No. And I also feel that this was a much better film than the first Ghost Footage movie. Day-Boisvert and his team obviously learn and improve as they practice, and what more can be asked of anyone?
The timing could have been tightened for some scenes, but on the flipside, the scenes that could have been tightened were the... well, without giving spoilers, the scenes where the two main cast members weren't the ones doing the filming. And honestly, I think the very disconnected and NON-tightened aspect for those scenes made them even more convincing.
My only real complaint is that the sound could have been cleaner - removing the hiss of the camera and ambient noise. I know this was supposed to be a Found Footage film, but sometimes, the hiss almost overpowered the dialogue.
As mentioned, Day-Boisvert is a great actor, with a lot of character, very expressive, and very fun to watch. Having seen others of his films on YouTube, he's someone I'd enjoy meeting. I was, however, completely captivated by Edward P. Hatfield, and I couldn't take my eyes off of him. He's another great actor, and I hope to see him in more of these films in the future (though, imo, it wouldn't hurt him to make more use of his hairbrush, or something like that). Joking aside, both he and Day-Boisvert look really great in this film.
The production team of Jason Day-Boisvert and A.J. Klassen do well together, and it's great seeing how their movies improve over time. I really hope we see more from this troupe!
