Zombies vs. Joe Alien: Better than it perhaps should have been
Platypuschow20 November 2017
Zombies vs Joe Alien otherwise known as Alien vs Zombies is comedy above all else. Though it does contain adult humor this is a very light hearted affair.

Telling the story of Joe, an alien who comes to earth on holiday during the zombie apocalypse and using his time travel powers seeks to save the world.

It's cheesy, it looks like a Scyfy original but it has a real charm about it and some of the humor is oddly on point.

It's one of those films that should have been terrible but by hook or by crook it actually came out half way decent.

The cover is a lie, the zombies don't look anywhere near that good, Joe doesn't look like that (No veins, no glowing eyes, no face paint) and it's far lighter than the intense cover suggests.

Go in with no expectations and you might find a laugh but do not watch on the hopes of it being a zombie movie because it truly isn't.

The Good:

Some great humor

Brilliant Quantum leap homage

The Bad:

Poor zombies

Dishonest cover

Not what I expected.

But in a good goofy way. Let me start by saying the acting is not good, but my husband and I actually enjoyed this movie. An Alien that loves Earth finally gets his chance to come here for his version of Spring Break and finds out that he's right in the middle of the Zombie Apocalypse (bummer) The lead actor plays this fish out of water role quite well in spite of the dialogue and actually seems to be having fun with role. But all in all, it was good time. We chuckled a bit through it and when it ended, my husband and I both had come to the same conclusion. "It's cute"

I want to meet Snookie the Alien

Warning: Spoilers
Just like peanut butter and chocolate, how can one go wrong combing aliens and zombies...oops my bad one alien named Joe (Alex Knapp). Our alien arrives in New Jersey (10-31-2014) in a Mark Wahlberg space pod during the zombie apocalypse. He meets Parker (Siena Tickle) and others and needs to go back in time to save the planet.

Joe, the alien, traveled "light years" from Sedna, the farthest planet in our solar system. The acting was was horrible all around. The dialogue which was meant to be funny, making pop culture references that fell flat and was amateurish. They couldn't even maintain that aspect.

Guide: F-word. Near sex. No nudity. 3 stars
