The First Terror with Adrian Zmed and Lewis Smith (2014)
*** 1/2 (out of 4)
This sixteen-minute featurette can be found on the Shout Factory! release of THE FINAL TERROR, the 1983 slasher directed by Andrew Davis. The actors start off talking about what made them get into the business and from here the main focus shifts to the film in question. Smith mentions that he had never acted previously and jokingly talks about him thinking to himself whether he should take a horror film. From here both actors share stories about the production including what a difficult shoot it was and how the director and producer would punish them by taking lines away if they complained about the conditions. Smith also tells a pretty funny story of a couple cast members being taken to the hospital after someone put marijuana in their brownies. THE FINAL TERROR was a pretty weak slasher in my opinion but it did feature several now famous faces as well as a director who would go on to make THE FUGITIVE. The two men share some pretty funny stories about the making of the film and it seems both are very happy that they were in it considering it helped get them started.
