This film takes you past all the most famous castles, each of which is the subject of hundreds of legends. First, we see Koenigswinter and the crumbling ruins of the Dragon's Rock. In quick succession follow Linz, Anderach and the Fortress of Ehren-breitstein. Next comes one of the most famous sights of the Rhine, the monument to Emperor William. And then the Lorelei, the Oberweisel, and the ruins of Schonburg, and, passing through the Rhine Palatine, we come upon Kaub and the Castle of Gutenfels. Amongst others we see the famous Rheinstein and Sonneck castles, and, finally, at Bingen itself, the Mouse, or Hatto's, Tower, and the vineyards of Redesheim. This film is pregnant with interest, giving a true representation of the splendid scenery of this magnificent and incomparable river, and calling to mind the innumerable tales and myths of quaint old German folklore, which spreads its misty veil upon the dark and mysterious waters.
