- [last lines]
- Officer Shepherd: [Officer Shepherd screams out with her group drawing weapons out from behind her] No! Hold your fire! It's over. It was just about her. Stand down.
- [Daryl and Rick begin to cry with tears rolling down]
- Officer Shepherd: You can stay.
- Dr. Steven Edwards: We're surviving here. It's better here than out there.
- Rick Grimes: No. And I'm taking anybody back there who wants to leave. If you want to come with us... just step forward now.
- [Noah is the only one to step forward as Daryl carries Beth's body out of the hospital]
- [first lines]
- Rick Grimes: [Rick chases down Officer Lamson with a police car, talking to him on the police speaker] Stop. Stop right now. Stop. I won't ask again.
- Sgt. Bob Lamson: [Rick revs up the police car engine at Lamson] Oh, shit!
- [Rick runs down Officer Lamson from behind and gets out of the vehicle]
- Sgt. Bob Lamson: [Officer Lamson pants in pain] Son of a bitch. You son of a bitch. Help me. Son of a bitch. Help me. You crazy - You crazy son of a bitch. I think - I think you broke my back.
- Rick Grimes: [Rick kneels over Lamson who's quickly bleeding out] It didn't have to be like this. You just had to stop.
- Sgt. Bob Lamson: I couldn't. I don't know you. But I think - I think I'm getting the idea.
- Rick Grimes: You just had to stop.
- Sgt. Bob Lamson: Take me back. Take me back to the hospital. I did it for your friend.
- Rick Grimes: Not after this, no. You can't go back, Bob.
- Sgt. Bob Lamson: I was gonna iron it over. She's under it. And you've been out here too long.
- Sgt. Bob Lamson: [Rick pulls out his gun] You'll die. You'll all...
- Rick Grimes: [Rick pulls the trigger] Shut up.
- [Officer Dawn gets in a debate with Officer O'Donnell in front of the elevator shaft with Beth by her side]
- Officer Dawn Lerner: [Dawn begins pointing out O'Donnell's obscene behavior to him] We're supposed to protect people. To help them. But look at you. You're beating the old man. You're laughing with your buddies about that poor girl getting raped. That's who you are now.
- Officer O'Donnell: So who the hell are you?
- Officer Dawn Lerner: [Dawn pulls out her weapon at Officer O'Donnell] Somebody who's not gonna let it happen anymore.
- Officer O'Donnell: So that's what this is about. It's about holding on to what you have.
- Officer Dawn Lerner: [Dawn aims the gun looking more frightened] What the hell do I have?
- Officer O'Donnell: This isn't you. After Hanson, you changed.
- [Officer O'Donnell takes a quick charge towards Dawn as the two get in a giant hitting match]
- Officer O'Donnell: [O'Donnell screams to Dawn] You think you're better than us?
- Officer O'Donnell: [Beth tries to stop O'Donnell from choking Dawn when O'Donnell knocks Beth to the floor screaming] Stay in your lane bitch!
- Officer Dawn Lerner: [Dawn punches O'Donnell in the throat and screams to Beth when she see's Beth has a chance to push O'Donnell down into the open elevator shaft] Beth!
- [Beth then pushes O'Donnell down into the open elevator shaft of walkers at the bottom]
- [Officer Dawn stops the trade from being completed with her and Rick having both of their hands on their guns]
- Officer Dawn Lerner: [Dawn shouts out to Rick's back from down the hallway] Now I just need Noah. And then you can leave.
- Rick Grimes: That wasn't part of the deal.
- Officer Dawn Lerner: Noah was my ward. Beth took his place and I'm losing her so I need him back.
- Officer Shepherd: Ma'am, please, it's not...
- Officer Dawn Lerner: [Dawn quickly snaps back at her fellow officer] Shut up!
- Officer Dawn Lerner: My officers put their lives on the line for him. One of them died.
- Daryl Dixon: [Daryl walks over to Dawn] No, he ain't staying.
- Officer Dawn Lerner: He's one of mine. You have no claim on him.
- Rick Grimes: The boy wants to go home, so you have no claim on him.
- Officer Dawn Lerner: Well, then we don't have a deal.
- Rick Grimes: The deal is done.
- Noah: It's okay.
- Rick Grimes: No, no.
- Noah: [Noah begins to walk back to Dawn's group] I got to do it.
- Beth Greene: It's not okay.
- Officer Dawn Lerner: It's settled.
- Beth Greene: [Beth runs up to give Noah a hug] Wait!
- Noah: [Noah gives Beth a shoulder hug back] It's okay.
- Officer Dawn Lerner: [Dawn looks over to Noah and whispers] I knew you'd be back.
- Beth Greene: [Beth looks over to Dawn and begins walking over to Dawn with tears in her eyes whispering back] I get it now.
- [Beth stabs Dawn in the chest with a pair of scissors when Dawn almost immediately pulls the trigger to her gun at Beth's head]
- Beth Greene: [Dawn tries to shout that it was an accident when Daryl shoots her in the head]
- [Beth asks Dawn about the photograph in her office]
- Beth Greene: Is this Captain Hanson?
- Officer Dawn Lerner: Did someone say something to you about him?
- Beth Greene: Just that he use to be in charge.
- Officer Dawn Lerner: Well, you'll hear stories about him. About me. About what I did. he was my mentor. My friend. I miss him. That's the part that the stories leave out.
- Beth Greene: What happened to him?
- Officer Dawn Lerner: They risk their lives every time they go out there. It has to be worth it. It has to matter. He lost sight of that. So he lost them. Beth, in this job you don't need their love... but you have to have their respect. Otherwise, the day is gonna come where you need backup and you don't have it. And what comes next? Everybody goes down. Hanson lost his way. That's what happened.
- [Officer Dawn talks to Beth about the people who leave the hospital]
- Beth Greene: I'm gonna get out. Just like Noah.
- Officer Dawn Lerner: He'll be back.
- Beth Greene: He's going home.
- Officer Dawn Lerner: They always come back. They don't ever get far because they can't. But really... they don't want to.
- Beth Greene: He's going home.
- Officer Dawn Lerner: [Dawn takes a pause and smiles at Beth] I was like you when I was younger. Nobody could tell me anything. I'm not stupid. You know her.
- Officer Dawn Lerner: [Dawn looks over to Carol when Beth's expression freezes] And somehow you both round up here. Maybe that means something. Beth, you can be a part of this. Both of you. This is important. Maybe the most important thing you do in your life. And what you did back there... Gorman and O'Donnell hurt people. The world didn't lose anything when they died. And you're wrong about what happened. I didn't use you. And I will remember.
