A nearsighted bookkeeper completely wrecks the office with an ax while chasing a butterfly, but when he unexpectedly comes into some money, he is seen at a fashionable seaside resort trying to win the heart of a beautiful girl.
Story of a bookkeeper who has been fourteen years on the job and is getting sick of being a slave. A comedy routine wherein he wrecks the office trying to kill a butterfly that has entered the room. The Boss gives him some valuable papers. He is in love with the Boss's daughter. Villain gets papers and he is fired. Meets a man who he thinks is going to arrest him but turns out to be a lawyer with a legacy for him. He tells the girl goodbye and she tells him to become a man of position and she will wait. He puts on a lot of dig and comes to a fine hotel. But decided to get a job as a bellboy and prove he is a real man.
