- TriviaAlthough the production crew tried to hide it by the placement of police vans, one can see that the house behind the hostage standoff is the home used for Col. Raymond in the previous "The Silver Briefcase". The home the bank robbers have taken the elderly couple hostage is also the home of the Hecks in the sit-com The Middle (2009).
- Quotes
Teresa Lisbon: Hey. Where have you been?
Patrick Jane: [setting a box of mints on the table] For your pillow.
Teresa Lisbon: Pillow mints. Thank you.
Patrick Jane: I also got us a reservation this weekend at the Alhambra. Resort-ish style place, room service, high thread count sheets. I think you're gonna like it.
Teresa Lisbon: You didn't have to do that.
Patrick Jane: No, I didn't. But I want to spend some time alone with you and that should be some place that you like.
Teresa Lisbon: Well, are you gonna like it? It doesn't sound very rustic.
Patrick Jane: Yeah, I'll find a tree.

I was hooked since season 1 of The Mentalist and I really enjoyed every single episode in the last 6 years but I have to say the last one was special.
It's rare that a show manages to invoke such feelings. The performances of Baker, Tunney, Kang etc., the script, the photography...everything was top notch. The last minutes of this episode (after the case is solved) make for an instant classic in my book. It was touching and moving in a special way. Other shows are just not able to accomplish this.
I will miss this show like hell but I agree: it's better to finish on your apex than to go on til nobody wants to see it anymore.
Just do yourself a favor and binge watch The Mentalist. Watch this episode and tell me it didn't hit home. It may not be the easiest path to end this show but it's the only satisfying and believable way. I'm looking forward to the last three episodes and I'm already sure the end will kick me in the guts...but in a good way, just like this episode. That's the best thing I can hope for with a TV show and I'm absolutely positive The Mentalist can deliver. Let me get emotional one more time by watching the characters who grew to me so much. I'm sure I won't regret it.
