What a spectacular final scene. Never seen anything like it before.

This show gets better and better with every episode. I can't believe the extraordinary leaps the Wachowskis are taking with this show. They display life in a whole different way than I've ever seen, quite literally in this episode. The final scene brought me to tears.

Granted yes it's very graphic. But life is graphic. The Wachowskis are making one of the most honest and powerful shows I've ever seen and I applaud them for doing that. I hear they have 5 season of the show mapped out and I can't wait to see what else they have to show me.

If you've only seen the first episode and you though it sucked I agree. It's one of those shows that takes a while to get it's feet off the ground. But trust me it gets so much better. It tackles real life issues and really makes you wonder about the things that are possible in this world.

So Amazing!

Warning: Spoilers
This episode was so many things! It was beautiful and tragic! This, I believe, is the first time all of the sensates gather, and it is to experience different culture!!

Now that the confusion of "what the hell is going on," has subsided, each sensate find their strongest attributes, and selflessly help their cluster mates.

The fight scenes were completely awesome! The orchestra concert was beautiful <3 This is definitely an episode which should be watched a minimum of 3 times.

Not terrible, but extremely overrated
TheDonaldofDoom3 December 2017
Warning: Spoilers
The high 9.1 score I can only understand as a result of Sense8's small but highly passionate fanbase.

One problem with this episode is how it tries to conjure moments to stimulate a certain emotion, rather than making the emotion fit the event. During the concert, we see each sensate's birth and extended shots of each of their faces in the concert hall. Why are we seeing their births now? What does it have do to with the music? The Wachowskis are trying too hard to create an emotionally affecting moment for the sake of being emotionally affecting, and it shows.

Lito's redemption works as a character arc, but it's overly predictable. It makes sense for him as a character at least. The fight scene looked like something out of a B-movie, with overuse of slow motion and melodrama. The scene in which Lito assumes Wolfgang's body and uses his acting skills is rather good though.

Capheus's interaction with Kala was actually good, as Capheus makes an observation that a TV can be more important to you than a nice bed as it takes you out of the slum, whereas a bed keeps you in the slum.

Why this is the highest rated episode yet I have no idea, because it's subpar in my opinion.

My favorite episode of season 1
dewyspiderweb21 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This episode is very upbeat compared to the rest of the series, it's a nice break before some rising action at the end that leads to the climax and finale for season one.

The culmination of Lito's story and development is perhaps my favorite part of the season. Very well written and acted and satisfying to watch.

The joy shared by Will, Sun, and Capheus while they watch the fireworks is another beautiful moment that sticks with you.

I will say that showing the birth of all 8 sensates is certainly a choice. I'm not sure that its impact was what was intended but I do see the reasoning behind it. However I'm not sure the story would be overly impacted had it been left out.

Repetitive
Rongu_Jonzu30 June 2015
Noticed that when ever the Wachowskis have directed the episode it is a repeat from their previous ones. I agree the classical piece in the end is nice but 9.1. It is actually rather dull. . . . . . . Idea of the series is good but the storyline is weak and, lets face it, they are utterly boring and repetitive. One should expect the writers to get more out of this but it has been stuck going on circles and nothing is happening. I can't see the point for so much porn and long meaningless dialogues, musical pieces during which the mental state or feelings of a person are ripped in pieces. Cast is OK, characters are OK but something is still missing, I Would not recommend.

9.1 for this ep from users? Honestly ??
grhgulhan13 June 2015
Warning: Spoilers
it all started slow and boring, with boring personal stories being told again and again just like past episodes..

the part that lito faces who he is, and saves his friend, and wolfgang stands to the criminals, and how they exchange help is okay, even though some wording is awkward.. but where the heck did the classical concert scene came from? what with the vaginal birth scenes, bleeding female organs, ?? i simply felt disgusted, it was so out of place for this show, yes.. awkward sexual scenes have been there just thrown on our faces here and there almost randomly with very little sense.. but showing all 8 of the characters born, in gore and blood, in a ten minute session ...????????

i am curious, who is voting for this show? netflix has a network of people who is job is to place positive reviews? this episode gets a 1 from me... we shall see for the future

show began okay, then began to get on my nerves after third, and last few have been extremely testing my patience.. if i weren't curious whether the good concept and plot can be saved or not, and also for the sake of good filming qualities, and good acting from the main characters (not the rest) i would have long closed it for good.
