For the two aerial shots in the beginning of the film, the crew found a pilot through a chain of connections in a matter of 4 hours before the shoot. The aerial shoot was never planned in the shot list but was an accepted challenge after the lead male actor said it would be impossible to do.
The director wanted to make a film with a tandem bike because he had so much fun renting and riding one with his girlfriend (now wife). Soon after their rental, they purchased their own tandem bike off Craigslist and found a writer to help concept the story from the ground up.
When the main character, Derek, creates the poster for the tandem bike taxi service, it's actually the director's crafting the poster on his dining table.
The two undercover police interceptors seen in the film (chase scene and after witnessing the proposal) belonged to one of the cinematographers, Nathan. They are both decked out in lights, radio, cage, and siren.
The cast and crew had to tough it out of some extreme weather filming with two morning shoots at 40 degrees.
