Big Fat Stone is well-written and beautifully shot. When one considers how this movie was made and for what it was made, I am all the more impressed. The acting is well-done, even down to the bit characters. I was particularly impressed with Frank D'Angelo since that was the first time I saw him as an actor.

I liked the movie Big Fat Stone, but I think the plot was too emotional. In some of the scenes it felt like telenovela. I know that this is a drama, and therefore it has too bee too emotional, but I think it was way too much. Other than that, I enjoyed the movie and I recommend you to watch it if you have the chance.

So I have watched Big Fat Stone a few days ago. Did I love that movie? Well… I must admit that I have mixed feelings about it. On one hand, the film was thrilling, dramatic and comic, and if you are looking for pure entertainment then that movie would probably meet your expectations. But on the other hand I was disappointed from the low level of the production.

Although I don't expect much from independent films, this time I hoped for more. Maybe this is because I have watched Real Gangsters only about a month ago and I loved that movie so much that I hoped D'Angelo will have more budget this time…

But the movie itself was good - The cast are amazing and the story is beautiful and yet something was missing

Finally got to watch it. I have watched it yesterday on Bell TV and pretty liked it, having said that… I can understand some of the negative results it got. The movie is well shot, visually enticing with good acting. I love those guys - Robert Loggia, Steven Ray Abruzzo, Nick Mancuso, Tony Nardi and all the others… Frank D'Angelo was also particularly good in his role. Yet, you could feel that this movie is a low budget movie. It seems like they made so many small mistakes such as continuity issues and others. For those of you who are looking for "nothing but a pure entertainment" this one is definitely the one as it has all you need for a nice evening with your date/spouse. You will enjoy the plot and not even for a moment you will be bored, but for those of you who are looking for perfection, well… I don't think this one is for you.

I just finished watching Big fat stone after reading some of the reviews here. Like many of you, I also didn't know what to expect due to the mixed opinions… and like many of you I liked that movie BUT at the same time I can't rate it more than a 6…

Why? Let's start with the good things - The cinematography was good. The acting is superb and even minor roles are detailed and convincing.

However, I found the plot as a bit of a mess. You don't really understand what is the connections between the two stories and it seems like a lot of information is missing.

Other than that the movie was good, but script is a big component in my opinion...

Hi all, This is my first review ever, and please accept my apology but I'm not familiar with the industry jargon… I watched the movie Big Fat Stone after reading some of the reviews here, and I did not know what to expect due to the mixed opinions. Luckily Big Fat Stone did not disappoint me. As mentioned before, I am not an expert in writing reviews… so I'll just write my honest opinion about this movie: The plot is nice, the movie is well shot, the music is fantastic. I also liked the chemistry of the entire cast. Having said that, I felt that some of the actors played a bit over dramatic and not natural. Yet, I enjoyed it due to the beautiful script that made me laugh and cry at the same time. Overall I enjoyed watching this movie, and I recommend you to watch it.

I'm writing this review after reading some of the other reviews here, and it seems like viewers either love it or hate it. So I loved it, but at the same time I can understand some of the bad reviews. I watched this movie a few days ago, and the reason I didn't write until now, is because I believe a good movie "stays" in your head for a few days after you watch it, and surprisingly, Big Fat Stone has been stuck in my head for the past few days, especially because of the ending. I actually found myself thinking about it and wondering what did D'Angelo mean by this ending… And that's the reason I loved that movie. However, on the other side, the acting was good but not excellent, you could see that this is a low budget production and I may even say an immature one. To sum up – the script is good, and overall I have enjoyed this movie, so if you are looking for a cute movie, it worth a shot!

This is a terrible movie.

The plot makes no sense with a terrible script or possibly no script at all. There is no direction at all as far as I can tell. The star is laughably bad with almost no acting ability. The music is terrible from start to finish.

And all of this makes sense. Why? Because the same guy, Frank D'Angelo, did all of those jobs.

The other actors, and there are a couple decent ones here and there, are noteworthy and have ability but they have nothing to work with here (I refer you back to the nonsensical amateurish script/plot).

Nothing to see here. This isn't even really something that should qualify as a 'movie' in my humble opinion.

This movie is the film equivalent of projectile vomiting all over your television screen. Frank D'Angelo (the guy who buys ad time to air his own "talk show" on late night Hamilton TV) is the writer, director, producer, star and the entire soundtrack is him singing songs, I'm sure he has a dozen more credits too..... catering? Location manager? Anyway he plays a homeless man who has absolutely nothing to live for but a heart of gold. Anyway one night a gigantic ruby falls presumably from the sky and lands right in his lap in the gutter. So now he's rich and can afford to help people because he's such a great guy. Unfortunately the guys who lost the gigantic ruby want it back and will hunt him down to get it. That's pretty much it. Predictable, terrible writing and even worse acting, and the soundtrack made my ears bleed. Avoid at all costs. He has other movies too but I obviously will not be watching any of them.

I watched the movie BIG Fat Stone lately, and it wasn't bad at all. I have read some of the reviews here and didn't know what to expect (due to the mixed opinions) and luckily it wasn't a waste of time at all.

I enjoyed the plot very much. I think the actors played very well. Especially I enjoyed the gangsters 'scenes. The chemistry of the cast is fantastic and made me laugh a lot.

The only thing that had upset me was the ending. I hate these kinds of ending. I won't be a spoiler, so I can't tell you why… but I was very disappointed.

Overall - this is a good movie and most of the reviewers love the ending... I do recommend you to watch it

First of all I must say that I am one of Frank D'Angelo fans. I just love his music! Therefore it is only natural that I'd love his movies as well. I watched Real Gangsters and watched Big fat stone and I love them both, but I like Big fat stone much more!

Why did I love the movie? First of all the cast was awesome it seems like each actor fit the character he portrayed perfectly. Second – I just love the story. It is a simple beautiful story and I prefer stories like that than the sophisticated ones. Third, the music!!! As mentioned, I'm a fan. Just love this music!!!

I found great pleasure in watching this movie. It was entertaining and funny at times. I enjoyed the cast. Loved the script and extremely enjoyed the music. I would have liked to have seen more action, more glory type of thing but the film as a whole was quite good. I read about the film prior to watching and it surprised me that this is a low budget film, I can see that this is not a Hollywood production, but for a low budget film it is unbelievably a very good production. Overall, this is a great film, very entertaining, if you have the time, I highly recommend you to watch it as long as it is available on Rogers on Demand.

I loved this movie. I watched it yesterday on Rogers on demands and really enjoyed it. I found the script funny and entertaining and I loved the cast. What a great cast! They were a true fit for their roles and the film in general. The criminal scenes were so funny that I couldn't stop laughing and when I did, I started crying in the beautiful scenes with Rizzo and Rosie. It may not be an Oscar winner movie, but for an independent movie this one is very good. I always love movies that keep you entertained and keep you guessing, and this movie scores a 10 in both. To sum-up – watch this movie! It is definitely worth it. I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

Just watched Big fat stone yesterday and this movie had me going from the very start. I absolutely enjoyed it. It was a thrill to watch it! The cast was incredible. My personal favorite by the way was Tony Nardi. Love him!

I found that movie as well shot and the fact this is an independent movie didn't bother me at all. Maybe this is due to the good story that captured my attention or the amazing cast, but I couldn't tell this is a low budget film.

I'm very happy to report that the movie Big fat stone exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend about it.

Call me crazy… but I love Canadian movies. I think that there's nothing like watching a movie filled with Canadian actors. I prefer watching Canadian movies than watching Hollywood Oscar winning movies… but that's only me. Anyway, as a Canadian movies fan, I really enjoyed this movie.. I enjoyed the acting very much. Loved the script and especially the fact that the film had two different stories and only at the end all seemed to come to a light but actually left us with questions about what we may think the conclusion really was and why. The only reason I don't give this movie a 10 score, is because I didn't like the fact that D'Angelo pretended the plot happens in New York and not in Canada, but I guess that this is show biz

I've heard so much about this movie and finally got to see it. I have watched it on Bell TV, with my wife and we both have enjoyed this movie very much. We enjoyed the plot, the intensity of the scenes and of the characters, we laughed at some of the scenes and my wife cried at others (women…)

The only problem I see is that I couldn't tell exactly what genre this movie is…It is written as a drama but has some characters of a mob film, and yet, this is definitely not classic mob film. Although I sort of like that fact… I find it as confusing. After all, I wanted to watch that movie from the first place, but if I was looking for a classic drama I would definitely disappointed.

Hi Folks, I have watched Big Fat Stone lately on Rogers on Demands after reading some of the reviews here and to tell you the truth I was a bit skeptical; it is, after all, a low-budget film, and they usually too self-obsessed to be taken seriously. However, I was in for a wonderful surprise. This movie is not bad at all. It is well-written and beautifully shot. When one considers this is an independents low budget film, I am all the more impressed. The acting is well-done, I was particularly impressed with Frank D'Angelo. He plays very natural. I liked the script, this movie is entertaining ...and entertain is what it does throughout the movie...there is not a point where u feel bored… So overall I highly recommend about that movie. I rate it as 9, even though it is not perfect since I am very impressed by the fact that this is a low budget film.

So I watched Big Fat Stone yesterday and I totally loved it. It is sorted as a drama movie but it is more like an entertaining action flick with a sprinkle of drama, comedy and even fantasy. The cast is fantastic, they played so well. I laughed a lot, especially during the great "criminals' scenes" and almost cried in so many emotional scenes that have been played by Frank D'Angelo. I must add that the actor D'Angelo is really good; natural and accurate acting. It seems like he is a very experience and mature actor. Overall, Big Fat Stone is a fantastically entertaining film. Not only is this film is dramatically satisfying, but also quite humorous and a funny, I encourage all to see it.

I enjoyed this movie. As an independent movie it is not bad at all. The cast was extremely vast and each actor fit the character they portrayed perfectly. The script is very good and captivating. I like its simplicity, kind of reminded me the "old movies" before the 3D and "special effect" era. Sometimes I miss these kinds of movies because they emphasis the story line and not the special effects. I really liked this story and it left a big impression on myself for days. I've also noticed that unlike many movies, the music was constant throughout the film and it is really nice. I love that. The ending was good, a little confusing though… I would definitely watch this one again!

I've heard about Frank D'Angelo just recently and couldn't believe that he wrote, directed and played as if he works in that industry for ages. The rest of the cast were fantastic as well. They played so natural, accurate and convincing. The plot itself is very cute – a nice combination of a mob film with a "male version" of a Cinderella love story. Very cute, you've got to love it! Really enjoyed it and I highly recommend watching this movie.

So I watched Big Fat Stone two days ago, and I have decided to rate it as 8. I really appreciated the cinematography throughout this movie and enjoyed the chemistry between the characters. I also liked the script and enjoyed the two plots that seemed to be parallel and only at the end you could see the connection, but I didn't like the ending. It was very disappointing. I expected for something different and sort of disappointed from the ending. But I guess this is only me as I can see that most of the reviewers loved the ending…

Anyway, to sum up - This is a nice movie, with great actors, beautiful story, good music and you probably going to like it too. Personally I didn't like the ending but as mentioned before, that's only my opinion.

So I watched the movie Big Fat Stone and here is my opinion: First off, I have to say that this is a good movie. Both my hubby and I liked this movie a lot, because it was engaging and well paced. The plot was beautiful and the actors were amazing. I liked the fact that it has two parallel stories, that until the end you have no idea what are the connections between two of them. I liked the gangsters scenes a lot, they just made me laugh… I also enjoyed the love story between Rosie and Rizzo. Such a pure and simple love story. It was a bit too emotional in my opinion, and yet I liked it. To sum up – Have a nice evening with your spouse and rent this movie. It is really cute one

I totally loved this movie!!! I watched it 3 times already and I think I'm in love with Frank D'Angelo… Well don't take it wrong, I'm not a stupid teenager, but something in this simple and pure love story just made me feel like one…

And now seriously, I enjoyed Big Fat Stone very much. I loved the story (yes, especially the love story) I found this movie well shot and I think the cast were awesome. Loved the gangsters' scenes as well since they were so funny. Not a lot of people mentioned this – but the music is beautiful as well, I've already bought the disk and really enjoy listening to you.

I have one comment - I love the story and yet feel there are so much more unsolved issues. I think D'Angelo had to give it much more thinking. I think it is not completed the way it is now (and I saw it 3 times)

Well, I didn't really wanted to watch that video, since I don't like the "independent movies" genera but my boyfriend asked me to watch it with him and I totally loved it! I The film itself, as a film, was awesome! The visuals and soundtrack were captivating and lavish. The acting was great overall, as you can trust these actors to deliver. I must say that I was totally impressed by Frank D'Angelo, I have heard about him but I couldn't believe that someone like him can do both directing and acting in such an excellent way. I think he wrote the script as well… And talking about the script, I loved it; I loved its simplicity, not too complicated or sophisticated plot, but a nice, plain, captivating plot that keep you entertained and yet keep you wondering about the ending. Just pure fun and a must see movie.

I think the best part is the script - just loved the script – a pure plain story with a surprising ending. I liked the two parallel plots that until the ending you couldn't really understand what the connection between both of them is, and the ending was a big surprise. Great plot, great movie, watch it.
