'Claycat's The Thing (2012)' is a remake of 'Thingu (2012)' (also known as 'Pingu's The Thing (2012)') that was created because the original short was forcibly removed from YouTube due to some arguably unfair legal issues. It's pretty much the same thing as that short, a claymation retelling of John Carpenter's 'The Thing (1982)'. It's a simple, succinct and successful endeavour. The animation is rough yet enjoyable, with the cute characters contrasting nicely with the graphic gore. It's an entertaining short film. It's worth noting that the original short has been reuploaded as 'Pingu's The Thing (2020)' in a remastered form, too. 7/10.
