Great episode. I thought that the first episode alone did just OK in developing the characters as it spent more time covering a lot of ground in the story/plot. With the groundwork established during episode one though, this episode did a much better job adding character depth and as a consequence was much funnier. I thought that I understood the characters better, how they interacted, and I guess "got" the humor throughout the episode. The jokes were more than just one liners added for laughs, they were more organic, offering perspective in addition to many laughs. Really a fresh comedy that makes you laugh but also makes you think sometimes.
So far so good as I was hoping that Fresh Off The Boat would bring something new to the standard comedy lineup and I think this episode demonstrated that it could do just that. Keep it up and I'll keep watching.
