Fans of European mystery series may find the “Professor T” title familiar. That could be because the Belgian original which began in 2015, has spawned French, Czech, British and German versions. This review covers the third season of the last of those listed.
It seems as if ever since the huge success of Tony Shalhoub’s “Monk,” the idea of crime-solving cops or consultants with major psychological issues has blossomed globally. He wasn’t the first damaged-goods sleuth but probably the most popular, here and abroad. Professor T (Matthias Matschke) teaches criminology and regularly assists Cologne’s homicide unit despite massive emotional problems and a painful history that gradually unfolds during the series. He’s brilliant but somewhere on the Autism Spectrum. That, plus severe Ocd and recurring flashbacks and/or psychotic hallucinations, makes our Adrian Monk and...

Music composer-singer Mithoon and playback singer Armaan Malik have teamed up for ‘Wahi Toh Khuda Hai’ which hit the airwaves on Thursday. The music video of the song showcases a butterfly effect of kindness as it passes down from one person to the next, eventually spreading smiles as it makes the world a better place.
The song, which features both the artistes’ voices, is in a completely different zone as compared to their earlier songs.
Talking about the track, Armaan Malik said: “I was thrilled to collaborate with Mithoon on our very first single together. While we are known for our individual music sensibilities, ‘Wahi Toh Khuda Hai’ is the perfect track to bring that contrast together in a beautiful and harmonious melody. I’m truly glad to be a part of such a song.”
Mithoon said that the track is an unexpected piece of collaboration as it caught the audience by surprise.

Depicting the hard-hitting reality of social disparity at the times when borders were drawn within the country, Bheed, the Anubhav Sinha directed film starring Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekaer, is a story of the time when migrant workers were stranded without necessities, trying to find their way home in the middle of a nationwide lockdown.
What makes this so unique is that Bhushan Kumar and Anubhav Sinha’s upcoming social drama Bheed was filmed entirely in black and white.
To reveal more about the film, the makers have released a teaser, which is very intriguing. It features pictures, which look like they are from the 1947 India Partition are shockingly from the 2020 India Lockdown reminding similar times when people were uprooted from their homes.

Vanderpump Rules season 10 is well underway, and much has changed over the last year.
Three couples have ended their relationships. Lala Kent threw Randall Emmett to the curb after a cheating scandal, Raquel Leviss and James Kennedy broke off their engagement, and married couple Katie Maloney and Tom Schwartz decided to divorce.
The breakups mean more single people on Vanderpump Rules, creating some drama on the Bravo series. Some are beginning to date again, including Katie.
What happened between Tom Schwartz and Katie Maloney?
The relationship between Tom and Katie has always been a bit tumultuous, even before they tied the knot. But things took a turn for the worse when Tom decided to open a bar with his best friend Tom Sandoval.
The Toms were already junior partners in Tom Tom with Lisa Vanderpump. After that success, the two decided to open another bar.

The National have shared the next page in their upcoming album First Two Pages of Frankenstein today with the new single “New Order T-Shirt.”
“New Order T-Shirt” begins with a more traditional, folksy sound that might call to mind some of The National’s earlier works, gradually building into a passionate guitar ballad that evokes the intensity of memories shared with someone you miss dearly.
Frontman Matt Berninger brings these bittersweet themes to life with detailed vignettes: “How we wove through the cones walking home/ To the place on Atlantic you shared with your hilarious sister/ Kicking off your black flats, demolished and laughing/ I keep what I can of you.”
The band’s Aaron Dessner adds in a press release: “To me the line ‘I keep what I can of you’ means something about everyone I’ve ever known or loved. There’s a simplicity to ‘New Order T-Shirt...

No bullshit here: Poker Face is returning for a second season.
The Peacock series created by Rian Johnson and starring Natasha Lyonne has been renewed at the streamer. The renewal comes as the first season of the T-Street and MRC Television series is rolling out, heading toward its March 9 finale. A season two premiere date has yet to be announced.
The murder mystery drama follows Lyonne as Charlie Cale, a Columbo-inspired murder-solving fugitive who, thanks to her special ability of being able to identify when someone is lying, is consistently calling “bullshit” on the homicidal liars she encounters.
The series experimented with the release format by dropping four episodes at once, followed by a weekly Thursday release of its 10-episode first season. Each episode functions as a stand-alone murder mystery — complete with a new location and cast — with Charlie (Lyonne) anchoring the series as it follows her on the...

Montreal-based Rezolution Pictures, behind Sundance winner “Rumble: The Indians Who Rocked the World,” and Winnipeg-based Op Little Bird have partnered with Fremantle International on Jennifer Podemski and Hannah Moscovitch’s original drama series “Little Bird,” which is set to premiere on Crave and Aptn in Canada.
The series, which stars Darla Contois and Lisa Edelstein, follows the life of Bezhig Little Bird, a victim of the Sixties Scoop in Saskatchewan wherein First Nations children were abducted and placed in foster homes before being put up for adoption by white families.
Told in parallel timelines, “Little Bird” quickly contrasts Bezhig’s childhood with her engagement party – only this time as Esther Rosenblum, a woman in her 20s on the cusp of life, and suddenly wracked with repressed memories. As a showrunner, Podemski, who is herself both Indigenous and Jewish, is perfectly positioned to give authenticity and meaning to the matter. She...

Few people have had a more successful feature directorial debut than James L. Brooks. Right out of the gate, he won Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Original Screenplay and has the second highest grossing film of 1983, only behind a little film called "Return of the Jedi." This was a man who had already conquered the world of television comedy, co-creating "The Mary Tyler Moore Show," all of its spinoffs, and "Taxi" ("The Simpsons" would come later), and in his transition to film, he looked to be conquering that as well.
"Terms of Endearment" has a bit of a reputation as the ultimate example of a cinematic weepy, but people are really only thinking about the final half-hour when they say that. The film as a whole is humanist filmmaking of the highest order, creating a cast of characters that are all messy and funny that you come to care about deeply.

It’s the first whopper deal to come from a sales title and one that begat a bidding war when it premiered Saturday. Searchlight, Lionsgate and Neon were among those in the running, with the final price tag in the 20 million range. Netflix had no comment on the financial aspects of the deal.
The feature debut from Chloe Domont, Play follows Emily (Phoebe Dynevor) and Luke (Alden Ehrenreich), a newly engaged couple who work at a high-powered New York finance company, whose relationship is thrown into disarray when Emily gets promoted ahead of Luke. The movie is Domont’s feature film debut after making a name for herself directing shorts and television episodes of such shows as Billions, Suits and Ballers.

Chloe Domont’s “Fair Play,” a Wall Street drama that has premiered at Sundance, sold to Netlfix in a 20 million worldwide rights deal, according to an individual with knowledge of the deal.
“Fair Play” is led by “Solo” star Alden Ehrenreich and Phoebe Dynevor as Luke and Emily, co-workers at a financial firm who are deeply in love and about to be engaged. But their relationship falls apart when Emily gets a promotion at their firm, leading to a change in power dynamics that poisons their personal lives and eventually leads to violence. Eddie Marsan and Rich Sommer also star in the film.
The film sparked a bidding war that included Searchlight and Neon. It fell short of the 25 million record for a Sundance sale, set in 2021 by Apple’s “Coda,” but did surpass the 17.5 million of the previous record holders — 2020’s “Palm Springs” and 2016’s “The Birth of a Nation.

I’m hearing deal is world rights in the 20 million range.
The film is the first to come out of the association between MRC and T-Street’s Rian Johnson and Ram Bergman, designed to hatch vehicles with emerging talent. What a rousing start, with a drama that launches a new filmmaking voice in writer/director Chloe Domont, making her feature directing debut after directing eps of Billions, Suits and Ballers. T-Street partners are also coming off The Glass Onion, the Knives Out sequel that is also one of the bright spots of the fall movie season. Law & Order: Special Victims Unit -Ice T as Sgt. Odafin “Fin” Tutuola — (Photo by: Scott Gries/NBC) Because of its subject matter, there are few shows on television that are as serious as Law & Order: Svu. But that hasn’t stopped Ice-t from having a great time on the set. In fact, because Svu is such a dark show, Ice-T told us there are plenty of moments of levity when the cameras aren’t rolling to balance things out. When it comes to mainstream American cinema, is there a more prominent or influential name than Steven Spielberg? For over 50 years the filmmaker with the iconic beard has made hits of almost everything he's put his name to. From groundbreaking modern classics like "Raiders of the Lost Ark," "E.T: The Extra-Terrestrial" and "Jurassic Park," to producing nostalgic mega-hits like "Back To The Future," "Gremlins" and "The Goonies," Spielberg could arguably be labeled as one of the chief architects of modern pop-culture as we know it.
Rose-tinted glasses aside, this iconic moviemaker has also helped push the boundaries of what a big-screen adventure can look like and the technical scale at which they are told. Spielberg's extensive body of work has emerged with a baked-in ability to withstand the test of time, all while serving as many a future cinephile's wholesome first steps into the illustrious, varied, and dazzling world of movies at large.

But it’s not often that an artist takes a stance like Quavo, who repeatedly stated that he felt fellow Migos member Takeoff was the best in the trio. “He always been workin’ on his craft…he just masterminded his craft,” the rapper told Power 106 in 2018.

Yet another 3-D Blu-ray treat — the 3-D Film Archive restores a rare English production, an international crime tale in 3-D. Dennis O’Keefe’s T-Man helps Scotland Yard track down a gang of smugglers that kidnaps and murders to force an Atom scientist to perfect his manufacturing formula for synthetic diamonds. You know, just like the silicon chip business. The widescreen 3-D is excellent, especially in two action set pieces. Margaret Sheridan co-stars. It’s almost a premiere, as the movie was never publicly exhibited in 3-D. Kino also provides an anaglyphic encoding with a pair of red-cyan glasses as an alternate 3-D option. Plus good extras about the 3-D process.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is one of the most powerful men on the planet. From his obvious traits, like his insane physique and charisma, to his more mysterious abilities, like how he somehow knew about Osama Bin Laden's death before almost anybody else, it's no wonder people were not unseriously throwing his name around as a presidential candidate.
When Johnson isn't busy changing the hierarchy of power within the DC Extended Universe, he makes insane amounts of money by starring in tons of movies. He's the sort of electric performer who it's easy to give any part to, whether it be the singing demigod Maui in "Moana" or the literal tooth fairy in "Tooth Fairy." Maybe not all of his movies are cinematic masterpieces, per se, but they all have The Rock in them, which is certainly a point in their favor.

While there are quite a few big things we learned from the recent GTA 6 leaks, the leaked media released so far is also filled with fascinating little details. Actually, those who comb through the leaks closely enough will find a few early examples of GTA 6‘s arsenal of weapons, collection of vehicles, and even a few soundtrack selections.
Once again, I have to warn everyone to take these GTA 6 leaks with a slight grain of salt. We now know they are indeed legitimate, but they still represent an early build of a game that is nowhere close to being finished. As such, pretty much everything we think we know about GTA 6 today is subject to change at any point. That’s especially true of some of the smaller leaked details about the game that we’ll be focusing on today.

The #1 channel in this week's Global Top 50 continues to push into unprecedented territory.
As it completes a dominant July, the channel in question is closing in on a round number milestone we've never witnessed before. How long before it completes its latest climb into the record books?

T-Series has wrapped up a perfect July. We released five Global Top 50 charts during the seventh month, and the Indian record label took the #1 spot in all of them. Within the next five weeks, we're expecting T-Series to surpass 200 billion lifetime views, so look as it keeps up the current pace of its viewership. Over our most recent seven-day measurement period, it earned 618 million weekly views. That was good for a 10 week-over-week increase since we last released our Global Top 50.

This week, the channels at the top of our Global Top 50 are bunched closely together. All of them got at least 400 million weekly views on YouTube, but none of them had more than 600 million.
The closeness of the chart didn't change its result. The most prolific YouTube channel of all time is still on top of the world.

T-Series got more views than any other channel in the world this week.
On its own, that fact is nothing unusual, since the Indian record label has been at the top of each chart we've posted in July. I'm more interested to see if T-Series will be able to surpass 200 billion lifetime views before the end of the year. Though it now has more than 197 billion lifetime views, its pace has slowed a bit. Over the past seven days, it earned 562.1 million weekly views, which was the smallest weekly...
The closeness of the chart didn't change its result. The most prolific YouTube channel of all time is still on top of the world.
Chart Toppers
T-Series got more views than any other channel in the world this week.
On its own, that fact is nothing unusual, since the Indian record label has been at the top of each chart we've posted in July. California is getting into the “Star Wars” business, with the state committing 20.9 million in tax subsidies for a new Disney+ series called “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew.”
The recent “Star Wars” films have been shot in the United Kingdom, where they receive government subsidies. But four other “Star Wars” TV series, including “The Mandalorian,” have filmed in California without receiving state incentives, according to California Film Commission records. The shows — the others are “The Book of Boba Fett,” “Obi-Wan Kenobi” and “Ahsoka” — have all shot at Mbs Media Campus, a state-of-the-art soundstage facility in Manhattan Beach.
“Skeleton Crew” is also rumored to be filming at the location, which is outfitted with Ilm’s StageCraft technology.
It will be the second most expensive TV show ever funded by California’s tax credit program, behind only “Penny Dreadful: City of Angels,” a Showtime historical drama that ran for one season in 2020 and received 24.7 million in state incentives.

This week, we said happy birthday to the United States, but among the countries represented in our Global Top 50, India had the biggest week.
18 of the 50 most-watched YouTube channels in the world are associated with the South Asian nation. That number includes the #1 channel in this week's chart, which topped all other comers for the fourth straight week.
Chart Toppers
T-Series is still on top.
The Indian record label got 651.1 million weekly views this week, which pushed it past 196 billion lifetime views on YouTube. Whether you measure by weekly views, all-time views, subscribers, or weeks spent at #1 in our Global Top 50, T-Series is YouTube's most popular channel. That said, its traffic dipped by 1 week-over-week, and it could drop back to second place next week.
The channel with a chance to catch T-Series is Set India. The Sony-owned channel, which provides TV content to its predominantly Indian audience, increased...

This week, if the #1 channel in our Global Top 50 had its viewership cut in half, it would still be one of the ten most-watched YouTube channels in the world.
The top five channels in the chart are all online video powerhouses. They were the only hubs to surpass 400 million views this week.
Chart Toppers
Though many channels in this chart are mighty, none are in the same stratosphere as T-Series.
The Indian record label ended a strong June by staying atop our Global Top 50. With 631 million weekly views, T-Series slightly increased its traffic since our previous update, and it also inched closer to a few notable milestones. Next week, the channel will likely receive its 195 billionth view of all time.
